Then again, when he starts performing in drag at a local Cabaret named The Red where his cousin works as a tailor. He finds himself free and able to be himself in a world that has always treated him as an outcast. He’s among people that understand him, and he can finally relax. At least, that’s what he believes. Then, a dress arrives, seemingly an apology for a bit of bigotry from a shop clerk. No one thinks a dress can cause any harm, so he wears it under the stage lights. Things go awry, though, and Kerry wonders what could possibly be happening. A bounty hunter named Martin swoops in, convinced that he can be of aid in the situation. Along with Martin, there’s an intrepid FBI agent named Zak on the trail of a pair of sadistic serial killers who target and manipulate young, attractive feminine men like Kerry. Kerry doesn’t believe it at first. Can he be targeted by these people? Then, things start happening, and his phone and email is full of messages with horrible images of what these people plan to do to him. He’s frightened but staunch in living his life. He is adamant that he won’t let them win, no matter what they do to him. Still, as the manipulation and gaslighting continues from afar, he starts to doubt everything he’s ever known. He starts to lose purchase on reality but finds that Martin and Zak ground him. He refuses to give in to their sadistic games, but in the end, he begins to wonder if his willpower is enough to keep these people away from him.

Book The Anti Racist Social Worker

Download or read book The Anti Racist Social Worker written by Tanya Moore and published by Critical Publishing. This book was released on 2021-09-27 with total page 174 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the story of an anti-racist campaign staged by social workers and allied health professionals which encourages readers to consider their own possibilities for anti-racist action. The murder of George Floyd in May 2020 and subsequent expression of anger, frustration and grief at the continued existence of racism led to more sophisticated and honest conversations about racism and its impact. Social work also started to recognise its own problem with racist systems and its failure as a profession that strives for social justice to have addressed this in any meaningful way. The Anti-Racist Social Worker describe a successful campaign of anti-racist direct action that was staged by a small group of social workers and occupational therapists. The opening chapter tells the story of the campaign from the coming together of the campaign group to the concluding day of action. Subsequent chapters are written by campaign members at different stages of their career, from student social worker to Chief Social Worker for England. Each describes journeys to and stories of anti-racist activism. These stories are about either the writers’ experiences of racism and how this translated into action or their growing understanding of the impact of racism and subsequent decision to take personal action. Importantly, each chapter offers a personal case study and therefore a suggestion of individual anti-racist action that can be taken by social workers. The Anti-Racist Social Worker is a call for action told through individual stories. It shows how those in social care and allied health professions can contribute in a meaningful way to the creation of the change we need and encourages everyone to consider their own roles in dismantling racism.

Book Freedom of F G Speech Baby

Download or read book Freedom of F G Speech Baby written by Sherlyn Gajewski and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2013-05-20 with total page 801 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Freedom of F-----g Speech Baby is the perfect title for this book, for it is what we all want to be. Its a no holds barred book with words unhidden and unhindered. I am so glad that I live in a country that allows me to have this freedom of speech and that has allowed me to write this book and I am one who is not afraid to use this opportunity to its fullest extent. This is an author who will never shy away from using strong vocabulary. Some of my thoughts and vocabulary that are used in this book may shock you and make you shake your head in disbelief. This book is not for the timid and shy readers. It is graphic and modern, because that is what we have become in 2013; very descriptive and contemporary. So enjoy what this wild natured mind has to offer the writing world. Enjoy the trip of a mind that is not afraid to speak and put her words on paper for everyone to read. This book portrays a woman of confidence that is shown in her writings and she has written some self- help and healing poems that will turn you into the self-assured person that you should be. That is why I chose the title Freedom Of F---ing Speech baby, because I believe that everyone should have that opportunity to write and speak freely because it shows a great sense of confidence. To me there is nothing better for a writer than writing whatever you feel at the time and if it is uncensored it makes its all the better; and having the chance to make a book of these feelings is one of the greatest achievements a person can offer to the world. I thank you for this opportunity.

As the saying goes, it takes two to tango! In that same contemplation, we're featuring two ladies, twins actually, working together to unite women through their positive body acceptance campaign. It's particularly striking message as it puts the pulse on pur insecurities and skewed perception of beauty.
