Book China Ethnic Statistical Yearbook 2020

Download or read book China Ethnic Statistical Yearbook 2020 written by Rongxing Guo and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-09-10 with total page 429 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This fully updated edition of the China Ethnic Statistic Yearbook, comprised of entirely original research, presents data on the socioeconomic situation of China’s 56 ethnic groups. Although the majority of China’s population is of the Han nationality (which accounts for more than 90% of China’s population), the non-Han ethnic groups have a population of more than 100 million. China has officially identified, except for other unknown ethnic groups and foreigners with Chinese citizenship, 55 ethnic minorities. In addition, ethnic minorities vary greatly in size. With a population of more than 15 million, the Zhuang are the largest ethnic minority, and the Lhoba, with a population of only about three thousand, the smallest. China’s ethnic diversity has resulted in a special socioeconomic landscape for China itself. How different have China’s ethnic groups been in every sphere of daily life and economic development during China’s fast transition period? In order to answer these questions, we have created a detailed and comparable set of data for each of China’s ethnic groups. This book presents, in an easy-to-use format, a broad collection of social and economic indicators on China’s 56 ethnic groups. This useful resource profiles the general social and economic situations for each of these ethnic groups. These indicators are compiled and estimated based on the regional and local data gathered from a variety of sources up to 2016 with up to date analysis. This Yearbook also includes a new chapter on China’s spatial (dis)integration as a multiethnic paradox.

Book The Future of the World Economy

Download or read book The Future of the World Economy written by Wilhelm Krelle and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 680 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Economic growth and structural change - the future of the world economy - is analysed in this book. Conditional forecasts are given for the economic development of the most important world market countries till the year 2000. The driving forces of economic growth are identified and forecasted, in connection with collaborating scholars in most of these countries and with international organizations. This information is used in solving a coherent world model. The model consists of linked growth models for each country (or groups of countries). The solutions show that the inequality in international income distribution will further increase and that the CMEA and OECD countries will approximately keep their relative positions, with some changes within these groups. Structural change is also analysed. Additionally separate forecasts prepared by each collaborating country group are given and may be compared with the forecasts by the world model. The book closes with chapters on special features of the future economic development: on the international debt problem, on long waves, on structural change in the world trade, on the emergence of service economics and on the comparison of GDP and NMP national accounting.

Established in 1947 the Commission's first concerns were to ensure professionalism and integrity in the national and international statistical services and to focus on the pressing issues of the development of statistical standards and methods and the dissemination of available international statistics in world recovering from global warfare. As the post-war recovery period turned into a time of growth and prosperity, the Commission took up new challenges. In the present era there is the need for the development for truly global economic statistics and improved coverage and greater detail on the rapidly emerging international service sector. No less important and requiring considerable innovation beyond the traditional methods and subjects familiar to official statisticians, is the need to develop tools for measuring the interaction and balance of economic development and the environment, the changes in the global economy, which is becomeing increasingly borderless, and the changing definition of progress.
