Book excerpt: In today's fluid culture, many churches are adrift--longing to reach spiritually thirsty people, but failing to make an impact. Have you noticed? Congregations are stuck or declining. Millennials and Gen Z are walking away. Volunteers and their generosity are drying up. Is your city, town, or neighborhood spiritually dry? Do you long to see more of the living water of Jesus flowing freely through your community, generating a fresh wave of ministry momentum? Buckle up: you're in for a whitewater ride! Liquid Church tells the fascinating story of a New Jersey church that began "on accident" and grew into one of America's 100 Fastest-Growing Churches, with over 5,000 in weekly attendance and more than 2,400 baptisms to date. Their secret? They harnessed the power of six powerful ministry currents sweeping across North America including: special needs, creative communication, ministry mergers, compassionate cause, radical generosity, and leadership development. With powerful stories and scriptural insights, backed by national research, Tim Lucas and Warren Bird describe dozens of fresh ideas, new ministry wineskins, and hard-won leadership learnings that resonate with rising generations in today's "show-then-tell" culture. Each chapter includes practical tools, real-life examples, and links to "Other Churches Making Waves" with cutting-edge ministry ideas designed to help saturate your city for Christ. Ready to dive deeper? Whether you serve a brand-new church plant, fast-growing congregation, or an aging ministry ready for reinvention, Liquid Church is an inspiring and practical guide for leaders ready to reach their spiritually thirsty neighbors--those who have given up on church, but haven't given up on God.

Download or read book Church and People in Interregnum Britain written by Fiona Mccall and published by . This book was released on 2021-05-30 with total page 250 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The English Civil War was followed by a period of unprecedented religious tolerance and the spread of new religious ideas and practices. Britain experienced a period of so-called "Godly religious rule" and a breakdown of religious uniformity that was perceived as a threat to social order by some and a welcome innovation to others. The period of Godly religious rule has been significantly neglected by historians--we know remarkably little about religious organization or experience at a parochial level in the 1640s and 1650s. This volume addresses these issues by investigating important questions concerning the relationship between religion and society in the years between the first Civil War and the Restoration. How did ordinary people experience this period of dramatic upheaval? How did religious imperatives change and develop? Did people resist Godly imperatives? With its nuanced analysis of Cromwell's England, Church and People in Interregnum Britain will interest religious scholars, enthusiasts of military history, and public historians.

Download or read book The Angelic Conflict written by Pastor Robert R. McLaughlin and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-05-03 with total page 371 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robert R. McLaughlin is the pastor of Grace Bible Church in Somerset, Massachusetts and the President of Robert McLaughlin Bible Ministries. Both ministries are non-denominational grace ministries dedicated to teaching the Word of God from the original languages and making it available at no charge throughout the world. For over 30 years Pastor McLaughlin has taught from the original languages of scripture, The Ministry is dedicated to equipping the believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to live the life that the Lord has designed for them. This is a life of contentment and strength as we go through the inevitable problems and challenges that life brings. Like it or not, believe it or not, we are all a part of an Angelic Conflict. One can hardly live in today’s society and not come across the concept of good versus evil. Books, movies, video games, news, it is found everywhere. It is actually a measure of Satan’s genius that he uses all of these things to disguise, obscure, and pervert the truth. This book explains why most people, including many Christians, are unable to associate the events of their lives with the big picture, the Angelic Conflict itself. The Bible teaches that before the creation of man, a conflict arose between God and His angels, when Satan attempted to ascend to the Mount of Heaven and wrestle God’s ruler-ship away from Him. The resulting battle left the surface of the earth in ruins, at this point the earth was packed in ice. Presumably it was at this time that the trial occurred in which Satan and the angels that followed him were found guilty and sentenced to the Lake of Fire. Since Satan is obviously not yet in the Lake of Fire, the logical conclusion is that he appealed his sentence. We can speculate a number of grounds on which he is making this appeal. One is an accusation against God’s character that we hear often enough in life: How can a loving God cast His creatures into hell? To answer this appeal, God created man, a lower being, and set him in the great stadium of earth for all the angels to observe. God would take on the form of this lower being Himself. He would allow sinful man to abuse and mock Him, and finally to nail Him to a Roman Cross in an attempt to destroy Him. Our Lord Jesus Christ would then bear the penalty for the sins of all mankind. By doing so He neutralized the claims His justice had against us, so that we could live with Him and fellowship with Him forever. This book unlocks the secrets of the Angelic Conflict!
