Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On the one hand, hard work is vitalizing and keeps the body active and ready to work; on the other hand, it promotes a healthy life. During the time of the Prophet (Pbuh), people would go from city to city in groups (called carvans) to trade. This involved travel to far-off places where people sold their commodities and brought back the products available there. There are advantages of trading which are particularly significant. Such exchange of goods results in an exchange of cultural values as well and increases knowledge of the world. Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh) himself led many expeditions and earned money as well as reputation and respect. Islam prohibits business based on gambling. Likewise, selling products which are prohibited by Islam for consumption, must not be traded. Accordingly, sale of pork and the meat of dead animals are prohibited. Islam places strong emphasis on cleanliness and fairness in life, be it in transactions, commitments, agreements or in food, drinks, clothings, etc. Islam condemns unfair, flawed or tainted practices in businesses and enterprises. This particular work carefully examines and emphasizes each and every aspect of business and trade as per Islamic injunctions

Book An Overview of Islamic Finance

Download or read book An Overview of Islamic Finance written by Mr.Mumtaz Hussain and published by International Monetary Fund. This book was released on 2015-06-02 with total page 35 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Islamic finance has started to grow in international finance across the globe, with some concentration in few countries. Nearly 20 percent annual growth of Islamic finance in recent years seems to point to its resilience and broad appeal, partly owing to principles that govern Islamic financial activities, including equity, participation, and ownership. In theory, Islamic finance is resilient to shocks because of its emphasis on risk sharing, limits on excessive risk taking, and strong link to real activities. Empirical evidence on the stability of Islamic banks, however, is so far mixed. While these banks face similar risks as conventional banks do, they are also exposed to idiosyncratic risks, necessitating a tailoring of current risk management practices. The macroeconomic policy implications of the rapid expansion of Islamic finance are far reaching and need careful considerations.

This book was released on 2013-06-01 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Economic System of Islam, is an English version of a lecture delivered in Urdu by Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-Din Mahmud Ahmad, the Second Khalifah Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to a gathering of academia in Lahore, Pakistan, in 1945. The book presents a detailed account of the teachings of Islam regarding the system of economics. It demonstrates that economic system of Islam is placed within the broader teachings of Islam, with the objective of attaining the pleasure of Allah and everlasting bliss in the Hereafter. It provides for a healthy and progressive society in which the basic needs of all are met, and incentives for achieving excellence are provided, with due regard to justice and fair play. The lecture then makes a critical evaluation of the economic aspects of Communism. It provides ample evidence that Communism has failed in its pretensions of promoting justice and equality both within its own borders and in international affairs. It brings out serious objections against Communism from a religious point of view, and cites three prophecies about the decline of Communism.

The essays have been carefully selected to reflect, as much as possible, the different Islamic perspectives on each of these aspects of international law.

Book excerpt: Islamic Commercial Law: An Analysis of Futures and Options focuses on options and futures as trading tools and explores their validity from an Islamic point of view. Futures and options are a completely new phenomenon which has no parallel in Islamic commercial law. After reviewing the existing rules of Islamic law of contract and verifying their relevance or otherwise to futures trading, the author, Professor M H Kamali, advances a new perspective on the issue of futures and options based on an interpretation of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and referring to the principle of maslaha (consideration of public interest) as enshrined in the Shari'ah. Islamic Commercial Law consists of three parts. Part One is devoted to the description of futures trading and the understanding of operational procedures of futures and futures markets; Part Two investigates the issue of permissibility of futures trading in Islamic law and the underlying questions of risk-taking and speculation, which are of central concern to the topic. Part Three is devoted to an analysis of options. This work will be of use to anyone working on Islamic law, comparative law or working in Islamic banking.
