Traditionally, coloring books have been lined with black. And so, the artist gets to include color within the black lines. But in the Impressionist art style of the 20th century as seen by artists like Claude Monet, August Renoir and others, the color black is often not used. That is for a number of reasons. One of the reasons is so to give the subject of the art a more realistic sense from an impressionist perspective. In other words, rather than perceive something as immovable, the idea that everything in the real world is constantly moving is incorporated into the concept of fleeting, soft, subtle, unfinished, and/or non-existent lines. In addition, if one considers the way the eye moves, one finds that often the eye is not stationary. In the contrary, when viewing something, the tremulous eye mostly scans. the Impressionist art style takes off from these and other concepts. And so, I thought to myself, why not create Impressionist art style coloring books with lines that are colored, tinted and or shaded, rather than created with the color black. I personally, have never seen a coloring book such as this one and so, I think this book, and other I am creating in this series, could be useful to those who wish to learn a more Impressionistic art style by way of coloring books. Experimental, new and innovative, like many of my books, it is my opinion that this new coloring book sub-genre is on the cutting edge or coloring book technology.How to use this book? Inspired by the colors in the lines, use those colors to choose from a palette of colors that are similar or complementary. HOW TO BE INSPIRED AND CHOOSE A COLOR? It's simple. Just go with your feelings. Rather than thinking the color, connect to your feelings and go with the colors that please you most.What is a complementary color? A complementary color is an opposite color in the color spectrum which is found to be exciting to the human eye. And the main key when choosing complementary colors is as follows: GREEN/RED, PURPLE/YELLOW, BLUE/ORANGE.It is my earnest hope that everyone will enjoy my books.
