Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An amateur’s journal of travel and photography. Good photography is no more just for the pros. Social media and mobile phone cameras as personal accessories have changed it all. Taking pictures on the phone and posting them on social media is common practice. That India is christened the “selfie capital of the world” is proof of the ease of taking pictures and the obsession to share. Curiously, few know the basics of taking a good photograph. This travelogue is my journey across the world, indulging my passion for photography while constantly looking to improve the quality of the visuals I click irrespective of the camera device. This book covers my travels across diverse country scapes, beaches, cities and jungles. I hope you enjoy this journey. An important facet of this travelogue is my impression from each experience that instilled in me respect for every individual, irrespective of race, color, creed, gender, physical features or ability and the increasing belief in the need for the principles of Grade Humanity to make the world more accepting of all. All sale proceeds from this book will go to Jamghat, an organization that fosters the values of Grade Humanity while rehabilitating street children across New Delhi. I was fortunate to work two summers at Jamghat and continue to be inspired every day by the tireless work and scale of impact of this team.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rising China and emerging India are becoming major maritime powers. As they build large navies to secure their growing interests, both nations are roiling the waters of the Indo-Pacific—the vast littoral stretching from Africa to Australasia. Invoking a tale from Hindu mythology— Samudra Manthan or "to churn the ocean"—C. Raja Mohan tells the story of a Sino-Indian rivalry spilling over from the Great Himalayas into the Indian and Pacific Oceans. He examines the prospects of mitigating the tensions and constructing a stable Indo-Pacific order. America, the dominant power in the area, is being drawn into the unfolding Sino-Indian competition. Despite the huge differences in the current naval capabilities of China, India, and the United States, Mohan argues that the three countries are locked in a triangular struggle destined to mold the future Indo-Pacific.

Book Cricket Commentary Commentators

Download or read book Cricket Commentary Commentators written by Ravi Chaturvedi and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2019-11-16 with total page 383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I have been handed the new ball and asked to bowl the opening spell in this book of Cricket Commentary and Commentators. It was always my ambition to play Test cricket for India, but I was allergic to grass. A pity because I would have been the silliest mid-on to have played Test cricket. My long leg would have been a sensation. There have never been swingers to match mine. I used to be such an agile fielder that a piece of music ‘Third Man Theme’ was composed as a tribute On the serious side, as a commentator, I was always fascinated by how cricket commentary began. While the journey of cricket commentary is fairly well-recorded in Australia and England, the information on the subject in other eight Test playing countries is scanty. This book – Cricket Commentary & Commentators – is a humble attempt to weave together threads scattered in different areas and diverse directions. The scope of the book has been enlarged to include not just commentators but even anchors, presenters, scorers and statisticians while making it a compendium on commentary. With these opening remarks, I urge you, the reader, to move forward.

Book Taxonomy of the birds of the world

Download or read book Taxonomy of the birds of the world written by fotolulu and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2018-10-30 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How do you come up with the idea to list all the birds in the world including the subspecies and to give all birds English names? There is a reason for it - my favorite saying, whose author is unknown: "Everyone said that ́s not possible - then there was one who did not know that and just did it!" I am an animal photographer and probably a little bit crazy. I ́ve built a complete animal database for mammals and birds over the last decade. This facilitates my work in determining and archiving images and assigning keywords, especially among the many subspecies. With this book, I would like to give all birding friends and ornithologists a complete overview in English. For this I have given unique English names to all subspecies. The naming should not meet any scientific requirements. The names are based on translations from the Latin name, geographical distribution areas and the names of the discoverers. The entries consist of the scientific name, the English name, the distribution areas and the author. I wish you a lot of fun with this book, but especially while watching the fascinating birdlife. fotolulu
