Download or read book Advanced Techniques for Maintenance Modeling and Reliability Analysis of Repairable Systems written by Garima Sharma and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2023-11-07 with total page 228 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ADVANCED TECHNIQUES FOR MAINTENANCE MODELING AND RELIABILITY ANALYSIS OF REPAIRABLE SYSTEMS This book covers advanced models and methodologies for reliability analysis of large, complex, and critical repairable systems that undergo imperfect maintenance actions in industries having MRO facilities and also covers real-life examples from the field of aviation. The content presented in this book is inspired by the existing limitations of the generalized renewal process (GRP) model and the problems confronted by the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) facilities in industries dealing with large and complex repairable systems. Through this book, the authors have attempted to equip the MRO facilities with more advanced scientific tools and techniques by addressing various limitations related to the reliability analysis of repairable systems. The book is dedicated to various imperfect maintenance-based virtual age models and methodologies to bridge various research gaps present in the available literature. A summary of deliverables is as follows: Presents the basic concepts of maintenance and provides a virtual age model that can accommodate all maintenance; Provides the basic concepts of censoring in repairable systems along with the concept of black box and failure modes. Also highlighted is how the proposed work will be useful for industries conducting failure modes and effect analysis (FMEA) and estimating the mean residual life (MRL) of repairable systems; Presents methodology that applies risk-based threshold on intensity function and provides a threshold to declare the system/component as high failure rate components (HFRCs); Identifying a system as HFRCs is an important task, but for an industry dealing with critical systems, preventing the system from being HFRC is more important, since the risk involved in such systems would be very high. Thus, the book presents a progressive maintenance policy (PMP) for repairable systems; Focusses on qualitative analysis of repair quality. Assuming repair quality as a subjective variable, the authors have presented various factors that affect the repair quality most and modeled their interdependency using Bayesian networks (BN). Audience Professional reliability engineers, reliability administrators, consultants, managers, and post-graduate students in engineering schools. The book belongs to any engineering, technical, and academic institution concerned with manufacturing, production, aviation, defense, and software industries.

Download or read book Advanced Analytics and Deep Learning Models written by Archana Mire and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2022-05-03 with total page 436 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Advanced Analytics and Deep Learning Models The book provides readers with an in-depth understanding of concepts and technologies related to the importance of analytics and deep learning in many useful real-world applications such as e-healthcare, transportation, agriculture, stock market, etc. Advanced analytics is a mixture of machine learning, artificial intelligence, graphs, text mining, data mining, semantic analysis. It is an approach to data analysis. Beyond the traditional business intelligence, it is a semi and autonomous analysis of data by using different techniques and tools. However, deep learning and data analysis both are high centers of data science. Almost all the private and public organizations collect heavy amounts of data, i.e., domain-specific data. Many small/large companies are exploring large amounts of data for existing and future technology. Deep learning is also exploring large amounts of unsupervised data making it beneficial and effective for big data. Deep learning can be used to deal with all kinds of problems and challenges that include collecting unlabeled and uncategorized raw data, extracting complex patterns from a large amount of data, retrieving fast information, tagging data, etc. This book contains 16 chapters on artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and their uses in many useful sectors like stock market prediction, a recommendation system for better service selection, e-healthcare, telemedicine, transportation. There are also chapters on innovations and future opportunities with fog computing/cloud computing and artificial intelligence. Audience Researchers in artificial intelligence, big data, computer science, and electronic engineering, as well as industry engineers in healthcare, telemedicine, transportation, and the financial sector. The book will also be a great source for software engineers and advanced students who are beginners in the field of advanced analytics in deep learning.
Download or read book Advanced Numerical Methods for Complex Environmental Models Needs and Availability written by István Faragó and published by Bentham Science Publishers. This book was released on 2013-12-10 with total page 437 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: High air pollution levels pose a significant threat to plants, animals and human beings. Efforts by researchers are directed towards keeping air pollution levels below well defined ‘critical‘ levels in order to maintain a sustainable atmosphere and environmental system. The application of advanced mathematical models is important for researchers to achieve this goal as efficiently as possible. Mathematical models can be used to predict answers to many important questions about the environment. This application comes with several complex theoretical and practical obstacles which need to be resolved. A successfully applicable mathematical model needs to enable researchers to • Mathematically describe all important physical and chemical processes. • Apply fast and sufficiently accurate numerical methods. • Ensure that the model runs efficiently on modern high speed computers. • Use high quality input data, both meteorological data and emission inventories, in the runs. • Verify the model results by comparing them with reliable measurements taken in different parts of the spatial domain of the model. • Carry out long series of sensitivity experiments to check the response of the model to changes of different key parameters. • Visualize and animate the output results in order to make them easily understandable even to non-specialists. This monograph thoroughly describes mathematical methods useful for various situations in environmental modeling - including finite difference methods, splitting methods, parallel computation, etc. - and provides a framework for resolving problems posed in relation to the points listed above. Chapters are written by well-known specialists making this book a handy reference for researchers, university teachers and students working and studying in the areas of air pollution, meteorology, applied mathematics and computer science.

Download or read book Advanced Kalman Filtering Least Squares and Modeling written by Bruce P. Gibbs and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2011-03-29 with total page 559 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is intended primarily as a handbook for engineers who must design practical systems. Its primary goal is to discuss model development in sufficient detail so that the reader may design an estimator that meets all application requirements and is robust to modeling assumptions. Since it is sometimes difficult to a priori determine the best model structure, use of exploratory data analysis to define model structure is discussed. Methods for deciding on the “best” model are also presented. A second goal is to present little known extensions of least squares estimation or Kalman filtering that provide guidance on model structure and parameters, or make the estimator more robust to changes in real-world behavior. A third goal is discussion of implementation issues that make the estimator more accurate or efficient, or that make it flexible so that model alternatives can be easily compared. The fourth goal is to provide the designer/analyst with guidance in evaluating estimator performance and in determining/correcting problems. The final goal is to provide a subroutine library that simplifies implementation, and flexible general purpose high-level drivers that allow both easy analysis of alternative models and access to extensions of the basic filtering.
