Book Grieving the Loss of Someone Who Is Still Very Much Alive

Download or read book Grieving the Loss of Someone Who Is Still Very Much Alive written by R. Marít and published by Dorrance Publishing. This book was released on 2024-05-17 with total page 249 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “I am holding a funeral for everything we used to be burying the remains of what could have been deep beneath the earth and the hardest part is mourning the death of someone who is very much still alive...” Invoking the five stages of grief, Grieving the Loss of Someone Who Is Still Very Much Alive is a heartrending collection of poetry chronicling the aftermath of a break-up. For anyone that has ever had their heart broken by the death of a relationship, these poems put words to those feelings of abandonment, anger, and grief over a love lost. About the Author I am an artist of many mediums. I find that words happen to be one of the most powerful forms of art; while being referred to as the greatest weapon, words may also bring people together. The vulnerability of placing some of my deepest thoughts into visible context for the public to relate to is one of the more challenging things about being an artist, regardless of the creative medium. I have also always been passionate about taking care of people, and I use my art as a way to express a relatable standpoint for the reader to relate to during especially during time where they may be feeling alone, or as a way to connect and show that we all must go through grief at some point in our lives.

Book Starting a Successful Practice in Clinical Psychology and Counseling

Download or read book Starting a Successful Practice in Clinical Psychology and Counseling written by Owen J. Bargreen and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-10-08 with total page 192 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Clinical psychology is a quickly growing profession, yet it is a challenging one: the preparation is arduous, the training is highly selective, and the results – an established and financially successful practice – are not easy to achieve. This book explains how to prepare for and surmount all of the hurdles presented to those who hope to eventually develop a lucrative and rewarding practice in clinical psychology. It is the first of its kind to focus primarily on financial success, though it does also look at the personal stresses and rewards of the profession. The author provides tips from his own experience and from other financially successful private practice psychologists and offers business techniques and pointers that are not explained in training programs. Undergraduate students contemplating a career in psychology will find advice on preparing for the GRE, applying to graduate schools, and getting involved in research and clinical work. For graduate students, an overview of a graduate clinical psychology program, preparing and completing a dissertation, and gaining experience in psychological testing are provided. Chapters then focus on how to build and manage a private practice, the best ways to manage personal and business finances, and how to practice good self-care. Additionally, the book includes a chapter by an expert on student-loan repayment that examines how to best work through the process of paying back student loans while building a practice.
