Book Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity

Download or read book Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity written by A. S. Ramaiah and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2015-06-25 with total page 191 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity: A Critical Study of His Life and Genius The Divine Charioteer of Partha was no less eloquent and heavenly tongued in His sublime discourses on subjects of universal interest and importance with the Emperor Yudhistira, whose heart-homage and adoration He drew to Himself in no less measure than His own heart gave to the pure and proud Empress Draupadi, the Passion-incarnate Goddess. The Cowherd Prince of Vraja is the princeliest of all mankind, the supremest prophet, poet and philosopher, all combined in one; and He is as much of an ideal king, statesman and warrior as He is undoubtedly the most universally acclaimed Friend and Playmate, Lover and Beloved, Redeemer and Saviour of every human heart. The religion of Sri Krishna comprises all the loftiest elements of the human heart, mind and soul, and the true divinity of His Life is made manifest not so much even by the recorded doings and sayings of His individual person as by the everlong and evergrowing, the hallowed holiest loves and aspirations, dreams and ideals, which His name and example, His Godliest Personality, has been productive of since the day of His birth full five thousand years back and promises to be still more so in the future ages of World-Democracy and Universal Brother-Sisterhood. India stands nothing more in need of to-day than a moral dynamic and spiritual religion of instinctive superannuation and immediate practice. Book Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity

Download or read book Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity written by A. S. Ramaiah and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2019-02-11 with total page 190 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from Sri Krishna the Soul of Humanity: A Critical Study of His Life and Genius This critical study of Sri Krishna's Life and Genius is meant primarily to serve as an introduction to the larger and more comprehensive study of the Lord's religion of Love, Liberty and Sacrifice. The Supreme Religion of Sm' Krishna. Is the title of the forthcoming volume whose detailed contents are given in the last page of this book. Sri Krishna is the quintessence of India's spiritual civilisation, the sublimest synthesis and embodiment of the noblest and the best that the illustrious land of Bharata varsha has ever given out' of her inmost heart and soul to God and Collective Humanity; and the bhagavad-gita is not by itself sufficient to illustrate the more truly religious, as different from philosophic, aspects of the Highest Avat-ar's Life and Teachings. The eternal joy emanating from the humble Cradle at Gokula, the ineflable radiance of the beauty-boy of Brindavam, the ever heightening melodies of the soul-rapture of Radha are drowned in the thunder, obscured and beclouded in the din and dust of the battle-field of Kurukshetra Where the stern Voice of God sounded the deathless song of liberty in activity, joy in sacrifice and righteousness asthe be-all and end-all of human existence. The Divine Charioteer of Partha was no less eloquent and heavenly tongued in His sublime discourses on subjects of universal interest and importance with the Emperor Yudhistira, whose heart-homage and adoration He drew to Himself in no less measure than His own heart gave to the pure and proud Empress Draupadi, the Passion-incarnate Goddess. The Cow herd Prince of Vraja is the princeliest of all mankind, the supremest prophet, poet and philosopher, all com bined in one; and He is as much of an ideal king, statesman and warrior as He is undoubtedly the most universally acclaimed Friend and Playmate, Lover and Beloved, Redeemer and Saviour of every human heart. Book The Hindu Quest for the Perfection of Man

Download or read book The Hindu Quest for the Perfection of Man written by Troy W. Organ and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 1998-07-27 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “A lucid, thorough and fresh exploration of the material. This is an exceedingly helpful study and may be the best single textbook on the subject. Previously, there was little of note in between inadequate introductions to Hindu thought and the more specialized primary or secondary materials. Organ is a competent philosopher and presents the ‘Hindu quest’ in a scholarly and readable form…it is a key book for undergraduate libraries and would be an invaluable asset in a course which dealt seriously and at any length with the Hindu tradition. Excellent bibliography.” —Choice “This is not just another book on Hinduism, but a source of systematic information…” —Bibliography of Philosophy “This scholarly and perceptive account makes Hindu beliefs and practices intelligible by showing how the contradictions which have puzzled Westerners are rooted in Human Diversity.” —The Review of Metaphysics

Book India as a Model for Global Development

Download or read book India as a Model for Global Development written by Mahmoud Masaeli and published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing. This book was released on 2018-10-11 with total page 216 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: India is an emerging market economy, and has been more successful than most other emerging economies. Key to this success are India’s ancient legacy of consensus democracy, non-violence, multi-culturality, tolerance, secularism, and the practical simplicity of economic life inspired by Mahatma Gandhi. Also, vital to India’s present economy is the history of the country since the struggle for Independence began in 1857. India has followed a strikingly distinct route of development from other emerging economies such as South Korea, China, Malaysia, Brazil, and Mexico. While these countries concentrated on manufacturing and exports, India grounded its economy on an integrative domestic system of life. This model is marked by interesting and gradual, but constant, growth with an emphasis on services. Reforms in land-agricultural system, political governance, and financial management have led to a landmark stage of economic progress, with India’s GDP rate higher than many emerging market economies. This volume explores the reasons why India has fared better than other emerging market economies, and whether other countries can take inspiration from this model and rebuild their own countries based on their national resources, cultural heritage, and the capacity to interact globally.

