Book Standing for God in a Perverse Generation

Download or read book Standing for God in a Perverse Generation written by Rev. Dr. Chris Okeke and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2023-06-08 with total page 200 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the primary reasons God elected and kept you alive today is for you to stand for Him in a times of affliction, war, famine, in the time of plenty and in a time lack when people refuse to acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. God wants you to stand for Him in FAITH, BELIEF, TRUST, OBEDIENCE, AND WORSHIP. There has never been a time in the history of the church that God needed His elect to stand in obedience to all His commandments such as it is now. There’s a sudden, mysterious wave of evil occurrences chiefly trying to undermine the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus which the church represents. Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:11, said, “Put on the whole armor of God that you may be able to STAND against the wiles of the devil.” This book, “Standing for God,” is one of the desired Christian classics which reminds the church to stand solidly in obedience to God’s commandments as we pass through sets of turbulent periods in our lives. Beloved, let us take the word of Moses to the Jews for our comfort: ”Fear ye not, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord which He will accomplish for you today, for the Egyptians whom you see today you shall see again no more.” Exodus 14:13 As you go through this book, may the Holy Spirit help in your wilderness experience to stand and proclaim the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Download or read book How Should We Then Live written by Francis A. Schaeffer and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2022-03-09 with total page 267 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Francis Schaeffer's Classic Analysis of the Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture Civilizations throughout history have built societies around their own limited value systems including rulers, finite gods, or relativism—only to fail. The absence of a Christian foundation eventually leads to breakdown, and those signs are visible in present-day culture as well. Can modern society avoid the same fate? In this latest edition of How Should We Then Live?, theologian Francis A. Schaeffer traces the decline of Western culture from the fall of Rome, through the Middle Ages and the Enlightenment, and up to the twentieth century. Studying humanism's impact on philosophy, science, and religion, he shows how this worldview historically results in apathy, chaos, and decline. Schaeffer's important work calls on readers to live instead by Christian ethics, placing their trust in the infinite personal God of the Bible. Originally written in 1976, How Should We Then Live? remains remarkably applicable today. A Theology Classic: Written by renowned Christian philosopher Francis A. Schaeffer For Those Interested in Philosophy and History: Engages with the ideas of Plato, John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, and Voltaire, and examines the art, architecture, and ideas that shaped modern society Explores the Importance of a Christian Worldview: A practical assessment of the evolution of culture and the steadfast alternative offered by the biblical perspective

It doesn't go with the flow, compromise on truth, or stay silent in the face of injustice--so neither can we. No matter how young or old we are, or how much or how little influence we think we have, God calls us to boldly engage our upside-down culture through the lens of his truth. With powerful examples from Scripture and stories from teens today and through the centuries, Sara Barratt equips teens to live with a biblical worldview, approach today's hot-button issues with godly wisdom, and influence their generation for the glory of God. Tackling tough topics like sexuality, addiction, identity, media, and much more, Sara offers practical ways to stay rooted in God's truth while engaging culture with the redemptive story of the gospel--no matter the cost.

But you are given to the inhabitation of the times, and that has carried the day for you. But there is another that shall come, even death, and his inhabitation shall take the times away from you. What worth your claim ignorance? For the glory of the Lord, even Christ Jesus, is it not to fill all the earth? But betaken with the times, you reject the glory of God. Yet to that one who is weary, repentance would have reconciled this one wanderer with a road back; in spite of the times. You have been beckoned all your life that you have a purpose. Book Ancient Israel What Do We Know and How Do We Know It

Download or read book Ancient Israel What Do We Know and How Do We Know It written by Lester L. Grabbe and published by Bloomsbury Publishing. This book was released on 2017-02-23 with total page 352 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In Ancient Israel Lester L. Grabbe sets out to summarize what we know through a survey of sources and how we know it by a discussion of methodology and by evaluating the evidence. The most basic question about the history of ancient Israel, how do we know what we know, leads to the fundamental questions of Grabbe's work: what are the sources for the history of Israel and how do we evaluate them? How do we make them 'speak' to us through the fog of centuries? Grabbe focuses on original sources, including inscriptions, papyri, and archaeology. He examines the problems involved in historical methodology and deals with the major issues surrounding the use of the biblical text when writing a history of this period. Ancient Israel provides an enlightening overview and critique of current scholarly debate. It can therefore serve as a 'handbook' or reference-point for those wanting a catalogue of original sources, scholarship, and secondary studies. Grabbe's clarity of style makes this book eminently accessible not only to students of biblical studies and ancient history but also to the interested lay reader. For this new edition the entire text has been reworked to take account of new archaeological discoveries and theories. There is a major expansion to include a comprehensive coverage of David and Solomon and more detailed information on specific kings of Israel throughout. Grabbe has also added material on the historicity of the Exodus, and provided a thorough update of the material on the later bronze age.

A Stranger in the House of God addresses fundamental questions and struggles faced by spiritual seekers and mature believers. Like a contemporary Pilgrim’s Progress, it traces the author’s journey and explores his experiences with both charismatic and evangelical Christianity. It also describes his transformation from religious outsider to ordained pastor. John Koessler provides a poignant and often humorous window into the interior of the soul as he describes his journey from doubt and struggle with the church to personal faith
