Book Kinematic Systems in Geodesy Surveying and Remote Sensing

Download or read book Kinematic Systems in Geodesy Surveying and Remote Sensing written by Klaus-Peter Schwarz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 573 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Kinematic Systems in Geodesy, Surveying, and Remote Sensing provides a state-of-the-art discussion on the use of the Global Positioning System (GPS) in combination with Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) for detailed sensing of the Earth's surface. Divided into two parts, the book first discusses GPS/INS with respect to theory and modelling, equipment trends, estimation methods and quality control, algorithms, and software trends. It then describes the applications of these kinematic systems to positioning and navigation, modelling and measurement of gravity, gravity gradiometry, and altitude. This collection of 63 presentations documents the symposium of the same name held in Banff, Alberta, September 1990. It is the sixth volume of the International Association of Geodesy Symposia series published by Springer-Verlag New York.

Book The Burial Mound Sites of Imperial Central Tibet

Download or read book The Burial Mound Sites of Imperial Central Tibet written by Karel Kriz and published by . This book was released on 2020-11-11 with total page 44 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The map "The Burial mound Sites of Imperial Central Tibet, map scale 1:800.000" is the result of an inter-disciplinary cooperation project between the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Institute for Social Anthropology (ISA) and the university of Vienna, department of Geography and Regional Research (IfGR), Section Cartography and Geoinformation. The map illustrates the position of the burial moundfields in the central Tibetan region that have been registered so far by the ?Tibetan tumulus project? (TTT), an Austrian Science Fund (FWF) financed long-term research conducted at the Austrian Academy of Sciences? Institute for Social Anthropology. The entries of districts and key political sites related to the time of the Tibetan Empire (7th-9th cent. CE) form the relevant historical reference for this distribution map. This reveals a tumulus landscape of enormous concentration in the relatively small geographic area of Central Tibet (Dbus-Gtsang region), largely the ancient Bod, which in geographical, economic and political terms formed the heartland of the Tibetan Empire.0The supplement gives insight in the general topic of the burial mound sites of imperial Central Tibet as well as a short overview of the cartographic map structure and creation. It concludes with a listing that represents an adapted version of the site list given on the TTT website.

Book Frequency Standards

    Book Details:
  • Author : Fritz Riehle
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2006-03-06
  • ISBN : 3527605959
  • Pages : 540 pages

Download or read book Frequency Standards written by Fritz Riehle and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-03-06 with total page 540 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Of all measurement units, frequency is the one that may be determined with the highest degree of accuracy. It equally allows precise measurements of other physical and technical quantities, whenever they can be measured in terms of frequency. This volume covers the central methods and techniques relevant for frequency standards developed in physics, electronics, quantum electronics, and statistics. After a review of the basic principles, the book looks at the realisation of commonly used components. It then continues with the description and characterisation of important frequency standards from atomic clocks, to frequency stabilised lasers. The whole is rounded of with a discussion of topical applications in engineering, telecommunications, and metrology.

Book Ultra Wide Band Antennas

Download or read book Ultra Wide Band Antennas written by Xavier Begaud and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-04 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ultra Wide Band Technology (UWB) has reached a level of maturity that allows us to offer wireless links with either high or low data rates. These wireless links are frequently associated with a location capability for which ultimate accuracy varies with the inverse of the frequency bandwidth. Using time or frequency domain waveforms, they are currently the subject of international standards facilitating their commercial implementation. Drawing up a complete state of the art, Ultra Wide Band Antennas is aimed at students, engineers and researchers and presents a summary of internationally recognized studies.

Book Meshfree Methods for Partial Differential Equations

Download or read book Meshfree Methods for Partial Differential Equations written by Michael Griebel and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 468 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Meshfree methods for the solution of partial differential equations gained much attention in recent years, not only in the engineering but also in the mathematics community. One of the reasons for this development is the fact that meshfree discretizations and particle models are often better suited to cope with geometric changes of the domain of interest, e.g. free surfaces and large deformations, than classical discretization techniques such as finite differences, finite elements or finite volumes. Another obvious advantage of meshfree discretizations is their independence of a mesh so that the costs of mesh generation are eliminated. Also, the treatment of time-dependent PDEs from a Lagrangian point of view and the coupling of particle models and continuous models gained enormous interest in recent years from a theoretical as well as from a practial point of view. This volume consists of articles which address the different meshfree methods (SPH, PUM, GFEM, EFGM, RKPM etc.) and their application in applied mathematics, physics and engineering.

Book Partial Differential Equations 2

Download or read book Partial Differential Equations 2 written by Friedrich Sauvigny and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-10-11 with total page 401 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This encyclopedic work covers the whole area of Partial Differential Equations - of the elliptic, parabolic, and hyperbolic type - in two and several variables. Emphasis is placed on the connection of PDEs and complex variable methods. This second volume addresses Solvability of operator equations in Banach spaces; Linear operators in Hilbert spaces and spectral theory; Schauder's theory of linear elliptic differential equations; Weak solutions of differential equations; Nonlinear partial differential equations and characteristics; Nonlinear elliptic systems with differential-geometric applications. While partial differential equations are solved via integral representations in the preceding volume, this volume uses functional analytic solution methods.

Book Convex Functional Analysis

    Book Details:
  • Author : Andrew J. Kurdila
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2006-03-30
  • ISBN : 3764373571
  • Pages : 238 pages

Download or read book Convex Functional Analysis written by Andrew J. Kurdila and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2006-03-30 with total page 238 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is dedicated to the fundamentals of convex functional analysis. It presents those aspects of functional analysis that are extensively used in various applications to mechanics and control theory. The purpose of the text is essentially two-fold. On the one hand, a bare minimum of the theory required to understand the principles of functional, convex and set-valued analysis is presented. Numerous examples and diagrams provide as intuitive an explanation of the principles as possible. On the other hand, the volume is largely self-contained. Those with a background in graduate mathematics will find a concise summary of all main definitions and theorems.
