Wolf's texts were modernized somewhat in spelling; the only further change which the present editor has made is to bring the accents up to date. A few variants given by Wolf have been incorporated in the text, but no arbitrary changes are made. The poems are printed entire, with two exceptions, via. One line in no. XII, and three in no. XXXVI. Wolf sup pressed all the paragogic o's, in accordance with a theory which has since been overthrown. In no. XLIII the o's have been restored after the text of the Silva dc Varios Romances, 1602 (ticknor Library), to serve as sample.
