He loves her more than anything, so when Lola tells him she's going, it takes every ounce of strength he has not to keep her locked up. If he loves her enough, he has to let her go. Download or read book Jesus Came to Save Sinners written by Charles H. Spurgeon and published by Aneko Press. This book was released on 2017-04-01 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a heart-level conversation with you, the reader. Every excuse, reason, and roadblock for not coming to Christ is examined and duly dealt with. If you think you may be too bad, or if perhaps you really are bad and you sin either openly or behind closed doors, you will discover that life in Christ is for you too. You can reject the message of salvation by faith, or you can choose to live a life of sin after professing faith in Christ, but you cannot change the truth as it is, either for yourself or for others. As such, it behooves you and your family to embrace truth, claim it for your own, and be genuinely set free for now and eternity. Come, and embrace this free gift of God, and live a victorious life for Him.
Download or read book Sinners in the Presence of a Loving God written by R. Zachary Manis and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2019-06-03 with total page 433 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Why would a perfectly good and loving God consign anyone to eternal suffering in hell? In Sinners in the Presence of a Loving God, R. Zachary Manis examines in detail the various facets of the problem of hell, considers the reasons why the usual responses to the problem are unsatisfying, and suggests how an adequate solution to the problem can be constructed. Historically, there are four standard explanations of the nature and purpose of hell: traditionalism, annihilationism, the choice model, and universalism. In Manis's assessment, all are deficient in some crucial respect. The alternative view that he develops and defends, the divine presence model, stands within the tradition that understands hell to be a state of eternal conscious suffering, but, Manis contends, avoids the worst problems of its competitors. The key idea is that the suffering of hell is not the result of a divine act that aims to inflict it, but rather is the way in which a sinful creature necessarily experiences the unmitigated presence of a holy God. Heaven and hell are not two "places" to which the saved and damned are consigned, respectively, but rather are two radically different ways in which different persons will experience the same reality of God's omnipresence once the barrier of divine hiddenness is finally removed.
Download or read book Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God written by Jonathan Edwards and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2018-12-21 with total page 151 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This eBook has been formatted to the highest digital standards and adjusted for readability on all devices. "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" combines vivid imagery of Hell with observations of the world and citations of the scripture. It is Edwards' most famous written work, is a fitting representation of his preaching style, and is widely studied by Christians and historians, providing a glimpse into the theology of the Great Awakening of c. 1730–1755. The sermon emphasizes the belief that Hell is a real place. Edwards hoped that the imagery and language of his sermon would awaken audiences to the horrific reality that he believed awaited them should they continue without calling on Christ to be saved. The underlying point is that God has given humanity a chance to confess their sins. Edwards says that it is the mere will of God that keeps wicked men from the depths of Hell. This act of restraint has given humanity a chance to mend their ways and return to Christ.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Jonathan Edwards' collection of sermons, titled 'Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and Other Sermons,' offers a deeply religious and impactful exploration of the Puritan beliefs of sin, repentance, and divine wrath. The book's use of vivid imagery and intense rhetoric creates a sense of urgency and fear, as Edwards warns his audience of the consequences of disobedience to God. Set in the context of the Great Awakening in colonial America, these sermons were delivered with the intention of instilling a sense of moral awakening and devotion among the listeners. Jonathan Edwards, a renowned theologian and preacher, was a key figure in the religious revival of the Great Awakening. His profound understanding of human nature and the divine power is evident in his writings, making him a significant voice in American religious history. Edwards' sermons reflect his commitment to awakening the masses to their spiritual realities and urging them to seek repentance and salvation. I highly recommend 'Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God and Other Sermons' to readers interested in exploring the intersection of religion, literature, and history. Jonathan Edwards' powerful sermons continue to resonate with audiences today, offering a thought-provoking perspective on sin, redemption, and the complexities of faith.
