Book Gaining Insight Into User and Search Engine Behaviour by Analyzing Web Logs

Download or read book Gaining Insight Into User and Search Engine Behaviour by Analyzing Web Logs written by Jeeva Jose and published by Anchor Academic Publishing. This book was released on 2016-11 with total page 213 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Web Usage Mining, also known as Web Log Mining, is the result of user interaction with a Web server including Web logs, click streams and database transaction or the visits of search engine crawlers at a Website. Log files provide an immense source of information about the behavior of users as well as search engine crawlers. Web Usage Mining concerns the usage of common browsing patterns, i.e. pages requested in sequence from Web logs. These patterns can be utilized to enhance the design and modification of a Website. Analyzing and discovering user behavior is helpful for understanding what online information users inquire and how they behave. The analyzed result can be used in intelligent online applications, refining Websites, improving search accuracy when seeking information and lead decision makers towards better decisions in changing markets, for instance by putting advertisements in ideal places. Similarly, the crawlers or spiders are accessing the Websites to index new and updated pages. These traces help to analyze the behavior of search engine crawlers. The log files are unstructured files and of huge size. These files need to be extracted and pre-processed before any data mining functionality to follow. Pre-processing is done in unique ways for each application. Two pre-processing algorithms are proposed based on indiscernibility relations in rough set theory which generates Equivalence Classes. The first algorithm generates a pre-processed file with successful user requests while the second one generates a pre-processed file for pre-fetching and caching purposes. Two algorithms are proposed to extract usage analytics. The first algorithm identifies the origin of visits, the top referring sites and the most popular keywords used by the visitor to arrive at a Website. The second algorithm extracts user agents like browsers and operating systems used by a visitor to access a Website. In this study, clustering of users based on Entry Pages to a Website is done to analyze the deep linked traffic at a Website. The Top Ten Entry Pages, the traffic and the temporal information of the Top Ten Entry Pages are also studied.

Book Aussie Impasse

  • Publisher : Xlibris Corporation
  • Release : 2019-02-23
  • ISBN : 1984504029
  • Pages : 349 pages

Download or read book Aussie Impasse written by Kevin Johnson and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2019-02-23 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the third book of a trilogy. The first was Aussie Pilot; the second, Aussie Knowhow; and now the final book of the series, Aussie Impasse. All books are pure fantasy and include some spectacular deductions, magic, science fiction, and illusionary events that many young Australian boys dreamed of well past the time they reached maturity. The merged happenings in most instances were created by other writers, films, or television exposures and were strung together to form the fictitious, exciting life of a hero and his friends. As previously stated, the book has been growing in the writer’s head since he was an adolescent and, over time, has been progressively added to, regurgitated, and reinvented. As the writer discovered them, they became merged until now, where it would seem they are no longer recognizable. The third book of the series is the end of the need to complete the story and hopefully to conclude an enjoyable reading experience—a mental escape, perhaps even a pleasing fantasy, for the patient and forgiving readers that inexplicably discovered this work. It is my sincere hope that when you all close the last page, you will have a pleasant smile on the face and will quietly say, “That was a satisfying read. I quite enjoyed the entire journey.” Again, my heartfelt thanks to my wife, Judy; my children Michelle, Vanessa, and David; and their children Matthew, Benjamin, Finn, Aislinn, Caelan, Neve, and Taya for providing the encouragement, support, and love that I needed so much to make me finish what I just had to start. So book 3 begins.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Bounded by dense Kodagu forests on the south and west, and rivers on the north and east, Perumbadi, at the border between Kerala and Karnataka, has hidden itself from the world. Its very isolation has attracted varied settlers from south Kerala over the years. The first settler on this land, Kunji Varkey, was fleeing the opprobrium of getting his own daughter pregnant. Those who followed had similar shameful secrets. Anthill, the exquisite translation from the Malayalam of the Kerala Sahitya Akademi-winning novel Puttu, is the story of common people who tried to wriggle out of the shackles of family, religion and other restraining institutions, but eventually also struggle to civilize themselves-from their beginnings of a hillbilly existence and life as a promiscuous community. As Perumbadi moves into modernity and feels the need for refined justice, Jeremias comes to be known by the moniker President and becomes the unchallenged adjudicator of Perumbadi, thanks to his equanimity and sense of fairness. However, even as he resolves local disputes, he is troubled by developments in his own home and by his own moral failure. One of the most promising young writers in Malayalam, Vinoy Thomas, in his bestselling second novel, deploys dark humour to question the moral codes that bind society. Ultimately, this is also a story about the human race.

