Book The Dental Diet

Download or read book The Dental Diet written by Steven Lin and published by Hay House, Inc. This book was released on 2019-02-05 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A unique exploration of how dental health connects to holistic health, with a 40-day meal plan and long-lasting dietary guidelines that are easily integrable into everyday life Throughout the years, dental health has often been characterized as a reflection of our overall health, where bad oral health results from issues with other parts of our body. But what if we flipped the paradigm? What if we thought about dental health as the foundation for our physical health as a whole? Dr. Steven Lin, an experienced dentist and the world’s first dental nutritionist, has analyzed our ancestral traditions, epigenetics, gut health, and the microbiome in order to develop food-based principles for a literal top-down holistic health approach. Merging dental and nutritional science, Dr. Lin lays out the dietary program that can help ensure you won’t need dental fillings or cholesterol medications —and give you the resources to raise kids who develop naturally straight teeth. With our mouth as the gatekeeper of our gut, keeping our oral microbiome balanced will create a healthy body through a healthy mouth. Dr. Lin arms you with a 40-day meal plan, complete with the Dental Diet food pyramid, exercises for the mouth, recipes, and cooking techniques to help you easily and successfully implement his techniques into your everyday life. The tools to improve overall wellness levels and reverse disease are closer than we think—in our markets, in our pantries, and, most frequently, in our mouths.

Book The Impact of Nutrition and Diet on Oral Health

Download or read book The Impact of Nutrition and Diet on Oral Health written by F.V. Zohoori and published by Karger Medical and Scientific Publishers. This book was released on 2019-11-07 with total page 165 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Most oral diseases are preventable, yet they remain the most globally common noncommunicable disorders, affecting people throughout their lifetime. Lifestyle, including diet and food choice, is central to the occurrence of oral disease. Nutrition and diet can impact the development and status of the oral cavity as well as the progression of illness. Also, poor oral health can influence the ability to eat and, consequently, to maintain an adequate diet and nutrient balance. This book, consisting of 14 chapters, provides current information on the impact of nutrients (macro- and micro-elements and vitamins) and diet on oral health and vice versa (i.e., the impact of oral health on diet/nutrition). It also reviews possible oral health effects of probiotics as well as relationships between genotype and diet, which are important for determining oral disease risk. This book is a helpful resource for under- and postgraduate students. It will also be useful to dentists and nutritionists/dietitians as they integrate nutrition education into medical practice.

Book Healthy Teeth Through Proper Nutrition

Download or read book Healthy Teeth Through Proper Nutrition written by Fred D. Miller and published by . This book was released on 1978 with total page 196 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Abstract: Sound eating habits which emphasize the principles of good nutrition promote dental health. A program of preventive dentistry pointing out this relationship between diet and health is presented. Teeth and gums quickly demonstrate the effects of dietary excesses or deficiencies; good teeth and good bodily health are interdependent. Each meal should end with a food that stimulates the flow of saliva. Diets should contain raw fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, eggs, milk, meat or cheese, butter and natural sweets such as honey and fruit. Soft drinks and refined sugar and flour products cause tooth decay. More natural foods and fewer processed foods are recommended. Foods grown without chemical fertilizers and pesticides and free of chemical additives should be eaten. Artificial fluoridation of water is not seen as an effective way of preventing dental caries; healthy teeth from healthy diets are the best defense against tooth decay.

Book Healthy Dental Diet for Beginners

Download or read book Healthy Dental Diet for Beginners written by Lisa H Gregory Ph D and published by Independently Published. This book was released on 2020-07-17 with total page 50 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Teeth and eating go hand in hand. So, why has there been no diet for dental health especially when it's good for our whole body too? The Dental Diet is a program to improve your dental health, oral health and overall body health. It includes delicious, nourishing foods that strengthen teeth and help prevent oral disease. It's time to start eating real, whole foods that are good for your teeth. And these foods won't just improve your oral health. Foods that are good for teeth are good for your whole body. This means they'll also help to prevent sickness and make you look, feel and perform better.Dental health is more important than most people realize. And nutrition plays a big role in this. Want to know what to eat to keep your teeth and gums strong? Chew on this. Our teeth may be small. But they, and our gums, are a lot more important to our health than many of us realize. Without teeth, we can't chew. Imagine that. No more crunchy raw vegetables and fruits! No more nuts! No more peanut brittle! (Um... did I just say that?)And here's an interesting fact: People with 25 or more teeth tend to eat more nutritiously. (Apart from peanut brittle, that is.)Not sure how many teeth you have? Go ahead, do a quick count. We need healthy teeth and gums to eat nutritious foods. And we need to eat nutritious foods for healthy teeth. As children, our diet influences how our teeth develop. And once we're grown, with all teeth in place, what we eat plays a role in maintaining dental health.
