Dixie, riddled with guilt that her victim has now become her champion, vows to change her ways and decides to live at the beach and not return to Spartanburg where the Dollies are always watching. The play calls for one stationary set decorated in two different ways, the ultra-contemporary living room of the beach house, Atlantis, for Act 1 and the seedy Rendezvous Motel room for Act 2.
