Book Mother Please Let Me Go

Download or read book Mother Please Let Me Go written by H.D. Graham and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-01-28 with total page 198 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is about my exciting and wonderful career in the United States Air Force. I listed my various assignment in the order in which they occurred and outlined the major events in my life while at each base. Every assignment had a lot of good points and some that wasn’t that great but I tried to focus on the exciting things. A large portion of the book deals with my assignments in Vietnam and events that still haunt me today. The events in the book start when I was a senior in high school trying to talk my Mother into giving me permission to enlist just as soon as I turn 17 years old. I also wrote about some of the interesting things while in high school and about my large family. I felt that it might be of interest to the reader to know that between all my brothers and I we accumulated over 170 years of military service to our country. I ended the book with some events that happened while I was teaching and the jetliner that I observed on 10 Sep 01 practicing for the flight across southern Pennsylvania that crashed on 9/11.

Book WHAT DO I DO WITH MY PAIN

Download or read book WHAT DO I DO WITH MY PAIN written by Ann Gwen Mack and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-12-11 with total page 484 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: WHAT DO I DO WITH MY PAIN? Preparing for church on October 10, 2010, I was reminded of the ways in which I was being used by God in accomplishing HIS will. I am truly grateful, appreciative and remorseful all at the same time. Remorseful because I can remember a time I not only ran from God and what HE had to offer me, but I doubted HIS existence. Grateful because in spite of me and my past, God still loved me [John 15:13] and wanted nothing but the best for me. Appreciative because God never stopped trying to reach me! In creating me for a purpose with a purpose, HE was persistent in HIS approach in making sure I receive my inheritance. Persistent to the point of revealing HIMSELF to me and allowing me to see myself through HIS eyes! My passion for God this day is nothing like I would have imagined. Great is my boldness of speech toward YOU, great is my glorying of YOU: I am filled with comfort, I am exceedingly joyful in all my tribulation. [2 Corinthians 7] Ordering my steps while rebuilding my confidence (trust, belief) and faith in HIM, God was training me to be fearless and teaching me to fight for the uplifting of the Kingdom. Finally, unselfishly yielding myself to HIM, HE gradually enlightened me to HIS plan for my life. Then I realized God was and is with me always as I gladly accepted my assignment in knowing God was deliberately putting me in situations [sending me in places where there was darkness to be HIS light]. Once I was in, God gave me no way out as HE forced me to stand and fight. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. [Romans 8:15] So, this is not a time for passivity! It is a time for all of God's children to join in Spirit as we connect to God's heart in fulfilling HIS will.

Laurie Ahmadi has worked as a 911 police dispatcher in her quiet Northern California town for almost two decades, but nothing in her nearly twenty years of experience could prepare her for the worst call of her career—her teenage daughter, Jojo, is on the other end of the line. She is drugged, disoriented, and in pain, and even though the whole police department springs into action, there is nothing Laurie can do to help. Jojo, who has been sexually assaulted, doesn’t remember how she ended up at the home of Kevin Leeds, a pro football player famous for his work with the Citizens Against Police Brutality movement, though she insists he would never hurt her. And she has no idea where her best friend, Harper, who was with her earlier in the evening, could be. As Jojo and Laurie begin digging into Harper’s private messages on social media to look for clues to her whereabouts, they uncover a conspiracy far bigger than they ever could have imagined. With Kevin’s freedom on the line and the chances of finding Harper unharmed slipping away, Laurie and Jojo begin to realize that they can’t trust anyone to find Harper except themselves, not even the police department they’ve long considered family . . . and time is running out.

Book Reflections of a Self Made Man

Download or read book Reflections of a Self Made Man written by Doug Smith and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2010-07-27 with total page 301 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Through these pages youll experience two very true and meaningful love stories. Ive seen love from both sides now. That doesnt mean in winning or losing. In both of these encounters of the heart I dont consider either one as a loss. Carol taught me how to open up my heart and receive love unconditionally. I loved her with my total being. Charlotte proves to me every day that she loves me unconditionally. Both of these incredible women had and have my heart in nothing less than total commitment. You will also experience a victory over a life long and very personal issue. Gender disorders are very serious in nature; for they are fooling with Mother Nature. We exist with invisible birth defects that are very visible to us. Some of us dont make it to the victory party of our bodys emergence. Some of us try to cut out the parts that shouldnt be there. Many die, or try to escape with drugs or alcohol. Ive told the story with my usual sense of humor, honesty and passion for life. These are all very important traits that have helped me survive during my journey. Now Im looking to the future with a new body and name, more fi tting to my heart, soul and spirit. Some people may not agree with what I have done. I challenge them to read Refl ections with an open heart and mind, imagining themselves in my shoes walking down the same path.

Book excerpt: “For most of my life, I have been thinking I was in control of situations, people, outcomes, and reactions, and that if I just held on tight enough or forced my way enough, then everything would be okay.” Follow Christy Hardin on her spiritual journey in this heart-warming, faith-filled book, as she shares how life’s challenges ultimately taught her to submit her control to God in order to grow her faith and her relationship with Him. Blink tells her story of being a teen mom and how she, after a failed relationship with a drug-addicted boyfriend and after having to make a traumatic, life-altering decision, went on to find the true love of her life and create a large, beautiful family. Hardin imparts how being a young, single mother, losing her father, and later accepting the diagnosis of autism for one of her children required releasing control and allowing God to be the center of all of her relationships. Hardin’s transparency and vulnerability will not only bring you to tears, but will entice you to have more compassion for those around you and perhaps even investigate your own faith journey.
