At the present rate at least 5,000,000 of the people now living in the United States will die of tuberculosis. 5. Typhoid fever costs the nation $350,000,000 annually. 6. There are 3,000,000 cases of sickness from malaria every year in the United States, causing a loss of $100,000,000. 7. Of the 892,000 persons of all ages taken at random in the United States and examined for hookworm, thirty-four per cent were suffering from this disease. It is estimated...
