Book excerpt: This book offers state-of-the-art descriptions of intelligent service innovations in industry, supported by novel scientific approaches. It gathers findings presented at the 3rd Intelligent Services Summit, which took place in Zurich in September 2020, and chiefly focused on the design and application of Digital Twin as an enabler for business development in the field of smart services. Divided into three parts, the book addresses the challenges involved in the successful development and implementation of smart services for industry and science, ranging from data management to product design and lifecycle management. The four main aspects covered are industrial challenges, value system design (how to integrate resources into service ecosystems to create value), value creation through value proposition (how to create value for ecosystem actors), and value capture (how to create value for ecosystem businesses). Given its scope, the book offers an essential guide for practitioners and advanced students alike.

Book Cyber Environment and International Politics

Download or read book Cyber Environment and International Politics written by Hasret Çomak and published by Transnational Press London. This book was released on 2022-11-27 with total page 449 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Actors in the cyber sphere include countries’ armed forces, intelligence organizations, legal authorities, and natural and legal persons. Cyber War is defined as the intrusion by one state to destroy or disrupt the computer systems or networks of another state. It is defined as “the sort of warfare in which computer systems are employed to damage or destroy adversary systems” in the United Nations Glossary, in the same way as information warfare. Cyber warfare moves at a breakneck speed. It’s a global phenomenon that occurs before the traditional battleground. In order to counter cyber crimes and related issues, more studies needed to improve our understanding, inform policies and develop and strengthen cooperation between individuals, institutions and countries. All states need to take constitutional, legal, technical and administrative measures on cybersecurity. For this purpose, “national virtual environment security policies” should be developed and constantly updated. National information security should be given utmost importance. A cyber security awareness culture should be established and supported by regional and global international institutions and organizations. A common understanding on cyber security needs to be adopted at all levels. CONTENTS PREFACE PART 1. Book excerpt: The second book in a heart-stopping trilogy that follows the captain of an all-female ship hellbent on taking down a vicious warlord's powerful fleet, which Kirkus Reviews called "an immersive, adventurous pleasure that improves on the first book." Caledonia may have lost her crew, but she's not done fighting yet. After nearly dying at the hand of a powerful foe, Caledonia is pulled from the sea and nursed back to health by a crew of former Bullets who call themselves Blades. The Blades escaped Aric Athair's clutches and now live a nomadic existence, ready to disappear at a moment's notice should trouble come their way. But Caledonia wants to do more than just hide. She wants to find the Mors Navis and her beloved sisters. She wants to continue fighting Aric's fleet and to take back the Bullet Seas. She'll need to do everything in her power to convince the Blades that fighting is their only option, that there has to be a life better than the one under Aric Athair's reign, and that finding the women of the Mors Navis is the first step to revolution.
