Book An lisis y simulaci n de procesos en ingenier a qu mica

Download or read book An lisis y simulaci n de procesos en ingenier a qu mica written by Iván Gil and published by Universidad Nacional de Colombia. This book was released on 2011-01-01 with total page 658 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Introductory Transport Phenomena

Download or read book Introductory Transport Phenomena written by R. Byron Bird and published by Wiley Global Education. This book was released on 2015-02-13 with total page 786 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Introductory Transport Phenomena by R. Byron Bird, Warren E. Stewart, Edwin N. Lightfoot, and Daniel Klingenberg is a new introductory textbook based on the classic Bird, Stewart, Lightfoot text, Transport Phenomena. The authors’ goal in writing this book reflects topics covered in an undergraduate course. Some of the rigorous topics suitable for the advanced students have been retained. The text covers topics such as: the transport of momentum; the transport of energy and the transport of chemical species. The organization of the material is similar to Bird/Stewart/Lightfoot, but presentation has been thoughtfully revised specifically for undergraduate students encountering these concepts for the first time. Devoting more space to mathematical derivations and providing fuller explanations of mathematical developments—including a section of the appendix devoted to mathematical topics—allows students to comprehend transport phenomena concepts at an undergraduate level.

Book Multi Objective Optimization

Download or read book Multi Objective Optimization written by Gade Pandu Rangaiah and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2009 with total page 454 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Optimization has been playing a key role in the design, planning and operation of chemical and related processes for nearly half a century. Although process optimization for multiple objectives was studied by several researchers back in the 1970s and 1980s, it has attracted active research in the last 10 years, spurred by the new and effective techniques for multi-objective optimization. In order to capture this renewed interest, this monograph presents the recent and ongoing research in multi-optimization techniques and their applications in chemical engineering. Following a brief introduction and general review on the development of multi-objective optimization applications in chemical engineering since 2000, the book gives a description of selected multi-objective techniques and then goes on to discuss chemical engineering applications. These applications are from diverse areas within chemical engineering, and are presented in detail. All chapters will be of interest to researchers in multi-objective optimization and/or chemical engineering; they can be read individually and used in one''s learning and research. Several exercises are included at the end of many chapters, for use by both practicing engineers and students.

Download or read book Beyond the Molecular Frontier written by National Research Council and published by National Academies Press. This book was released on 2003-03-19 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Chemistry and chemical engineering have changed significantly in the last decade. They have broadened their scopeâ€"into biology, nanotechnology, materials science, computation, and advanced methods of process systems engineering and controlâ€"so much that the programs in most chemistry and chemical engineering departments now barely resemble the classical notion of chemistry. Beyond the Molecular Frontier brings together research, discovery, and invention across the entire spectrum of the chemical sciencesâ€"from fundamental, molecular-level chemistry to large-scale chemical processing technology. This reflects the way the field has evolved, the synergy at universities between research and education in chemistry and chemical engineering, and the way chemists and chemical engineers work together in industry. The astonishing developments in science and engineering during the 20th century have made it possible to dream of new goals that might previously have been considered unthinkable. This book identifies the key opportunities and challenges for the chemical sciences, from basic research to societal needs and from terrorism defense to environmental protection, and it looks at the ways in which chemists and chemical engineers can work together to contribute to an improved future.

  • Author : E. L. Cussler
  • Publisher : Cambridge University Press
  • Release : 2001-04-16
  • ISBN : 9780521791830

Download or read book Chemical Product Design written by E. L. Cussler and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2001-04-16 with total page 152 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Until recently, the chemical industry has been dominated by the manufacture of bulk commodity chemicals such as benzene, ammonia, and polypropylene. However, over the last decade a significant shift occurred. Now most chemical companies devote any new resources to the design and manufacture of specialty, high value-added chemical products such as pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and electronic coatings. Although the jobs held by chemical engineers have also changed to reflect this altered business, their training has remained static, emphasizing traditional commodities. This ground-breaking text starts to redress the balance between commodities and higher value-added products. It expands the scope of chemical engineering design to encompass both process design and product design. The authors use a four-step procedure for chemical product design - needs, ideas, selection, manufacture - drawing numerous examples from industry to illustrate the discussion. The book concludes with a brief review of the economic issues. Chemical engineering students and beginning chemical engineers will find this text an inviting introduction to chemical product design.
