Book excerpt: Les travaux présentés dans ce manuscrit ont pour objet l'étude de méthodes de préconditionnement efficaces pour des problèmes elliptiques en géométrie non orthogonale traités par méthode de type pseudo spectrale, et leur utilisation afin de simuler de manière précise et efficace l'écoulement de fluide visqueux incompressible en cavité bidimensionnelle déformée. Une première partie est ainsi consacrée à l'étude du préconditionnement des équations elliptiques mono et bidimensionnelles pour une discrétisation basée sur une série de polynômes de Fourier ou de Chebychev. Parmi les trois méthodes de précision finie envisagées comme préconditionneur, différences finies (DF), éléments finis (EF), et volumes finis (VF), nous montrons que les VF représentent le meilleur préconditionneur d'ordre faible. Le préconditionnement VF est ensuite mis en œuvre avec succès pour le développement d'un solveur pseudo spectral des équations de Navier Stokes, en géométrie non orthogonale. Le découplage des champs de vitesse et pression est basé sur l'algorithme de « Projection Diffusion ». Une seconde partie de ce travail est consacrée à l'étude d'écoulements incompressibles en géométries non orthogonales, le solveur développé permettant l'accès à des solutions numériques à précision spectrale. Pour l'écoulement en cavité entraînée déformée bidimensionnelle, nous montrons la sensibilité de la topologie de l'écoulement et de sa stabilité, vis-à-vis de la déformation

Book excerpt: Ce travail a pour objet le développement d'un code de calcul pour la résolution numérique des équations de Navier-Stokes en écoulement incompressible dans des domaines géométriques quelconques. Les équations sont discrétisées selon la technique des volumes finis sur un maillage cartésien non orthogonal, colocalisé (sans décalage de grille de calcul des composantes de vitesse et de la pression). La non orthogonalité des volumes de contrôle est prise en compte à l'aide de schémas numériques spécifiques inspirés des travaux de M. Péric (Defered Correction). Le couplage vitesse-pression est régi par un algorithme prédicteur-correcteur basé sur la Méthode de Projection, utilisant la décomposition de Hodge, qui semble plus performant que les algorithmes classiques de type SIMPLE (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equation). Cet algorithme intègre les approximations de Rhie et Chow qui permettent de limiter les oscillations numériques inhérentes à l'utilisation d'un maillage colocalisé. Les divers éléments introduits lors de l'élaboration du code en vue d'accroître ses performances ont été systématiquement évalués et comparés sur des écoulements tests en géométrie 2D. Finalement ce code a pu être utilisé pour modéliser l'écoulement 3D d'un jet de paroi au-dessus d'une bosse. Une étude comparative montre que les résultats de la simulation sont nettement meilleurs que ceux obtenus dans les mêmes conditions par une approche de type frontière immergée utilisant un simple maillage cartésien orthogonal.
