Book Charlie McGee and the Leprechaun

Download or read book Charlie McGee and the Leprechaun written by R. C. Jette and published by Wipf and Stock Publishers. This book was released on 2019-02-20 with total page 107 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of a young lad who loses his pa at the age of eleven and takes on the responsibility of the family farm. Charlie always tries to remember his father’s counsel and follow it by doing right for others. However, his sixteenth birthday finds him overwhelmed with the arrival of a card containing a strange poetic message. This ordeal has Charlie in a state of confusion. Along with his pa’s example, the help of Father Flanagan’s Bible preaching, and some friends, Charlie discovers some valuable truths. From the leprechaun’s curse, Charlie sees how vanity can be hidden deep inside. With that insight, he learns what true friendship is all about. As he starts to believe the priest about the Bible, he realizes that although you might know someone all your life, you may not really know them at all. His greatest revelation is that the verses in the Bible are applicable to everyday life. Through reading it, he learns that what seems evil, God can turn into good. Charlie McGee and the Leprechaun is an allegory in that it reveals the spiritual journey of a young lad to discover through his dilemma the truths of the Bible.

Book Beneath Archers Tree

Download or read book Beneath Archers Tree written by H K Nicholson and published by Author House. This book was released on 2010-09-27 with total page 450 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book takes an unusual slant on life, both from a socioeconomic and cultural standpoint. The underlying sense of humor leans towards Native American and the working class, you know the people that really built America and every other country on this planet. This being said, the reader will find a connection to the author and this book. The book takes the reader on a journey of discovery that opens that primal dormant eye of the hunter in all of us. The author was raised in a couture that is rich in oral history. Stories told around tables and campfires a couture that believes in signs and visions both are depicted in this offering. The author said that the family stories were wrote just like they happen only some of the names were changed. There are strong intelligent female characters through-out this book. The only character created was one to help explain a dream or vision depending on ones belief system. A vision that the author had while in the mountains. This book asks the reader to question everything around us, some questions are even quantum based. There is a freckle here and a wort there but overall this book is well worth the read. You will laugh and cry and your spirit will fly. Beneath Archers Tree has been read by some of the smartest people in this country, some worked for NASA, some were professors, one, is one of the author's hero's. This hero is Russell Means the Indian activist and actor and author of, “Where White Men Fear To Tread.” A book every American should take a moment and read. Mr. Means read a chapter from Beneath Archers Tree, the chapter was Stain Glass Sky, he sent a note saying how much he liked it.

Book Just For Fun

Download or read book Just For Fun written by Lorin Hildreth Atkins and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2014-06-17 with total page 286 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is a book of a collection of short stories written by my now deceased father. He called them humorous. I call them a great example of the inner workings of a sociopath and sexual deviant. Though he went out of his way not to use a swear word, he did write a lot about sexual things. My father was abusive and considered himself the center of the universe. Everybody else was stupid and did not deserve to share the same air as him. The idea that he wa special was something he was taught by his mother. Because of that, he believed that he was above the law and absolutely above the rules; those were for lesser mortals. There are some funny stories in here. For that reason, I recommend that everybody should read it. You get the best of both worlds. One, you get to be entertained. Second, you get schooled on how these degenerates think. That is a huge advantage in a world gone amuck. Oh, and did I say that it was also entertaining? Sometimes, even funny.

Download or read book Walking the Poems of Ireland written by Marilyn J. Middleton and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 1999-12-03 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is a detailed daily narrative of the author's exploration of over 45 sites of antiquities in Ireland as well as beautiful gardens and estates and Ireland's major cities. These often remote sites still pepper the country today with astounding and beautiful ancient abbeys, castles, High Crosses, Round Towers, and medieval towns. This book is a search for these sites and what they can tell about the magic of Ireland. I spent many days traveling the small country roads to often inaccessible sites of antiquities in isolated fields, behind farmers barnyards, and near the coasts. I also explored the Celtic sites of kings and queens and their lost legacies forgotten in the mists of legendary castles and abbeys. I saw remnants in the current day Travelers, a group of people who chose to live on the fringes of society and seek to live independently. They also chose to live in scattered caravans in some of the most astoundingly beautiful places I have ever seen. I was enthralled by the undiscovered adventures of rambling on small country roads with sheep and cattle sharing the road with my small Opel Vectra car, and driving on the left and sitting in the right side of the car. The little shops and country people I discovered along the way were charming. The Irish countryside, unindustrialized and uncommercialized, is a mystique of changing colors of green fields mingled with little cottages and huge country manors. Sometimes lost among this beauty, I stopped to gaze upon time-honored Celtic High Crosses, or swans upon a lake, or ducks on a river, or border collies waiting at the threshold of a hundred farm cottages, or to ponder how such a beautiful place could remained unspoiled in the mist. I journeyed into the City of Dublin with its River Liffey and the stone bridges that looked like medieval sites in the mist. Dublin has a haunting blend of majestic stone buildings, a remote age castle, green flowered parks, and old antique shops that created a city lost in time. Its hustle and bustle, world-famous theater, and unique shopping opportunities, made walking its streets worthy of many days ramblings. This journal also covers a weekend exploring the majestic great castle ruins of Northern Wales and visiting three castles that are World Heritage Sites. My travels were so overwhelming, I will let each day speak for itself to the readers of this book.
