Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Making Simple Robots is based on the idea that anybody can build a robot! That includes kids, educators, parents, and anyone who didn't make it to engineering school. If you can cut, fold, and tape a piece of paper to make a tube or a box, you can build a no-tech robotic part. In fact, many of the models in this book are based upon real-life prototypes -- working models created in research labs and companies. What's more, if you can use the apps on your smartphone, you can quickly learn to tell robots what to do using free, online, beginner-level software like MIT's Scratch and Microsoft MakeCode. The projects in this book which teach you about electric circuits by making jumping origami frogs with eyes that light up when you get them ready to hop. You'll practice designing all-terrain robot wheel-legs with free, online Tinkercad software, and you'll create files ready for 3D printing. You'll also learn to sew -- and code -- a cyborg rag doll with a blinking electronic "eye." Each project includes step-by-step directions and clear illustrations and photographs. Along the way, you'll learn about the real research behind the DIY version, find shortcuts for making projects easier when needed, and get suggestions for adding to the challenge as your skill set grows.

Download or read book Robotics written by IntroBooks and published by Can Akdeniz. This book was released on 2019-01-16 with total page 32 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Robotics is the term used for the study of the science robots. Robots were developed by the humans as a measure to create a helping hand for themselves that would make the work easy and would require less time for its completion with great accuracy and precision. As a result, keeping in mind all the benefits that it provides, the emergence of robots was first seen in the mid-20th century. A robot is manufactured with expertise in fields of science, physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, structural engineering, mathematics, computing, as well as biology, chemistry, and medicine in the rarest cases. Therefore, the construction of robots is considered to be a multidisciplinary approach. Artificial intelligence is also known as the machine intelligence. The designed robots are engineered with artificial intelligence, which gives them the ability to exhibit human-like behavior. The main aim of the artificial intelligence was to recreate human intelligence. Currently through use face recognition and voice assistant, artificial intelligence is being utilized. With all the benefits that they provide and keeping in mind their capability, robots are considered to be one of the greatest inventions on Earth by man.

Download or read book Robotics Research written by Henrik I. Christensen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-08-25 with total page 646 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume presents a collection of papers presented at the 15th International Symposium of Robotic Research (ISRR). ISRR is the biennial meeting of the International Foundation of Robotic Research (IFRR) and its 15th edition took place in Flagstaff, Arizona on December 9 to December 12, 2011. As for the previous symposia, ISRR 2011 followed up on the successful concept of a mixture of invited contributions and open submissions. Therefore approximately half of the 37 contributions were invited contributions from outstanding researchers selected by the IFRR officers and the program committee, and the other half were chosen among the open submissions after peer review. This selection process resulted in a truly excellent technical program which featured some of the very best of robotic research. The program was organized around oral presentation in a single-track format and included for the first time a small number of interactive presentations. The symposium contributions contained in this volume report on a variety of new robotics research results covering a broad spectrum including perception, manipulation, grasping, vehicles and design, navigation, control and integration, estimation and SLAM.
