Book The Key to Solomon s Key

Download or read book The Key to Solomon s Key written by Lon Milo DuQuette and published by CCC Publishing. This book was released on 2010-04-01 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Sketching out a fascinating network of historic figures, cults, and Christendom, this book by an occult-studies expert and respected authority on magic and sorcery takes Western spiritual traditions seriously—but examines them with common sense and self-effacing humor. Working backward from the Freemasons to one of their original orders, the 14th-century Knights Templar, the account considers sorcery, heresy, and intrigues; explores the legend that the Knights possessed a powerful secret dangerous to the Church of Rome; and finds an essential clue to the order's practices in their connection to the biblical Solomon, king of Israel in the 10th century BC. This updated edition features new images, chapters on important symbols, and a new preface.

Book The Wise Master Builder Platonic Geometry in Plans of Medieval Abbeys and Cathederals

Download or read book The Wise Master Builder Platonic Geometry in Plans of Medieval Abbeys and Cathederals written by Nigel Hiscock and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-05-08 with total page 462 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2000: Did the plan of medieval churches have any underlying symbolic meaning? This work re-opens the debate about the importance of geometry and symbolism in medieval architectural design and argues the case for attributing an intellectual meaning to the planning of abbeys and cathedrals. In challenging prevailing claims for the use of arithmetical rations in architectural design, notably those based on the square root of two, Dr Hiscock advances a perspective consisting of proportions derived from the figures of Platonic geometry - the square, the equilateral triangle and the pentagon - and provides evidence for the symbolic interpretation of these figures. The investigation further reveals whole series of geometric relationships between some of England's most celebrated Norman cathedrals, such as Norwich or Durham, together with a wide sample from the Continent, from Old St Peter's in Rome to Chartres Cathedral, and sets out a comprehensive design method in each case. Hiscock first demonstrates the proposition that the ideas of Christian Platonism, including number and geometry, remained current and were employed in the thought of the early Middle Ages. In particular, he argues that they can be associated with the leading persons in the 10th-century revival of monasticism and that they found expression in the "white mantle of churches" that spread across Western Europe at the end of the first millennium AD. The book then provides a detailed analysis of the geometric proportions of church plans between the 9th and 12th centuries in Germany, France and in England. This research seeks to demonstrate that a coherent sequence of geometric forms can be seen in thse plans, forms which correspond to the key figures of Platonic geometry as understood in the context of Christian Platonist thought. In conclusion, the author shows how the system of design proposed could be set out on site using the known working methods of medieval masons.

Download or read book The Ministry Vol 10 No 01 written by Various Authors and published by Living Stream Ministry. This book was released on 2006-02-01 with total page 243 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This issue of The Ministry contains a complete record of the twelve messages given during the 2005 winter training on the Crystallization-study of the Building of God, held December 26-31 in Anaheim, California. The crucial truth and burden embodied in these twelve messages may be summarized in four statements: (1) The building of God is the processed Triune God wrought into us so that under His continual dispensing we become His enlargement, expansion, and corporate expression. (2) The three tabernacles--the type of the tabernacle, the reality of the tabernacle, and the consummation of the tabernacle--reveal the goal of God's economy to have a corporate people to be His dwelling place for His expression and representation in eternity. (3) The intrinsic element of the work of the divine building is to minister the building and builded God into others for the building up of the Body of Christ. (4) The desire of God's heart is the building of God into man and the building of man into God for the building of a great corporate God-man, the New Jerusalem. These messages are being published immediately following the training in order that they may benefit the saints participating in the many video trainings that are held throughout the earth. The Reports section includes an update on the purchase of the Bower House property in England and highlights on how the new facility is being used to carry out the burden of the work in Europe. In the Announcements section we include the 2006 schedule of European and Middle Eastern events as well as a calendar, giving the dates and locations of the seven Living Stream Ministry conferences and trainings--the seven annual feasts--for 2006. One cannot measure the benefits derived during these feasts from the Lord's rich speaking in His ministry and the mutual blending and building up of the saints and the churches in the Lord's recovery from every continent.

Book The Secret of the Temple

Download or read book The Secret of the Temple written by John Michael Greer and published by Llewellyn Worldwide. This book was released on 2016-12-08 with total page 252 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over thousands of years, the priests and sages of the ancient world discovered that the design and location of certain structures had beneficial effects on the crops that sustained life. A body of traditional lore evolved, using architecture and ceremonies that made use of these wholly natural but mysterious effects. In The Secret of the Temple, John Michael Greer painstakingly rebuilds a body of lost knowledge that has been used to accumulate and direct energy throughout history, and can be used again today. The Temple of Solomon was only one of many ancient structures that drew on the temple tradition. The insights of this tradition have been passed down through those in society tasked with protecting ancient wisdom, secret societies like the Knights Templar and the Freemasons. But over time, as cultures and technologies changed, the meaning of these cryptic symbols and rituals became obscured...until now. This book explores the esoteric body of knowledge that shaped the world of our forebears, gave rise to the world's most awe-inspiring temples and cathedrals, and continues to fuel speculation about powerful forces at work in our world.

Book The Crusades the Templars and Freemasonry

Download or read book The Crusades the Templars and Freemasonry written by Rosaldo Bonnet and published by Rosaldo Bonnet. This book was released on 2023-04-07 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Europe and Christianity were at serious risk from the advance of the Muslims. The Catholic Church knew that for its strengthening in the old continent, it also depended on preventing the progress of the Arabs in the region. The Byzantine Empire, on the other hand, cornered by the Islamists, saw its domains gradually shrink, and if nothing was done, it would be a question of time before they fell under Muslim domination. And from this context, a call for help, a call for faith and an unprecedented mobilisation was the starting point for the Crusades. However, behind it all, many secrets, betrayals and hidden interests were disguised in the retaking of the Holy Land . This was the backdrop of Europe and the Middle East in the early 11th century, and after a vibrant speech, Urban II, in Clermont in France, sets out on a journey to reconquer Jerusalem and its holy sites. And in this scenario, the story develops from the first Crusade, evolving to the other crusades, to the creation of the Order of the Temple and its collapse, and finally to the building sites of the great cathedrals and operative freemasonry. A historical saga of wars, betrayals, dreams, wealth and power, involving the Church, the nobility, the Knights Templar and the Freemasons. In an exciting account of the period, with wealth of detail, and great revelations! The book narrates one of the bloodiest and troubled periods of the western world.
