Book Star Wars Rebel Starfighters

Download or read book Star Wars Rebel Starfighters written by Ryder Windham and published by Insight Editions. This book was released on 2019-11-12 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: After the Clone Wars, the Galactic Empire spared no expense to build a massive fleet of warships to enforce Imperial rule, intimidate defenseless worlds, and destroy all opposition. However, the Imperial Navy underestimated Rebel Alliance fighter pilots, who flew X-wing, Y-wing, A-wing, U-wing and B-wing starfighters, and whatever else they could obtain to fight their Imperial enemies. Decades later, Resistance pilots would fly next-generation versions of Rebel starfighters against the First Order. The Rebel Starfighters Owners’ Workshop Manual presents a thorough history of the starfighters that served the Rebel Alliance and the Resistance. The history includes design origins, production, and modifications for each Rebel starfighter, and is fully illustrated with numerous photographs, schematics, exploded diagrams, and computer-generated artwork by Star Wars vehicle experts Chris Reiff and Chris Trevas. Text is by Ryder Windham, author and co-author of more than 70 Star Wars books. This Haynes Manual is the most thorough technical guide to Rebel starfighters available, and is fully authorized and approved by Lucasfilm.

For five-year-old Greg, it was the memory of his ma walking back to the house after confronting his stepdad with a splintered, bloodied baseball bat in her hand. Greg Stier was raised in a family of bodybuilding, tobacco-chewing, fist-fighting thugs. He never knew his biological father because his mom had met his dad at a party; she got pregnant, and he left town. Though his mom almost aborted him, in a last-minute twist, Greg’s life was spared for so much more. Unlikely Fighter is the incredible story of how God showed up in Greg’s life—and how he can show up in yours as well. This is a memoir of violence and mayhem—and how God can transform everything.

Book Starfighters of Adumar Star Wars Legends Wraith Squadron

This book was released on 2011-06-28 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aces of Wraith Squadron return in another thrilling adventure! The X-wing fighter pilots of Wraith Squadron have earned their reputation as the Rebel Alliance’s ultimate strike force by overwhelming enemies with their rapid-fire assaults. But now they are about to embark on a diplomatic mission that will prove to be even more hazardous than all-out combat. . . . The neutral world of Adumar has decided to pick a side in the war to control the galaxy. Delegates from both the New Republic and the Empire have been invited to Adumar, and each camp will be given a chance to plead its government’s case. But there is one small catch: since the Adumari prize military skill above all else, they insist that both delegations be composed exclusively of fighter pilots. For pilot Wedge Antilles and his company, it’s an unfamiliar exercise in diplomacy—and one that’s filled with unexpected peril. For once they arrive, the squad is challenged by Adumar’s fierce warriors and attacked by Imperial assassins bent on eliminating all competition. But these challenges pale in comparison to the threat posed by a rogue Republic agent . . . one who is determined to win Adumar’s allegiance once and for all—even if it costs the X-wing pilots their lives.

Whoever wins will determine the fate of humanity. When the fate of humankind depends on the bravery of teenagers, you need a team you can count on. The fate of the world is in their hands. “Starfighters is a new teen sci-fi fantasy series. Destined to be the next big hit for sci-fi book fans. This fantasy book series is somewhere in between The Last Starfighter and Star Wars. Are you ready for a space adventure book that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat?” When an alien force, known as the Thrall, is about to attack Earth, a group of teens from around the world are assembled to defend it. No one can stand in the way of Billy Bronson and his dream of becoming the best starfighter pilot in the civilized world. He's laser-focused and determined to make it to the top. In a world where everyone is a potential competitor, this is not easy. But what makes Billy's quest even harder is that he lives--and goes to school--in one of the outlying planets where they still haven't been connected to beings from other worlds. That’s about to change. Billy Bronson is obsessed with Starfighter, the Virtual Reality game that makes you feel like you are piloting your Starfighter. As is every teenager in the civilized world. When he completes a time-sensitive mission in second place, he is surprised to see that he is invited to Nevada to compete to be ranked one of the best Starfighters in the entire world. But, when Billy gets there, all is not what it seems, Billy realizes that the alien known simply as Harvey has taken it upon himself to train up his group of Starfighters on Earth, without the permission or the consent of the Galactic Federation. He cannot let innocent people die. The way he has managed to do this covertly is by implementing Starfighter training into the hit game Starfighters. With the help of Harvey, a member of the Galactic Council, will a small group of rag-tag teens be able to stop the Thrall from destroying the earth? Starfighters Defending Earth is a YA space fantasy with a teen romance for young adults and is Book One of The Starfighters Book Series. This sci-fi fantasy series with a group of young teens from around the world obscures the lines between epic fantasy and sci-fi adventures. When two teens from opposite sides of the world experience a seemingly love at first sight encounter, this space adventure includes a friends-to-lovers romance for YA readers.

Book Polikarpov s Biplane Fighters

Download or read book Polikarpov s Biplane Fighters written by Yefim Gordon and published by Ian Allan Publishing. This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Soviet Polikarpov design bureau is perhaps best known for the I-16 fighter, the world's first monoplane fighter to have a retractable undercarriage. This aircraft is covered in Volume 3 of the Red Star series. This book explores the development of Polikarpov's fighting biplanes from the 2I-N1 to his first aircraft to see production; to the I-3 and the I-5 created while the designer was in prison. This design paved the way for the I-15 which earned fame as the Chato during the Spanish Civil War and also saw action against the Japanese, and the I-15bis which owed its existence mainly to Soviet Air Force's prejudice against gull wings; and the famous I-153 Chaika, a gull-wing biplane with retractable-landing gear. Experimental versions of this aricraftg are also included in the book. A detailed account of the combat role of these aircraft is given as are structural descriptions. The book also includes details of the ill-starred I-190 which was to have superceded the Chaika and of privately owned I-15bis and I-153s which have been restored to airworthy condition.
