Though there are uncountable universes, there is only one Nexus Universe. The progenitor universe from which all the others have originated from. Those within the Nexus Universe have the ‘ability’ to enter any of the others. The Nexus Universe has a problem though, a man named Hessler, who embodies the ‘Antithesis’ spirit, has made it his quest to conquer not only the Nexus Universe, but the other parallel universes as well. To achieve this, Hessler has been using an army comprised of men and orcs, numbering a million. He must also attain the ‘Crystal Sword’, an incredible source of power. The ‘Crystal Sword’ had been hidden in the caverns of one of the kingdoms of the dwarves. Protecting it are wizards, men, elves and the dwarves themselves. They cannot use the ‘Sword’, only one embodied with either the ‘Antithesis’ spirit, or the ‘Sovereign’ Spirit can, and the one embodied with the ‘Sovereign’ spirit, is in another universe. They must find him in the hope of stopping Hessler. Mariah, a searcher in the caverns, has found the prophecy that will lead them to the universe that the ‘Sovereign’ is in. Taking it to the seekers, Mariah is informed that she must be the one to enter the ‘Sovereigns’ universe and bring him to them. There isn’t much time and they have no idea what the ‘Sovereign’ will be like, but he is their only hope. Hessler and his orc army, are almost upon them.

Book Why I Love the Apostle Paul

Download or read book Why I Love the Apostle Paul written by John Piper and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2019-01-17 with total page 178 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Besides Jesus, no one has kept me from despair, or taken me deeper into the mysteries of the gospel, than the apostle Paul." —John Piper No one has had a greater impact on the world for eternal good than the apostle Paul—except Jesus himself. For John Piper, this impact is very personal. He does not just admire and trust Paul. He loves him. Piper gives us thirty glimpses into why his heart and mind respond this way. Can a Christian-killer really endure 195 lashes from a heart of love? Can a mystic who thinks he was caught up into heaven be a model of lucid rationality? Can an ethnocentric Jew write the most beautiful call to reconciliation? Can a person who lives with the unceasing anguish of empathy be always rejoicing? Can a man's description of the horrors of human sin be exceeded by his delight in human splendor? Can a man with a backbone of steel be as tender as a nursing mother? If we know this man—if we see what Piper sees—we too will love him. Paul's testimony is a matter of life and death. Piper invites you into his relationship with Paul in the hope that you will know life, forever.

Book excerpt: The powerful transgender teenage superhero returns in this action-packed sequel to Dreadnought. Only nine months after her debut as the superhero Dreadnought, Danny Tozer is already a scarred veteran. Protecting a city the size of New Port is a team-sized job and she’s doing it alone. Between her newfound celebrity and her demanding cape duties, Dreadnought is stretched thin, and it’s only going to get worse. When she crosses a newly discovered billionaire supervillain, Dreadnought comes under attack from all quarters. From her troubled family life to her disintegrating friendship with Calamity, there’s no lever too cruel for this villain to use against her. She might be hard to kill, but there's more than one way to destroy a hero. Before the war is over, Dreadnought will be forced to confront parts of herself she never wanted to acknowledge. And behind it all, an old enemy waits in the wings, ready to unleash a plot that will scar the world forever. “Daniels doesn’t just perfectly “queer the capes,” she delivers a book that’s tightly packed with brilliantly rendered fights, nail-biting scenes of peril, emotional authenticity, and a perfect first kiss.”—Kirkus Reviews “An extremely compelling narrative…An uplifting kind of book.”—Tor.com “Danny is so real that even when she is flying around in space throwing punches at a bazillion miles per hour, she is 100% believable.”—Locus “A well-crafted story, filled with charming characters and nerve-wracking narratives that keep the reader enthralled.”—Lambda Literary

Book Sovereign Erotics

Download or read book Sovereign Erotics written by Qwo-Li Driskill and published by University of Arizona Press. This book was released on 2021-03-02 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Two-Spirit people, identified by many different tribally specific names and standings within their communities, have been living, loving, and creating art since time immemorial. It wasn’t until the 1970s, however, that contemporary queer Native literature gained any public notice. Even now, only a handful of books address it specifically, most notably the 1988 collection Living the Spirit: A Gay American Indian Anthology. Since that book’s publication twenty-three years ago, there has not been another collection published that focuses explicitly on the writing and art of Indigenous Two-Spirit and Queer people. This landmark collection strives to reflect the complexity of identities within Native Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Two-Spirit (GLBTQ2) communities. Gathering together the work of established writers and talented new voices, this anthology spans genres (fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and essay) and themes (memory, history, sexuality, indigeneity, friendship, family, love, and loss) and represents a watershed moment in Native American and Indigenous literatures, Queer studies, and the intersections between the two. Collaboratively, the pieces in Sovereign Erotics demonstrate not only the radical diversity among the voices of today’s Indigenous GLBTQ2 writers but also the beauty, strength, and resilience of Indigenous GLBTQ2 people in the twenty-first century. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Thank you very much for inviting me to read this book. I found it to be a real spiritual journey-a refresher to a relationship I have enjoyed with our Lord for sixty years and a treasure trove of new insights and clarifications that serve to strengthen my faith in God." -Jack Conlin, CPA, CGMA, retired, director of corporate finance, the Salvation Army, US Southern Territory God Wants a Deeper Relationship with You! This book digs deeper into exploring many of the challenges we face in establishing and maintaining a meaningful relationship with God. Unfortunately, there are many differing viewpoints out there in the Christian community about this which is creating much confusion. We hear messages saying God is in control of every single thing. We hear we must listen for the voice of God. We hear God has a plan for our lives. We hear we are to get out of the way and let God handle our problems. We hear various ideas of how the Holy Spirit works. We hear God's providence will protect us from harm. Many people are being drawn to Christian teachings which speak of a mighty God who wants to regularly do big, audacious, and miraculous things in people's lives. Although this sounds enticing, how does God really interact with us and our world? To dig deeper, we must question more. Therefore, topics are addressed with probing questions and insightful analysis. So we ask, "How important is it for us to find the truth about God?" If faith is built on false premises, how good can that faith be? Many topics are addressed, and each chapter is full of interesting details. This book is also a great resource for Bible classes and sermon material.
