Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From the beginning of biblical recorded time until now we have seen God's people suffer silently under some of the most harsh and cruel conditions. The so-called people of victory are suffering phenomenal defeats in their personal lives and most times appearing as if there was no help in sight to resolve the matters. As time goes on and we embark on eating the whole role of the book, we see with perfect clarity, as in the book of: Romans 8:28 - And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. And in that wisdom, "The Silent Sufferer" is no more considered broken but is encouraged because he/she knows that all of his/her concerns, dilemmas, defeats, depressions, anxiety and feeling of despair are known to God. The answer to them all is in his Holy Word, appearing in literal word, metaphor, simile, parable, example or lesson waiting to be applied to the believer's life for reformation.

Book excerpt: Product Description "The way Frank tells of his decades-long struggle with mental health issues is both emotional and impactful. It''s only when he learns to be honest with himself and his loved ones that he can begin to cope with the daily struggles many people face." - Anonymous One brief moment in time has the ability to alter everything you thought you knew about life. In the blink of an eye, my whole world was thrown off course. No one escapes life without obstacles to overcome. Sometimes these obstacles are outside of our control and sometimes they are battles within ourselves. This story is my personal journey of how my father''s suicide led me down a path of destruction. As a young teen, I was not able to cope with the challenges that were facing me: medical issues, alcohol, death, and an uphill battle with suicidal ideations. This story will have you laughing while reliving your teenage years and crying as you go through my personal pain. Come with me on an entertaining ride, down a dark road. About The Author As a result of his father''s suicide, emerging author Frank Negolfka, was only a young teenager when his mental health quickly began to decline. After decades of secretly surviving depression & suicidal ideation, he found the courage to live an empowered life and created Silent Sufferers: a Facebook community nearing 1.5k members, to open up discussions with others who privately cope with the shame associated with mental health disorders. His passionate contribution to the mental health movement has been featured on international podcasts and has presented his story to a respected team of licensed mental health providers and professionals; offering critical insight and personal perspective to societal stigma. "The world is a hectic place. We need to talk less and listen more. We have to find a way to make it comfortable to have those conversations about things that frighten us." - Frank Negolfka, Mental Health Advocate and Author of "The Silent Sufferer" from Cleveland, Ohio. Now founder of The Silent Suffers, a start-up lifestyle brand, Frank is on a mission to inspire conversations surrounding mental health in new and creative ways. He aims to help people, especially men and young adults, who silently suffer under the stigma of depression. Book Reviews "The book is surprisingly well written and compelling. It offers a first-hand narrative of a young man''s struggle with physical and mental health issues, and illustrates how tragic events impacted his development. The author is authentically vulnerable. He assuages his pain with self-deprecating humor that pulls readers close and makes them care. Because the book shows how a young adult views the world, it offers refreshing insight for parents. And I believe it would be especially helpful for adolescent readers who feel that no one could possibly understand what they feel." - Sue K. "This book is written in the voice of a teenage young man having to come to terms with a family tragedy while navigating his own coming to age experiences while he struggles with both physical and mental demons. The author is both blunt and honest about what it was like to grow up, sometimes bullied, sometimes the jokester, often just another guy, in his blue collared neighborhood in an inner suburb of Cleveland." - Barbra "Raw and honest look at a teenager''s coming of age while suffering from depression. I loved the tales and shenanigans that Frank and his friends got up to. It reminded me of my teen years. I wish I''d spoken to someone about my mental health problems when I was a teenager. Men need to open up and talk more." - Danny Farham National Suicide Prevention Lifeline The Lifeline provides 24/7, free and confidential support for people in distress, prevention and crisis resources for you or your loved ones, and best practices for professionals.1-800-273-8255

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kasturba Gandhi, the wife of Mahatma Gandhi silently endured the gradual deterioration of her four sons because of the lack of proper formal education which was denied to them by the peremptory regimentation of their illustrious father. Harilal, the eldest protested more vociferously while the three younger brothers followed the dictates of the patriarch more tamely. The four sons were active-passive resisters in their own rights. But they received almost no approbation from their father while there were words of charity for others similarly situated. The Saint ordained the pursuit of a life of poverty and self-denial. Kasturba translated and implemented these disciplines in her personal life. But could it be expected that an ambitious mother would agree to a course of similar life for her sons? This book is a simple effort to probe into these questions with regard to Kasturba Gandhi: the Silent Sufferer.

