Book Limit Theorems for Markov Chains and Stochastic Properties of Dynamical Systems by Quasi Compactness

Download or read book Limit Theorems for Markov Chains and Stochastic Properties of Dynamical Systems by Quasi Compactness written by Hubert Hennion and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-08 with total page 150 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book shows how techniques from the perturbation theory of operators, applied to a quasi-compact positive kernel, may be used to obtain limit theorems for Markov chains or to describe stochastic properties of dynamical systems. A general framework for this method is given and then applied to treat several specific cases. An essential element of this work is the description of the peripheral spectra of a quasi-compact Markov kernel and of its Fourier-Laplace perturbations. This is first done in the ergodic but non-mixing case. This work is extended by the second author to the non-ergodic case. The only prerequisites for this book are a knowledge of the basic techniques of probability theory and of notions of elementary functional analysis.

Book Ergodic Behavior of Markov Processes

Download or read book Ergodic Behavior of Markov Processes written by Alexei Kulik and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2017-11-20 with total page 268 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The general topic of this book is the ergodic behavior of Markov processes. A detailed introduction to methods for proving ergodicity and upper bounds for ergodic rates is presented in the first part of the book, with the focus put on weak ergodic rates, typical for Markov systems with complicated structure. The second part is devoted to the application of these methods to limit theorems for functionals of Markov processes. The book is aimed at a wide audience with a background in probability and measure theory. Some knowledge of stochastic processes and stochastic differential equations helps in a deeper understanding of specific examples. Book Local Limit Theorems for Inhomogeneous Markov Chains

Download or read book Local Limit Theorems for Inhomogeneous Markov Chains written by Dmitry Dolgopyat and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-31 with total page 348 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book extends the local central limit theorem to Markov chains whose state spaces and transition probabilities are allowed to change in time. Such chains are used to model Markovian systems depending on external time-dependent parameters. The book develops a new general theory of local limit theorems for additive functionals of Markov chains, in the regimes of local, moderate, and large deviations, and provides nearly optimal conditions for the classical expansions, as well as asymptotic corrections when these conditions fail. Applications include local limit theorems for independent but not identically distributed random variables, Markov chains in random environments, and time-dependent perturbations of homogeneous Markov chains. The inclusion of appendices with background material, numerous examples, and an account of the historical background of the subject make this self-contained book accessible to graduate students. It will also be useful for researchers in probability and ergodic theory who are interested in asymptotic behaviors, Markov chains in random environments, random dynamical systems and non-stationary systems.

Book Limit Theorems For Associated Random Fields And Related Systems

Download or read book Limit Theorems For Associated Random Fields And Related Systems written by Alexander Bulinski and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2007-09-05 with total page 447 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is devoted to the study of asymptotic properties of wide classes of stochastic systems arising in mathematical statistics, percolation theory, statistical physics and reliability theory. Attention is paid not only to positive and negative associations introduced in the pioneering papers by Harris, Lehmann, Esary, Proschan, Walkup, Fortuin, Kasteleyn and Ginibre, but also to new and more general dependence conditions. Naturally, this scope comprises families of independent real-valued random variables. A variety of important results and examples of Markov processes, random measures, stable distributions, Ising ferromagnets, interacting particle systems, stochastic differential equations, random graphs and other models are provided. For such random systems, it is worthwhile to establish principal limit theorems of the modern probability theory (central limit theorem for random fields, weak and strong invariance principles, functional law of the iterated logarithm etc.) and discuss their applications. There are 434 items in the bibliography. The book is self-contained, provides detailed proofs, for reader's convenience some auxiliary results are included in the Appendix (e.g. the classical Hoeffding lemma, basic electric current theory etc.).

Book Fluctuations in Markov Processes

Download or read book Fluctuations in Markov Processes written by Tomasz Komorowski and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-07-05 with total page 494 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The present volume contains the most advanced theories on the martingale approach to central limit theorems. Using the time symmetry properties of the Markov processes, the book develops the techniques that allow us to deal with infinite dimensional models that appear in statistical mechanics and engineering (interacting particle systems, homogenization in random environments, and diffusion in turbulent flows, to mention just a few applications). The first part contains a detailed exposition of the method, and can be used as a text for graduate courses. The second concerns application to exclusion processes, in which the duality methods are fully exploited. The third part is about the homogenization of diffusions in random fields, including passive tracers in turbulent flows (including the superdiffusive behavior). There are no other books in the mathematical literature that deal with this kind of approach to the problem of the central limit theorem. Hence, this volume meets the demand for a monograph on this powerful approach, now widely used in many areas of probability and mathematical physics. The book also covers the connections with and application to hydrodynamic limits and homogenization theory, so besides probability researchers it will also be of interest also to mathematical physicists and analysts.
