Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What do unrelated diseases such as heart disease, cancer, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, obesity, asthma, depression, premature aging and an army of diseases ending in the suffix “itis” such as gastritis, sinusitis, arthritis, have in common: The buzz word called inflammation. “Inflammation may well turn out to be the exclusive Holy Grail of medicine – the single phenomenon that holds the key to sickness and health,” firmly says William Joel Meggs, author of “The Inflammation Cure.” Silent inflammation falls just below the radar of pain and visible swelling. It is akin to life under the volcano. Even though you are feeling well and on top of the world right now, odds are that silent inflammation can be simmering in your body. Like a slow poison, silent inflammation can gradually destroy your body organs and tissues without you feeling it until a chronic disease surfaces in the form of diabetes, heart disease or even cancer that may prove fatal. I challenge you today to make a decision to decrease silent inflammation in your body if you want to move towards wellness as every pain, every chronic disease in your body and every pound of weight gained revolves around silent inflammation. Control it and you will feel better, look better, think better and perform better. That is what this book is about.

Download or read book Chronic Inflammation written by Masayuki Miyasaka and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-11-01 with total page 679 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides readers with the most up-to-date information on cutting-edge research concerning chronic inflammation. We now know that when inflammation becomes chronic, it acts as a strong disease-promoting factor in a variety of disorders including arteriosclerosis, obesity, cancer, and Alzheimer disease. Chronic inflammation is hence called as the “silent killer”; it upsets the body’s homeostatic mechanism insidiously. In spite of these developments, we know very little about the mechanism underlying chronic inflammation. Particularly, we do not know precisely what induces chronic inflammation or what promotes its prolongation in a spatiotemporal framework. Neither do we have clear knowledge about how chronic inflammation destroys various tissues or how it predisposes individuals to many different diseases. To make the situation worse, we have no effective treatment against chronic inflammation. Since 2010, two major research programs (CREST and PRESTO) aimed at clarifying the mechanisms underlying chronic inflammation were launched in Japan, and investigators of different research areas with a brilliant track record were selected by their research proposals. Subsequently they have made their best efforts to answer the conundrum concerning chronic inflammation. This book is a compendium of such research efforts. In each chapter, the CREST- or PRESTO-funded researchers summarize their original work concerning mechanisms of induction, progression, or resolution underlying chronic inflammation. The most emphasized characteristic is the molecular aspect of chronic inflammation. The book thus presents the most recent progress made in the molecular understanding of chronic inflammation.

Download or read book Toxic Fat written by Barry Sears and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2008-09-30 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Toxic Fat: When Good Fat Turns Bad, provides a revolutionary new understanding of our current obesity epidemic by showing that it can be viewed as a form of cancer to be treated using the clinically proven pathway to change the expression of your genes using food as a drug to rid your body of toxic fat. For many of us, one of the first signs of toxic fat is the accumulation of excess body fat. In fact, obesity can be viewed as a form of "cancer" that is driven by toxic fat. However, only when this toxic fat begins to spread into the bloodstream does it begin to attack your other organs leading to early development of chronic disease. This is why some people can be overweight and be quite healthy, while others can be of normal weight and be quite sick. What ultimately determines your state of wellness is not your weight but the levels of toxic fat in your blood. This book changes forever how we look at the fat on our body and its impact on the future of health care in America.
Download or read book Guideline Sugars Intake for Adults and Children written by World Health Organization and published by World Health Organization. This book was released on 2015-03-31 with total page 59 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This guideline provides updated global, evidence-informed recommendations on the intake of free sugars to reduce the risk of NCDs in adults and children, with a particular focus on the prevention and control of unhealthy weight gain and dental caries. The recommendations in this guideline can be used by policy-makers and programme managers to assess current intake levels of free sugars in their countries relative to a benchmark. They can also be used to develop measures to decrease intake of free sugars, where necessary, through a range of public health interventions. Examples of such interventions and measures that are already being implemented by countries include food and nutrition labelling, consumer education, regulation of marketing of food and non-alcoholic beverages that are high in free sugars, and fiscal policies targeting foods and beverages that are high in free sugars. This guideline should be used in conjunction with other nutrient guidelines and dietary goals, in particular those related to fats and fatty acids (including saturated fatty acids and trans-fatty acids), to guide development of effective public health nutrition policies and programmes to promote a healthy diet.

Download or read book Fatigue To Fit written by Lisa Silvani and published by Lisa SIlvani. This book was released on 2022-09-30 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The problem with health in general in our society today is the lack of energy. It might seem obvious when we look at what our day looks like, the constant hustles, targets, and goals. But not many realize how far it would go influencing our health. What's worse is that not many know where to look when this happens. Our energy is made in the mitochondria, microscopic structures that are present in the core cells in the body. When we eat food and fuel our body with nutrients, these nutrients will then be used by mitochondria to produce ATP, the actual energy that forms in the body. ATP has several functions, but its main role is to power up the cells. When the cells have enough power, the organs work wonderfully together, and metabolism can be at its optimum level. But then, this condition is also vice versa. Lack of energy can halt many cells' and organs' functions. This causes a metabolism goes imbalance and leads to health problems, especially chronic illnesses. Inspired by studies and research around the world about energy and mitochondria, the Fatigue To Fit book offers an approach that maps the pathway to restore the body's energy and balance the energy production system. To do this, our body must meet the required conditions for mitochondria to function fully. In the book, you will learn what factors contribute to energy and what drains them, and how to restore the process. By following the restoration of our energy production system, we are also rejuvenating our entire body. Following the guide inside, expect to achieve several things: • More energy to do daily activities • Easy weight loss and weight maintenance • Increase muscle performance • Better focus and attention span • Better working and long-term memory • Better mood and mental health • Better hormonal balance • Reduced immune-related problems such as allergies and infections • Healthier skin and hair • Reduced signs and symptoms of previous chronic pain

Download or read book Jubbs Cell Rejuvenation written by David Jubb and published by North Atlantic Books. This book was released on 2012-04-17 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: According to David Jubb, who has done the breakthrough work in this realm, life extension and health optimization require protein and antioxidant synthesis. Colloids of life and lifecolloids (spores), he says, are the real primordial building blocks of life, not the body cells. These colloids comprise the body's flora, whose vitality is crucial in creating sustained good health and long life. Jubbs Cell Rejuvenation focuses on how to optimize this bio-terrain, giving readers solid information about the science and techniques for reclaiming that inner terrain in relationship to protein and antioxidant synthesis. In a world of health practitioners who talk only in terms of disease, Dr. Jubb's focus is on the forces that allow health to flourish. This work represents a nontoxic, natural approach that gently creates a symbiotic relationship among body functions that contributes to overall health. Chronic fatigue, digestive insufficiency, cancer, diabetes, and autoimmune challenge are all demystified in this important work.
