Book Halogenated Benzenes Toluenes and Phenols with Water

Download or read book Halogenated Benzenes Toluenes and Phenols with Water written by Ari L. Horvath and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Solubility Data Series, Volume 20: Halogenated Benzenes, Toluenes and Phenols with Water contains a comprehensive collection and critical evaluation of published solubility data for halogenated benzenes, halogenated toluenes, and halogenated phenols in water prior to 1983. This volume is concerned entirely with the solubility behavior for condensed systems, such as solid or liquid solutes in liquid solvents, including the general behavior of the evaluated solubilities of water in various organic constituents as a function of temperature. This book focuses on liquid-liquid, solid-liquid, and multicomponent (organic-water-salt) systems. The solubilities of ordinary water and heavy water that have been determined in 29 organic liquids, which in all cases the heavy water was found less soluble than the ordinary water are also elaborated. The halogenated compounds outlined in this text have been organized according to the Hill System. This publication is beneficial to chemists and students concerned with the solubility data for halogenated benzenes, halogenated toluenes, and halogenated phenols in water.

Book Handbook of Physical Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals Second Edition

Download or read book Handbook of Physical Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals Second Edition written by Donald Mackay and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2006-03-14 with total page 1000 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Transport and transformation processes are key for determining how humans and other organisms are exposed to chemicals. These processes are largely controlled by the chemicals’ physical-chemical properties. This new edition of the Handbook of Physical-Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals is a comprehensive series in four volumes that serves as a reference source for environmentally relevant physical-chemical property data of numerous groups of chemical substances. The handbook contains physical-chemical property data from peer-reviewed journals and other valuable sources on over 1200 chemicals of environmental concern. The handbook contains new data on the temperature dependence of selected physical-chemical properties, which allows scientists and engineers to perform better chemical assessments for climatic conditions outside the 20–25-degree range for which property values are generally reported. This second edition of the Handbook of Physical-Chemical Properties and Environmental Fate for Organic Chemicals is an essential reference for university libraries, regulatory agencies, consultants, and industry professionals, particularly those concerned with chemical synthesis, emissions, fate, persistence, long-range transport, bioaccumulation, exposure, and biological effects of chemicals in the environment. This resource is also available on CD-ROM

Book Solubility Data Series

    Book Details:
  • Author : R.W. Cargill
  • Publisher : Elsevier
  • Release : 2013-10-22
  • ISBN : 1483286150
  • Pages : 331 pages

Download or read book Solubility Data Series written by R.W. Cargill and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 331 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume in the Solubility Data Series contains tabulated collections and critical evaluations of original data for the solubility of carbon monoxide in a variety of liquid solvents. The solvents include water, aqueous and non-aqueous salt solutions, a variety of hydrocarbons, a variety of oxygen-containing, halogen-containing, sulfur-containing, and nitrogen-containing organic compounds, and also some biological fluids with which carbon monoxide has an important interaction. The data were gathered from a search of the world's chemical literature through to the end of 1988, and make up a unique and valuable historical survey of the solubility of carbon monoxide. Their publication is timely in view of current concern about carbon monoxide as an atmospheric pollutant, and in view of the role which carbon monoxide is likely to play in the future, as chemical feedstocks may have to change in response to supply and demand patterns, and as alternative energy sources are developed, especially coal gasification technology. For all of these applications, and for numerous others, this volume of well documented and critically evaluated gas solubility data will be of tremendous benefit.
