Por tratarse de un proceso de gestión muy particular en el que todas las áreas del negocio tienen que estar muy integradas para lograr un producto de alta calidad y debido a las pérdidas económicas que se generan por concepto de reclamos se vio necesario elaborar un proyecto que contribuya a reducir dichos costos, mejorar la imagen de la empresa y por consiguiente conseguir una mayor satisfacción del cliente; todo ello empleando la metodología RUP, el estándar UML y PowerBuilder 9.0. Entre los objetivos más relevantes del proyecto se tiene el seguimiento que se hace a los clientes a través del envío de correspondencia, informar a las áreas responsables de la empresa sobre los reclamos originados en su gestión y controlar la seguridad de los datos por tratarse de información bastante sensible para la empresa. El trabajo se divide en siete capítulos, la fundamentación teórica que se centraliza en el estudio del proceso de atención al cliente; la propuesta de solución en donde se definen los objetivos y beneficios del proyecto; el modelado del negocio en donde se realiza la documentación técnica referida al proceso principal del negocio; los requerimientos, cuya finalidad es establecer un nivel detallado de los entregables por actividad específica; la administración del proyecto tomando como punto de partida el "Project Charter"; la arquitectura del software en donde se indican las metas y restricciones de la arquitectura incluyendo diversos diagramas de análisis y diseño y por último las pruebas para garantizar la calidad del producto.