Book The Place of God at the Bookends of the Bible

Download or read book The Place of God at the Bookends of the Bible written by David W. Larsen and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2023-10-09 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What if everything in the Bible has a larger outer context than is usually accounted for? Missional and biblical theologies suggest that the Bible presents a grand story like a play with multiple acts. The acts typically include creation, fall, redemption, and finally restoration. But what if the whole story itself occurs in another larger setting, occurring within a mission running in the background throughout the whole Bible? How might this aid our research, reading, and application? And why is this being proposed now? This book explores these questions. The larger context is the production of the place of God—a home and homeland wherein God, with his people, dwell on earth. Since place is underdeveloped in biblical studies, the book presents a new method for interpreting place. Then the book lays out the case that a grand mission to produce the place of God becomes the outer context for the whole Bible. Finally, the book defends this proposal with an in-depth placial commentary of the bookends of the Bible, since these bookends provide keys to unlock this message, thereby inviting further study on the rest of the Bible and on the implications for this transformative perspective.

Book Elric The Stealer of Souls

Download or read book Elric The Stealer of Souls written by Michael Moorcock and published by Del Rey. This book was released on 2008-02-19 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: “The stories here are the raw heart of Michael Moorcock. They are the spells that first drew me and all the numerous admirers of his work with whom I am acquainted into Moorcock’s luminous and captivating web.” –from the Foreword by Alan Moore, creator of V for Vendetta When Michael Moorcock began chronicling the adventures of the albino sorcerer Elric, last king of decadent Melniboné, and his sentient vampiric sword, Stormbringer, he set out to create a new kind of fantasy adventure, one that broke with tradition and reflected a more up-to-date sophistication of theme and style. The result was a bold and unique hero–weak in body, subtle in mind, dependent on drugs for the vitality to sustain himself–with great crimes behind him and a greater destiny ahead: a rock-and-roll antihero who would channel all the violent excesses of the sixties into one enduring archetype. Now, with a major film in development, here is the first volume of a dazzling collection of stories containing the seminal appearances of Elric and lavishly illustrated by award-winning artist John Picacio–plus essays, letters, maps, and other material. Adventures include “The Dreaming City,” “While the Gods Laugh,” “Kings in Darkness,” “Dead God’s Homecoming,” “Black Sword’s Brothers,” and “Sad Giant’s Shield.” An indispensable addition to any fantasy collection, Elric: The Stealer of Souls is an unmatched introduction to a brilliant writer and his most famous–or infamous–creation. “The most significant UK author of sword and sorcery, a form he has both borrowed from and transformed.” –The Encyclopedia of Fantasy From the Trade Paperback edition.

Book excerpt: In the Bengali speaking regions of Bangladesh and India, the Bengali term bede today often evokes stereotypical imaginations of itinerant people. Of highly contested origin, the term has in the last two hundred years become the pivotal element for categorising and portraying diverse service nomads of the Bengal region. Besides an analysis of their portrayal in ethnographic and Bengali fictional literature, this book traces causes, reasons, and processes that have led to an increasing perception of these so-called `Bedes' as being ethnically different from the sedentary majority population.

Book Geography and the Ascension Narrative in Acts

Download or read book Geography and the Ascension Narrative in Acts written by Matthew Sleeman and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2009-09-17 with total page 313 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book of Acts contains a strong geographical component. Yet readings of Acts typically ignore or marginalise geography's contribution to the construction of the narrative's theology. In this book Matthew Sleeman argues that Jesus' ascension into heaven is foundational for establishing the 'spatiality' of Acts, showing that the narrative's understanding of place and space is shaped decisively by Christ's heavenly location. Drawing on recent advances in geographical theory, Sleeman offers a 'spatial' interpretation that expands our vision of how space and place inform the theological impulses of Acts. Presenting a complement to conventional 'temporal' readings of Acts, he sheds new light on the theology of the book, and suggests new ways of reading not only Acts but also other New Testament texts. Sleeman's work combines innovative biblical scholarship with accessible and informative geographical analysis, and is suitable for those with research and teaching interests in human geography or biblical studies.

Book excerpt: Constructions of Space III engages with the great variety of sacred spaces set out and given meaning in the texts of the Hebrew Bible, early Jewish literature and the New Testament. Spatial-critical, as well as anthropological, philosophical and narrative perspectives are interacted with in creative ways and brought to bear on the spaces encountered within the texts. Among the concepts and themes explored are oppositional aspects such as holiness and danger/the profane, fear and hope, utopia and dystopia, and purity and impurity. The social and mythological significance of more 'grounded' places such as Jerusalem and Egypt, temples, burial places and threshing floors is considered alongside more ethereal and symbolic spaces like those of heaven, the last judgement and the kingdom of God. What emerges is a dynamic and lively set of perspectives that illuminates relationships between texts, spaces and communities.
