Book excerpt: Contexte : L'organisation mondiale de la santé et l'institut national de prévention et d'éducation pour la santé recommandent un allaitement maternel exclusif lors des six premiers mois suivant la naissance de l'enfant. De nombreux allaitements sont arrêtés dès le premier mois suivant la naissance. Objectif : Comprendre le vécu du sevrage de l'allaitement maternel réalisé le premier mois suivant la naissance et les attentes des mères vis-à-vis des professionnels de santé. Méthode : Etude qualitative par entretiens semi-dirigés auprès de mères d'enfants âgés de un à trois mois, recrutées sur la base du volontariat, en Ille et Vilaine. Résultats : Dix entretiens furent menés. Le vécu du sevrage de l'allaitement est plutôt hétérogène et se partage entre soulagement, satisfaction d'avoir allaité, frustration, culpabilité et regret. Toutes ont arrêté leur allaitement prématurément. Elles sont globalement satisfaites de leur accompagnement par les professionnels de santé. Elles proposent cependant une uniformisation des pratiques et un suivi plus fréquent et plus centré sur l'allaitement après le retour à domicile. Conclusion : Le vécu du sevrage de l'allaitement maternel réalisé le premier mois suivant la naissance est hétérogène et est la conséquence de nombreuses difficultés rencontrées. Un suivi plus personnalisé et plus fréquent après leur retour à domicile pourrait assurer une meilleure compréhension du vécu des mères et ainsi améliorer le suivi de leur allaitement.

Like the narrator of The Outlaws, he was a military cadet at the end of the First World War, and joined the Freikorps, participating in many of the events described in the book, including the assassination of Foreign Minister Walther Rathenau, for which he was imprisoned. He went on to write many books and film scripts.
