Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Stanley was a kind and compassionate man killed by HIV. His soul went somewhere far away from Earth. He was judged for his good and bad deeds. His main purpose on Earth was to serve humanity, to free the world from social evils such as poverty, child abuse, AIDS, and other problems that he encountered in life. With much sacrifice, he helped a lot for people around the world, but he also encountered challenges among greedy and cruel people. Stanley kept on fighting for a better world. After judgment day, he was pronounced an earth angel, one of the saints. Despite Stanley's noble work, he died an ordinary man after leading a miserable life. Taking into consideration that he as one person could not change the world and that he encountered many obstacles in this battle, he still gave his best. At the heart of the story Stanley's Noble Deeds: An Inspiring Journey Beyond Life is the battle of good versus evil. It teaches everyone to always act good, because after death we have to answer for our actions and it then we learn about true karma. Publisher's website: http: //sbprabooks.com/AjayRamphul

Download or read book Hermeneutics as Politics written by Stanley Rosen and published by Oxford University Press, USA. This book was released on 1987 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This, the first of four volumes in the new Odeon series on continental philosophy, is an attempt to construe the interpretation of texts (ie the art of hermeneutics) as a political answer to a given historical situation. Professor Rosen views interpretation as the result neither of changing fashion nor of innocent playfulness, but rather as a self-conscious (even if disguised or concealed) political strategy. In this book, he discusses the German hermeneutical tradition, the Alexander Kojeve-Leo Straus relationship, and current leading continental and American philosophers such as Derrida and.

Download or read book The Malmedy Massacre written by Steven P. Remy and published by Harvard University Press. This book was released on 2017-03-14 with total page 353 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During the Battle of the Bulge, Waffen SS soldiers shot 84 American prisoners near the Belgian town of Malmedy—the deadliest mass execution of U.S. soldiers during World War II. The bloody deeds of December 17, 1944, produced the most controversial war crimes trial in American history. Drawing on newly declassified documents, Steven Remy revisits the massacre—and the decade-long controversy that followed—to set the record straight. After the war, the U.S. Army tracked down 74 of the SS men involved in the massacre and other atrocities and put them on trial at Dachau. All the defendants were convicted and sentenced to death or life imprisonment. Over the following decade, however, a network of Germans and sympathetic Americans succeeded in discrediting the trial. They claimed that interrogators—some of them Jewish émigrés—had coerced false confessions and that heat of battle conditions, rather than superiors’ orders, had led to the shooting. They insisted that vengeance, not justice, was the prosecution’s true objective. The controversy generated by these accusations, leveled just as the United States was anxious to placate its West German ally, resulted in the release of all the convicted men by 1957. The Malmedy Massacre shows that the torture accusations were untrue, and the massacre was no accident but was typical of the Waffen SS’s brutal fighting style. Remy reveals in unprecedented depth how German and American amnesty advocates warped our understanding of one of the war’s most infamous crimes through a systematic campaign of fabrications and distortions.
