Book Sistemas de energ a el ctrica en alta tensi n 2 edici n revisada y aumentada

Download or read book Sistemas de energ a el ctrica en alta tensi n 2 edici n revisada y aumentada written by Francisco Javier Balbás García and published by Ed. Universidad de Cantabria. This book was released on 2024-03-12 with total page 316 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Renewable Energy Project Development Under the Clean Development Mechanism

Download or read book Renewable Energy Project Development Under the Clean Development Mechanism written by Elizabeth Lokey and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2012-05-16 with total page 343 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This definitive guide to developing renewable energy CDM projects in Latin America - the largest market on the doorstep of the United States - provides business leaders, investors, project developers and host country offices with the one-stop guide to successful CDM renewable energy project development. The book opens with an accessible guide to the CDM that explains what it is and how it works in both theory and practice with a step-by-step guide for investors, project developers, consultants and Designated National Authorities (DNAs). The book then provides valuable country-by-country market analysis of Latin America with a focus on the electrical sector, renewable energy incentives and the overall investment climate that provides an authoritative guide to the most and least favourable places to develop projects. The final section provides guidance for how to overcome the identified barriers with practical actions for successful project development.

Book Island Power Systems

Download or read book Island Power Systems written by Lukas Sigrist and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-12-01 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A major concern of island power systems is frequency stability. A power system is said to be frequency stable if its generators are able to supply their loads at a frequency within acceptable limits after a disturbance. Frequency instability occurs if load-generation imbalances are not corrected in appropriate manner and time. Since island power systems are more sensitive to frequency instability than large ones due to the smaller number of generators online and the lower inertia, they require a larger amount of primary reserve per generator. This book provides a worldwide overview of island power systems, describing their main features and issues. Split into two parts, the first part examines the technical operation, and in particular, frequency stability of island power systems and its technical solutions, including more efficient underfrequency load-shedding schemes. The chapters explore both conventional and advanced load-shedding schemes and consider the improvement of these schemes by making them more robust and efficient. Advanced devices are modelled and analyzed to enhance frequency stability and reduce the need for load shedding. In the second part, the economic operation of island power systems is explored in detail. For that purpose, regulations and economic operations (centralized vs. market scheme) are reviewed by the authors. The authors discuss models for renewable energy sources and for advanced devices and systems such as demand-side management, energy storage systems, and electric vehicles. This book will be critical reading to all researchers and professionals in power system planning and engineering, electrical/power delivery, RES and control engineering. It will also be of interest to researchers in signal processing and telecommunications and renewable energy, as well as power system utility providers.

Book Privatization in Latin America

Download or read book Privatization in Latin America written by Alberto Chong and published by World Bank Publications. This book was released on 2005-03-15 with total page 526 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Privatization is under attack. Beginning in the 1980s, thousands of failing state-owned enterprises worldwide have been turned over to the private sector. But public opinion has turned against privatization. A large political backlash has been brewing for some time, infused by accusations of corruption, abuse of market power, and neglect of the poor. What is the real record of privatization and are the criticisms justified? 'Privatization in Latin America' evaluates the empirical evidence on privatization in a region that has witnessed an extensive decline in the state's share of production over the past 20 years. The book is a compilation of recent studies that provide a comprehensive analysis of the record of and accusations against privatization, with important recommendations for the future. Seven countries are investigated: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. This book will be vital to anyone interested in the privatization debate but especially to those involved in civil service reform, corporate governance, economic policy, finance, and anticorruption efforts. 'Privatization is important but controversial. While economists typically favor it, others are skeptical. This book provides strong scientific evidence that privatization has been beneficial for many Latin American countries, although some privatizations failed and some groups in society lost out. As usual, the devil is in the details: how privatization is carried out and what reforms accompany it are crucial to its success. The book is definitely an invaluable contribution to the privatization debate.' --Oliver Hart, Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics, Harvard University
