Book Short term Natural Gas Deliverability from the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin 2002 2004

Download or read book Short term Natural Gas Deliverability from the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin 2002 2004 written by Canada. National Energy Board and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 15 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report examines the factors which affect gas supply in the short term in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, and presents an outlook for gas deliverability in 2004. The main objective is to advance understanding of the short-term gas supply situation by examining recent trends in the production characteristics of the Basin and applying these trends to a short-term forecast. A historical review of natural gas production & drilling activity for the Basin is also provided. The outlook is restricted to conventional supplies, with analytical results in terms of initial productivity and production decline rates of a typical connection. The outlook does not assess the potential for development of coalbed methane or tight gas, and does not include withdrawals from storage reservoirs.

Book Natural Gas Market Assessment

Download or read book Natural Gas Market Assessment written by Canada. National Energy Board and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 54 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excess productive capacity has gradually decreased in the natural gas market. This report provides information and the Board's observations on these changed conditions and then looks ahead to examine the prospects for gas supply over the period 1993 to 1996. The analysis and outlook are directed to both peak day and annual gas supply. A historical review of gas supply over 10 years is provided, including observations on the excess of deliverability over production, changes in remaining reserves, the trend in reserves-to-production ratios, trends in production, connection rates, gas storage, the response of Alberta supply in peak demand periods and recent developments. The Baord's methodology for estimating productive capacity is described and the results of the Board's analysis of Western Canada's productive capacity are presented and compared with other deliverability studies. A summary of the current and anticipated pipeline capacity in the producing provinces is presented and estimates for productive capacity are compared with pipeline capacity. Observations on factors influencing the interpretation of results conclude the document.

This book was released on 2004-01-11 with total page 109 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The workshop examined the following three questions: (1) What projections have been made by government agencies for the U.S. supply of and demand for natural gas over the next 10 to 20 years? (2) Where are the current natural gas reserves and resources? (3) By what means and by how much can future reserves, resources, and production be increased?

Book Energy Security

Book Security of Gas Supply in Open Markets

Download or read book Security of Gas Supply in Open Markets written by International Energy Agency and published by OECD. This book was released on 2004 with total page 508 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Over the last decade, many IEA member countries have opened their energy markets to competition, with governments progressively withdrawing from direct management of the gas sector and focusing on establishing objectives and competition frameworks. With the continued growth of gas demand and the decline of domestic reserves, most IEA countries will need to import more gas, mainly for power generation, which will require access to gas reserves at competitive conditions, as well as timely investment in new infrastructure to ensure a reliable gas supply. This publication, part of a series on energy market reforms, examines recent developments in security of gas supply and reliability in all IEA regions, in the light of these new demand and supply trends. It includes a CD-ROM containing the views of the main stakeholders (governments, regulators, industry, customers and other organisations) involved.
