Book Shadows of the Messiah in the Torah

Download or read book Shadows of the Messiah in the Torah written by Dan Cathcart and published by Createspace Independent Pub. This book was released on 2012-09-08 with total page 206 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Shadows of the Messiah in the Torah Volume #4Jesus' Hebrew name is Yeshua which means "He will save" or "salvation." His coming is in fulfillment of the promises of God to send salvation to His people. God recorded these promises through Moses and the prophets in the Old Testament, the scriptures from Moses to Malachi. Yeshua says that all the scriptures are about Him.John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.John 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me. This volume contains twelve in depth studies illuminating some of the prophecies in the Old Testament which testify that Yeshua is the Messiah who is coming again. The first six lessons in this volume highlight God's grace and His identity as our redeemer as we examine Isaac as the Promised Seed, the story of Naomi and Ruth, and Yeshua as the stone the builders rejected. We visit the little known concepts of the kinsman redeemer and avenger of blood and the ritual for determining whether a wife has been faithful or adulterous. This last one may bring you to your knees as you discover an incredible analogy of Yeshua taking the consequences of our sin on Himself. We round out this half with the exploration of grace and truth first revealed in the Torah. The second set of six lessons all revolve around the land of Israel—the land of prophecy. Each location we examine, Bethlehem, Hebron, Shechem, Jerusalem and the entire land all have a role in the revelation and fulfillment of God's redemption plan and in the establishment of His kingdom. Each lesson has a student notes section and discussion questions for use individually or with a group. Join us as we tear out the blank page between the Old Testament and the New Testament and see the scriptures as one unified book given to reveal the character of God and the two comings of Yeshua!John 1:45 …We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first five books of the Old Testament were written centuries before the birth of Jesus. Yet they intricately involve him. Here Vern S. Poythress explores Genesis through Deuteronomy, demonstrating how the sacrifices and traditions of the Hebrews graphically foreshadow Christ’s relationship with his people. Dr. Poythress also explains how the penalties of the law prefigure the destruction of sin and guilt through Jesus. -- Publisher's statement

Book Summa Theologica All Complete Unabridged 3 Parts Supplement Appendix interactive links and annotations

Download or read book Summa Theologica All Complete Unabridged 3 Parts Supplement Appendix interactive links and annotations written by Thomas Aquinas and published by e-artnow. This book was released on 2013-08-20 with total page 5383 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This carefully crafted ebook: "Summa Theologica (All Complete & Unabridged 3 Parts + Supplement & Appendix + interactive links and annotations)" is formatted for your eReader with a functional and detailed table of contents. This ebook is the best-known work of Thomas Aquinas (c.1225–1274). Although unfinished, the Summa is "one of the classics of the history of philosophy and one of the most influential works of Western literature." It is intended as an instructional guide for moderate theologians, and a compendium of all of the main theological teachings of the Catholic Church. It presents the reasoning for almost all points of Christian theology in the West. The Summa Theologica is divided into three parts, and each of these three parts contains numerous subdivisions. Part 1 deals primarily with God and comprises discussions of 119 questions concerning the existence and nature of God, the Creation, angels, the work of the six days of Creation, the essence and nature of man, and divine government. Part 2 deals with man and includes discussions of 303 questions concerning the purpose of man, habits, types of law, vices and virtues, prudence and justice, fortitude and temperance, graces, and the religious versus the secular life. Part 3 deals with Christ and comprises discussions of 90 questions concerning the Incarnation, the Sacraments, and the Resurrection. Some editions of the Summa Theologica include a Supplement comprising discussions of an additional 99 questions concerning a wide variety of loosely related issues such as excommunication, indulgences, confession, marriage, purgatory, and the relations of the saints toward the damned. Scholars believe that Rainaldo da Piperno, a friend of Aquinas, probably gathered the material in this supplement from a work that Aquinas had completed before he began working on the Summa Theologica. It seeks to describe the relationship between God and man and to explain how man’s reconciliation with the Divine is made possible at all through Christ. To this end, Aquinas cites proofs for the existence of God and outlines the activities and nature of God. Approximately one-half of the Summa Theologica then examines the nature and purpose of man. Finally, Aquinas devotes his attention to the nature of Christ and the role of the Sacraments in effecting a bridge between God and man. Within these broad topical boundaries, though, Aquinas examines the nature of God and man in exquisite detail. His examination includes questions of how angels act on bodies, the union of body and soul, the cause and remedies of anger, cursing, and the comparison of one sin with another. Aquinas is attempting to offer a truly universal and rational view of all existence. Thomas Aquinas, O.P. (1225 – 1274), also Thomas of Aquin or Aquino, was an Italian Dominican priest, and an immensely influential philosopher and theologian in the tradition of scholasticism, within which he is also known as the "Doctor Angelicus", "Doctor Communis", and "Doctor Universalis". He was the foremost classical proponent of natural theology, and the father of Thomism. His influence on Western thought is considerable, and much of modern philosophy was conceived in development or refutation of his ideas, particularly in the areas of ethics, natural law, metaphysics, and political theory.

Book The Seven Feasts of Israel and the Messiah

Download or read book The Seven Feasts of Israel and the Messiah written by Ronald Jean and published by WestBowPress. This book was released on 2014-03-11 with total page 126 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Scene by scene, we are surrounded by the theatrics of the passion. The panorama begins as Israel performs her seven solemn, ritualistic feasts pointing to the downfall of the walls of her spiritual captivity. The messianic application to Israels memorial feasts is central to her preparation to enjoy her long-awaited eternal freedom. As this theme remains the central focus, it is followed by the redemption of the world as revealed through these feasts. So beautifully illustrated in the Tenach--the Jewish Bible--is how the Messiah was predicted by these feasts to be the Savior of the world. In retrospect, reliving scenes through the narrative, you will discover hidden truth underneath the surface of Israels celebrations. Discover the purposes of the different Sabbaths given to Israel and how each points to a unique aspect of either creation or redemption. Here you have it, from many years of lectures, discussions and devoted contemplation on the passion of the Christ is brought to you from a unique and inspirational perspective, Gods message to His called and chosen people. Many mysteries and controversies with regard to Christs week of passion are brought to the surface and addressed. Harmony of the four Gospels addressing days and times of each event is clearly mapped. How you can as an individual or as a body of believers apply these lessons from a Christian or Messianic perspective is clearly revealed. Understanding, internalizing, and applying Gods Word should be the object of every Bible study.