Book excerpt: In Engaging the Silent Sufferer, Dr. Jerome Newton addresses the issues of shame, guilt, and disgrace that continually plague men and women who are suffering in silence. By its nature, abuse is a topic that is rarely discussed. Perpetrators remain silent because they recognize their acts could be deemed criminal, and victims remain silent because of many factors are addressed in this writing. Dr. Newton discloses the pains and wounds of those affected by such abuse while simultaneously exposing the perpetrators who inflicted the pain. Many have kept the secret of abuse to prevent punishment and embarrassment to the family's reputation, while the real crime of the abuse scenario is that of silence. The stories disclosed in this book include various types of abuse; however, sexual and/or physical abuse and the difficult conversations surrounding the incidents became the catalysts for the book. This book is designed to help give illumination and provide a vehicle of expression by: - Sharing stories of abuse that encourage those who are still suffering in silence to come out and be heard, understanding that they no longer have to hide their private struggles behind their public success. - Providing the necessary tools for those who are suffering in silence to regain freedom, rehabilitate their lives, and be empowered to live with strength, honor and dignity. - Providing assistance through the resources available via clinical or pastoral counseling, as well as other professional venues.

Download or read book The Jesus You Never Knew written by Dr. Henry DePetro and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2012-09 with total page 497 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the hearts of all mankind, of whatever race or station in life, there -. are inexpressible longings for something they do not now possess. This longing is implanted in the very constitution of man by a merciful God, that man may not be satisfied with his present conditions or attainments, whether bad, or good, or better. God desires that the human shallseek the best, and find it to the eternal blessing of his soul. Satan, by wily scheme and craft, has perverted these longings of the human heart. He makes men believe that this desire may be satisfied by pleasure, by wealth, by-ease, by fame, by power; but those who have been thus deceived by him (and they number myriads) find all these things pall upon the sense, leaving the soul as barren and unsatisfied as before. It is God's design that this longing of the human heart should lead to the One, who alone is able to satisfy it. The desire is of Him that it may lead to Him, the fullness and fulfillment of that desire. That fullness is found in Jesus the Christ, the Son of the Eternal God. "Forit was the good pleasure of the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell;" "for in Him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily." And it is also true that "in Him ye are made full" with respect to every desire divinely implanted and normally followed. Haggai calls Him "the Desire of all nations," and we may well call Him "the Desire of all ages," even as He is "the King of ages." It is the purpose of this book to set forth Jesus Christ as the One in whom every longing may be satisfied. There is many a "Life of Christ" written, excellent, books, large funds of information, elaborate 'essays on chronology and contemporaneous history, customs, and events, with much of the teaching and many glimpses of the many-sided life of Jesus of Nazareth. Yet it may be truly.said, "The half has never been told." It is not, however, the purpose of this work to set forth a harmony of the Gospels, or even to give in stricdy chronological order the important events and wonderful Iessons of the life of Christ; its purpose is to present the love of God as revealed in His Son, the divine beauty of life of Christ, of which a1l may partake, and not to satisfy the desires of the .merely curious nor the questionings of critics. But even as . the attraetl.on of His own goodness of character Jesus drew His disciples unto himself, and his personal presence by His sympathetic touch and feeling in all their infirmities and needs, and by his constantassocaition, transformed their characters from the erathly to the heavenly, from the selfish to the sacrificing, from the small hearted ignorance and prejudice to largehearted knowledge and profound love for soulsof all nations and races, even so it is the purpose of this book so to presentthe blessed Redeemer as to helpthe readerto come to Him face to face, herat to heart, and find in Him even as did the diciples of old, Jesus the Mighty One, who saves "ot the uttermost," and transforms to HIs own divine image all of those who come unto God by Him. Yet how impossibleit is to revealHis life! It is like attemptingto putupos canvas the livingrainbow; into charaters of black and white the sweetest music.
