Without the trials (the tests, critiques, stresses, problems, evaluations, fire, winds, waves, etc.), and the accompanying passage of time, as well as the FINAL APPROVAL OF GOD, we run the risk of becoming defective products, full of errors, legalistic, enslaved, and the discarded proud. These are "products" that the Almighty GOD has NOT APPROVED or RELEASED for HIS use. Instead, these defective and oftentimes dangerous products come from the flesh and the devil. GOD has no use for it, except to throw it into the fire.

Book Spiritual Snacks for Hungry Christians

Download or read book Spiritual Snacks for Hungry Christians written by Monroe Gaultney and published by Stylewriter Publications. This book was released on 2004 with total page 180 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The "spritual snacks" in this book are a result of my discovery that spiritual eating habits are similar to physical eating: (1) you read the menu, (2) you order in your own words, (3) you chew, and (4) you digest. This book is set up the same way: (1) read the scripture, (2) in other words, (3) take small bites, and (4) questions and thoughts to aid digestion (understanding). I trust that these snacks will be a springboard to your own spiritual growth, as well as those with whom you come in contact. Some of you will be looking at this book for different reasons. For whatever reason, Spiritual Snacks is in your possession. May the words on these pages bring you to a more meaningful understanding of the joy and victory that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Book Eighth Day Discipleship

  • Author : Richard H. Bliese
  • Publisher : Fortress Press
  • Release : 2022-04-19
  • ISBN : 1506478840
  • Pages : 217 pages

Download or read book Eighth Day Discipleship written by Richard H. Bliese and published by Fortress Press. This book was released on 2022-04-19 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Richard H. Bliese draws on historic architecture of eight-sided churches to call attention to an important but often overlooked emphasis on the eighth day of creation. Early Christians were focused on God's new creation that began in Christ's resurrection on Sunday, the first day of the week. But these Christians understood resurrection as the continuation of God's creative and redemptive activity. So the first day of the week became the eighth day of creation, and therefore the day of resurrection work and time to join with Christ in transforming the world. Christian disciples do this work by living out their baptismal vocations, especially in their daily work and through their ethical economic choices. The author turns to Martin Luther and the Reformation to outline an evangelical spirituality that invested in people and their vocations as worker-priests. Daily life, work, and family were underscored as the place where discipleship came alive. Bliese describes this as an architectural "design" for faithful living. He further draws on parts of Luther's Small Catechism (Ten Commandments, Apostles' Creed, and Lord's Prayer) as keys to this evangelical design. Five additional architectural designs for eighth-day disciples are included. The final chapter describes how eighth-day disciples are called to live by faith in freedom and responsibility. Making disciples today needs to revolve around a gospel story that links one's personal faith with one's work and economic life. Such faith gives us ears to hear God's unfolding drama and eyes to see the needs of the neighbor. The book includes a study guide for personal reflection and group conversation.

Book Let the Communion Commence

Download or read book Let the Communion Commence written by Kevin Dean Smith and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2021-05-13 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Let the Communion Commence: Lighthearted Reflections on the Heart of God for Humanity is a humble effort by a long-time Christian public educator and traveler to use his somewhat unique style and experiences to communicate to his graduating students, and to anyone else who might “come along for the read,” the wonders of a life-consuming relationship with God. Much of the content is also inspired by reflections on the sacrament of Communion, and thus the book may be of interest to a broader audience than just to graduates embarking on the next stage of life. Part one of the book seeks to introduce the Christian faith to those who may be unfamiliar with the Gospel message—that the Author and Creator of the Universe seeks communion, or a personal relationship, with anyone willing to embrace the death, resurrection, and Lordship of Jesus Christ in order to receive salvation from the consequences of disobedience to God. Part two encourages lifelong enrollment in the class of learning to be like Jesus Christ in preparation for becoming citizens of, and for introducing others into, the Kingdom of God. Finally, part three of Let the Communion Commence reflects on the ultimate commencement—the beginning of never-ending life in the presence of our Creator. Class is about to begin. Please join me.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: If God were ever to get "homesick" for any of the houses of worship on earth, where would that be? What events at that location would provoke the eternal mind of God to label that house as His favorite-to forever memorialize it in His own memory? Man seeks God encounters at what he calls "God's house," but God seeks man encounters at what He calls "man's house." Remember the names? "Moses' Tabernacle," "David's Tabernacle," "Solomon's Temple"? God has searched the earth for intimate worship since the Garden of Eden. What would happen if the ancient patterns and old blueprints were rediscovered? What if the anointed practices were refreshed and restored? If we could "rebuild" that house, would He "revisit"? With the landscape littered with multi-million dollar steeples piercing God's atmosphere and stained windows coloring His sunshine, it would seem that the choice of His favorite house would be elaborate. Prepare to be surprised as you discover God's Favorite House. This expanded version of God's Favorite House, by best selling author Tommy Tenney, includes the never before released Study Guide.