Book Religions and Rituals

Download or read book Religions and Rituals written by Prof. Dulal Bhattacharya and published by Exceller Books. This book was released on with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Warring religions and continuous abuse of Hinduism prompted me to write this book. In the usual comparative religion approach, similes are shown while contrasts and conflicts are avoided with a passing mention. I have written both similes and contrasts for a better evaluation. In this context, I remember a story that I read about the King of Hispaniola as told by the boasting Spaniards. After the Spaniards captured the King of Hispaniola, they put him up on stakes to burn. Before setting the fire, the padre of the Spaniards asked the King if he would agree to accept Christianity since it would not only save his life but would also guarantee his entry into heaven after death. The King, after listening to the padre, asked if all Spaniards go to heaven after death. The padre answered in the affirmative. The King then said that heaven must be a very vile place full of cruel people, and the King further added that they can put fire so that he can happily join his forefathers. This story is a good reminder of how religions can make people cruel unless there is a good way of self-evaluation. This book seeks to fill up that gap in the study of comparative religion. It will supplement contemporary books like 'Snakes in Ganga' by Rajeev Malhotra and documentary films like 'The Kashmir Files' by Vivek Agnihotri.

Book The Journey Towards Greatness

Download or read book The Journey Towards Greatness written by Ashutosh Kumar and published by Notion Press. This book was released on 2022-05-24 with total page 274 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Legends who leave their mark on history are born of enlightened thinking and action. Through the illuminating pages of this handy book, the reader gets a splendid opportunity to be at close quarters with these legends and the life lessons learned by them during their journeys towards the pinnacle. All these legends are indelibly associated with human progress. They are great by any standard and their lives have become a part of history. This book is the result of more than twelve years of sadhana by Ashutosh Kumar. It is not a set of biographical essays in chronological order; rather, it is a distillation of the experiences and learnings of the chosen legends. It provides glimpses of the leadership mantras of business leaders and the life lessons and wisdom of Lord Buddha, Sai Baba, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore, Sri Aurobindo, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Nani Palkhivala, J. R. D Tata, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, Sardar Patel, Dr. S Radhakrishnan, Rajendra Prasad, Pt. Sriram Sharma Acharya, Dr. Abdul Kalam, and many more. Henry Wadsworth Longfellow once stated, “The heights by great man reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upwards in the night.” Zig Ziglar taught us, “People often complain about the lack of time when lack of direction is the real problem.” It is equally important that it is not how you know, but how you go about fulfilling the purpose of your life that counts. That is what sets the legends apart. A must-read for all those who want to gain a deeper understanding of life by learning from the life experiences of legends and charting a path towards greatness."

This book was released on 2022-11-11 with total page 3952 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Started in 1958, Sanathana Sarathi is a monthly magazine devoted to Sathya (Truth), Dharma (Righteousness), Shanti (Peace) and Prema (Love) - the four cardinal principles of Bhagawan Baba's philosophy. It is published from Prasanthi Nilayam (the Abode of Highest Peace) and acts as a mouthpiece of Baba's Ashram as it speaks of the important events that take place in His sacred Abode, besides carrying Divine Messages conveyed through Divine Discourses of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. The word meaning of Sanathana Sarathi is the 'Eternal Charioteer'. It signifies the presence of the Lord in every being as the atma guiding their lives like a charioteer. It implies that he who places his life, the body being likened to a chariot, in an attitude of surrender in the hands of the Lord, will be taken care of by the Lord even as a charioteer would take the occupant of his chariot safely to its destination. The magazine is an instrument to disseminate spiritual knowledge for the moral, physical and mental uplift of humanity without any discrimination as the subject matter discussed therein is always of common interest and of universal appeal. The fifteen Vahinis - streams of sacredness - known as the Vahini Series comprising annotation and interpretation of the Upanishads and other scriptures, Itihasas like the Ramayana, the Bhagavatha and the Mahabharata, and authentic explanations on Dhyana, Dharma, Prema, etc., have been serially published in this magazine as and when they emanated from the Divine pen of Bhagawan Baba. This magazine is published in almost all Indian languages, English and Telugu from Prasanthi Nilayam and others from respective regions. Every year Sanathana Sarathi comes out with a special issue in November commemorating the Divine Birthday. The English and Telugu magazines are posted on the 10th and 23rd respectively, of every month, from Prasanthi Nilayam. This magazine has wide, ever increasing circulation in India as well as abroad, as the study of it brings the reader closer to the philosophy of the Avatar in simple understandable language THUS SPAKE SAI... Discoursing during the launch of Sanathana Sarathi... From this day, our Sanathana Sarathi will lead to victory the cohorts of truth - the Vedas, the Sastras and similar scriptures of all faiths, against the forces of the ego such as injustice, falsehood, immorality and cruelty. This is the reason why it has emerged. This Sarathi will fight in order to establish world prosperity. It is bound to sound the paean of triumph when universal Ananda is achieved.
