Download or read book Standard Method of Test for Electrical Indication of Concrete s Ability to Resist Chloride Ion Penetration written by and published by . This book was released on 2014 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This test method covers the determination of the electrical conductance of concrete to provide a rapid indication of its resistance to the penetration of chloride ions. This test is applicable to types of concrete where correlations have been established between this test procedure and long-term chloride ponding procedures such as those described in T 259." -- Page 1.

Book Reexamination of ASTM C 1202 Standard Test Method for Electrical Indication of Concrete s Ability to Resist Chloride Ion Penetration

Download or read book Reexamination of ASTM C 1202 Standard Test Method for Electrical Indication of Concrete s Ability to Resist Chloride Ion Penetration written by RC. Joshi and published by . This book was released on 2000 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The electrolytic processes in the ASTM C 1202 chloride penetration test method have been reexamined both theoretically and experimentally. The analyses show that hydroxyl (OH-) ion generated at the cathode during testing carries a substantial part of the current and that chloride (Cl-) ion is not the sole current carrier. Attention has also been drawn to the implication of the experimental results on the determination of the Cl- ion diffusivity by the ASTM C 1202 experimental setup.

Book Standard Method of Test for Resistance of Concrete to Chloride Ion Penetration

Download or read book Standard Method of Test for Resistance of Concrete to Chloride Ion Penetration written by and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "This method covers the determination of the resistance of concrete specimens to the penetration of chloride ion. It is intended for use in determining the effects of variations in the properties of concrete on the resistance of the concrete to chloride ion penetration." -- Page 1.

Book Performance Based Specifications and Control of Concrete Durability

Download or read book Performance Based Specifications and Control of Concrete Durability written by Hans Beushausen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-09-24 with total page 384 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This work gives an overview of significant research from recent years concerning performance-based design and quality control for concrete durability and its implementation. In engineering practice, performance approaches are often still used in combination with prescriptive requirements. This is largely because, for most durability test methods, sufficient practical experience still has to be gained before engineers and owners are prepared to fully rely on them. This book, compiled by RILEM TC 230-PSC, is intended to assist efforts to successfully build the foundation for the full implementation of performance-based approaches through the exchange of relevant knowledge and experience between researchers and practitioners worldwide.

Book Rating Concrete Water Permeability Based on Resistivity Measurements

Download or read book Rating Concrete Water Permeability Based on Resistivity Measurements written by Christopher C. Ferraro and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Current test methods that measure the electrical conductance or resistivity of concrete provide a rapid indication of concrete ability to resist chloride ion penetration. Although these methods do not provide a direct relationship to concrete water permeability, they have been widely accepted for assessing the durability of concrete. NCHRP Research Report 1086: Rating Concrete Water Permeability Based on Resistivity Measurements, from TRB's National Cooperative Highway Research Program, presents a test method for measuring water permeability of concrete and proposes an approach for relating concrete water permeability to electrical resistivity measurements."--Publisher's website.

Book Ultra High Performance Concrete and High Performance Building Materials for Sustainable Construction

Download or read book Ultra High Performance Concrete and High Performance Building Materials for Sustainable Construction written by Ekkehard Fehling and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2024-01-01 with total page 310 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sustainable construction, with the overarching goal of reducing the environmental footprint of everything we build is becoming increasingly important and urgent in the light of the climate change the world is facing. The use of innovative and sustainable building materials, especially concrete as the worldwide most commonly used building material, offers a great opportunity to significantly reduce climate-relevant emissions in the construction sector. Due to their performance and reliable durability, the use of innovative high-performance concretes will help to reduce the need for new constructions and to sustainably repair existing infrastructure. In new buildings in particular, the use of high-performance materials can help to save energy and natural resources, which reduces climate-relevant emissions and thus global warming. With the current HiPerMat 6, we are responding to the growing understanding of the impact of our construction activities on the environment by placing greater emphasis on sustainability issues.

Book Marine Concrete Structures
