Book Brain Inspired Information Technology

Download or read book Brain Inspired Information Technology written by Akitoshi Hanazawa and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2010-09-22 with total page 176 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Brain-inspired information technology" is one of key concepts for the development of information technology in the next generation. Explosive progress of computer technology has been continuing based on a simple principle called "if-then rule". This means that the programmer of software have to direct every action of the computer programs in response to various inputs. There inherently is a limitation of complexity because we human have a limited capacity for managing complex systems. Actually, many bugs, mistakes of programming, exist in computer software, and it is quite difficult to extinguish them. The parts of computer programs where computer viruses attack are also a kind of programming mistakes, called security hole. Of course, human body or nervous system is not perfect. No creator or director, however, exists for us. The function of our brain is equipped by learning, self-organization, natural selection, and etc, resulting in adaptive and flexible information system. Brain-inspired information technology is aiming to realize such nature-made information processing system by using present computer system or specific hardware. To do so, researchers in various research fields are getting together to inspire each other and challenge cooperatively for the same goal.

Book Evolving Beyond Thought Updating Your Brain s Software

Download or read book Evolving Beyond Thought Updating Your Brain s Software written by Gary Weber and published by . This book was released on 2018-02-24 with total page 220 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The seemingly insoluble problems of our species at the current time is our inability to successfully cope with the complexities of our massively-complex, highly-integrated society using our outdated software programs created when we were hunter-gatherers. This book outlines the problem areas with our current software, how to address them, demonstrates tools to facilitate this change and then gives a demonstration of how the process unfolds in a dialogue with a successful practitioner of the process and its improved software. The first section of the book focuses on a systematic approach to working directly on the problems with the current operating system (OS) and its programs. The process begins by removing our current, outdated OS "I" (focused on the "I") and evaluating the success of the removal. An updated OS "mini-me" (less focused on the "I") is then installed from several trusted and reliable sources. Next, the most problematic programs are removed or significantly modified. The second section provides a powerful tool to support this process, seemingly exactly tailored to it, the Ribhu Gita. Sections devoted to "Am 'I' these thoughts?", "What is this mind?", "Am 'I' this body?", "What problems arise from this belief (that 'I' am this body)?", "What am 'I'?" and then "What are the benefits of this knowledge of the Self?". This text was a/the favorite of my main teacher, Ramana Maharshi, and aligns perfectly with his "direct path" of self-inquiry for nondual awakening. It is powerful to read and to chant. The third section demonstrates that this self-inquiry and letting-go-of-attachments process works in the "real" world with a "real" job. Through dialogue with someone going through the process over a significant length of time it shows how the process actually unfolds. The fourth section focuses on the most problematic, strongly-held, and tenacious of the programs in the current OS "I", the issues of "free will", control and predetermination. This is the stronghold of the egoic/I structure. Selected comments, questions and answers from blogposts on the issue address resistances, objections, and problems that arise.

Book Hardware and software of the brain

Download or read book Hardware and software of the brain written by Igor Volkov and published by Litres. This book was released on 2019-03-04 with total page 158 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Knowledge of computers is useful. It helps in the main job, but do you know how your own brain operates? The human nervous system is a live control system. Seemingly nobody will object. Hence, we can expect some kind of computer as a part, although based on quite different principles. Which specifically?Physiological theory of argument. The main difference between computers and live humans is own motivation. How does it change communication? The hard problem of consciousness is a subjective feeling of the self. Obviously, it contradicts the scientific principle of objectivity. How to resolve this contradiction?Self-programming is the same that machine learning, only better because it explains what happens inside. The last version of the book adds a chapter on self-programming.
