Back in the 50s, the Compton brothers made their mark at Arsenal whilst Newcastle United went more cosmopolitan by including two Chileans, the Robledo brothers in their F.A. Cup winning teams, also in the 50s. In the 60s, the Charlton brothers came to the world’s attention, particularly when they played successfully together for England in the 1966 World Cup final at Wembley. They also became players in their own right at their respective clubs. However, for football families, none are more lasting or enduring in the game than the footballing Allen’s. Since Les Allen starred for Spurs in their Double-winning team in 1961, others have followed in his footsteps: siblings or uncles, nephews or cousins. Two famous Allens followed in Les’s footsteps in marking their mark at Spurs in the 80s, Clive and Paul. They even lined up together in the 1987 F.A. Cup final. This is a short celebration of the life and times of that famous Allen Trinity, who made their own particular mark on one of the world's greatest football clubs.
