Download or read book Letters to the Rock written by Leonie Phoenix and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2012-11-17 with total page 64 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Letters to the Rock is the story of a spiritual journey, told in poems, starting from reliance on worldly concerns, through conflict, to the healing process, and eventual trust in the True Rock, Jesus Christ. The poems are simple, honest and moving. They will tug on your heart-strings and inspire your spirit. They journal a painful emotional struggle, followed by deep spiritual healing, to the ultimate arrival at joy in faith and trust in God. Leonie Phoenix is an avid believer that God can transform any situation to bring about good. She hopes that through sharing her experiences, she can help others find new meaning and purpose in their lives. She lives in the Caribbean with her husband and children. Fascinating and beautiful. I like the whole idea, and how it is expressed. It is excellent food for thought. Brenda Quin, co-author of That Still Small Voice. Thought-provoking The writer has understood that the suffering endured now will lead to eventual true joy if the individual uses it to empty him or herself of their worldly desires and replaces them with the in-dwelling Spirit of God, who refills us with the peace and love and mind of Christ. Peter Westin, co-author of That Still Small Voice. I enjoyed the poems very much. They conjured up many images and the message from the writing has helped me with my own personal inner struggles. I got a deep understanding of the writer. She realises God doesnt always answer her pleas and cries in the way she wants. But, no matter where this journey takes her, she will always win through. She has learnt to trust God. She praises Him and her heart is now on fire within Gods warmth. Colin Wilson, author of The Judith Code. Leonies writings are an expression of her very heart, body, soul and mind. Cathartic and healing, her pen creates a space for spirituality which takes her readers from the underworld to the divine. She's the pilgrim poet. Quincy Brown, Performing Artiste and Radio Personality.

Book excerpt: If you long to draw nearer to the Creator, crave to feel the Spirit’s comfort, or yearn to follow Jesus along the journey of faith, you will treasure the humble wisdom that has crossed your path. Seek, Wait, Trust: Poems for Navigating the Spiritual Journey contains the pensive, poetic voice of Mary Morgan Brown and the compelling prayers of Rev. Dr. Gregg Brown. “These are not just literary offerings, but also testimonies of what God can do and will do,” Rev. Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr. observes in his Foreword. “In many of these poems, scripture verses have morphed into direct advice not so much to be quoted, but actions to be taken. Listen not so much for rhymes or meter, literal or symbolic intent. Listen with your heart to hear the voice of God. God has heard the interrogatives, intercessions, petitions, and gratitude of your soul and has lovingly placed an answer in your spirit...If you do not discern the meaning on your first reading, read again and again. When you are finally ready, say ‘Speak Lord, your servant child is ready to hear!’” This book is a boat of wisdom for those on a quest for deeper meaning and purpose in life. The foreword is the bow; the poetry, the hull; and the prayers, the stern. Take the helm. Seek and chart a steady spiritual course. Wait for God’s navigating guidance. Trust your entire destination to the living Lord. • “Mary’s pensive, piercing insight and Gregg’s vigorous, Heaven-bound prayers will leave the reader revitalized and transformed for a closer walk with God and more loving interactions with people.” – Jackie Wright, publicist, President of Wright Enterprises • “Ms. Brown’s poignant, tender, and always relatable poems render new insight to scripture, bridging the peaks and valleys of an ongoing spiritual search.” – Robin Fletcher, writer, Founder of RdF Consulting Services • “It is a poetic dance and masterpiece of movement through self-discovery...it is the essential traveling case required of believers.” – Rev. Dr. Clarence L. Johnson, Senior Pastor, Mills Grove Christian Church, Disciples of Christ

Book A Spiritual Journey Through Poetry with Marion Woods

Download or read book A Spiritual Journey Through Poetry with Marion Woods written by Marion Woods and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2009-07 with total page 294 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Maybe once or twice in our lives, God grants us the high honor of meeting someone special-someone who walks so closely with Christ that -for the moment-we are sure that we are walking and talking with our Savior. That is what happened when many years ago God allowed my path to cross that of Marion Woods. From that first encounter, like so many others, I knew that Marion was someone very special. His love of God, his passion and compassion for God's children were so clearly evident and contagious. From then on, I have treasured each moment God has given us together. I urge our mission team members to "lean in close" to drink in every word Marion has to share with us. Likewise, I spend every free moment sitting as close as I can-drinking in every bit of wisdom, every ounce of inspiration and every drop of laughter. God grants us these rare gems only so often and I thank God for the gift of Marion Woods. Pull up a chair, sip a cup of Costa Rican coffee and be prepared to feel God's presence as Marion takes you on a walk with the Savior. Rev. Jimmy Towson Metter, Ga.- FUMC

Book Life Death And Resurrection

Download or read book Life Death And Resurrection written by Dewey John Jones and published by Author House. This book was released on 2014-07-11 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: It has been said that poetry is the art of naming things properly. Life, Death, And Resurrection is a book of poetry that is the fruition of the author's journey into monasticism, a journey which seemingly leads away from the world, but which is actually a rushing into reality; it is a journey to find the ultimate meaning of one's own existence, the ultimate meaning of life, and the name that God Himself gives to each one of us. This is a book about one soul's search for God, and what that soul finds in this pursuit: life, death, and resurrection-God's own poem He hides within every aspect of our lives. In these poems we find that ultimately it is the journey that will define who we are in the end, and it is the Cross that will show us how to live this journey; we will find our truest self, our true name, only in our love for God and neighbor. As one poem reads: God comes to us in many ways... In vision and mystery In the hand to be held The burden to be born The scars to be felt Which are our prisons to be shorn.

Book My Personal Journey With Jesus Revealed Through Poetry

Download or read book My Personal Journey With Jesus Revealed Through Poetry written by Brian Whitacre and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2012 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "My Personal Journey With Jesus Revealed Through Poetry" includes my personal testimony along with poems I have written since 1999. My personal testimony is about how Jesus walked with me and carried me through the trials and tribulations of the past seventeen years. This includes my salvation experience, my personal encounters with Satan, my time spent in mental hospitals, two times when I could have died, the loss of family and friends, and also how God provided me with a new Christian family and friends who are helping me rebuild my life and showing me how to minister to others. The three sections of poems include personal journey poems, praise and worship poems, and poems about the end times. The reason I am telling my story and being so open and honest is because I want you to know that Jesus is real and that He will save you and walk with you for eternity if you only open up your heart to Him. My name is Brian Whitacre. I was born in 1973. As a child I enjoyed school and played sports, however I didn't know Jesus. My spiritual journey started in 1993. At the age of twenty I began attending a Pentecostal Church where I was drawn to Jesus by the power of love. On April 24, 1994, I got saved as God spoke these words to me "are you willing to give up your secular music for me?" I said yes and God also delivered me from my bad temper and cursing. However, right after I got saved, I came face to face with Satan. This encounter changed the course of my life forever. Because of this encounter I ended up in a maximum security mental hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Since 1994 I have spent many long hours in mental hospitals where Jesus proved He would never leave me.
