Book Notes on the Path Memoirs 1972 to 1997

Download or read book Notes on the Path Memoirs 1972 to 1997 written by Larry Flagg and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2017-11-05 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the late 1990s I wrote a few pages for my children and called it "My Children's Spiritual Heritage". It evolved into a memoir of 25 years of life's sweet and sour twists and turns. I saw Master Kirpal Singh in 1972 and recognized His competency, but I missed the chance to be initiated by Him. My wife and I were initiated in 1977 by Sant Ajaib Singh and I haltingly began to follow the spiritual path. My experiences of the following years confirmed the reality of spiritual teachings and the protection the Masters give their disciples. The book is suitable for anyone with similar adventures or interests. Along with larger themes, five short episodes are highlighted as notable. Transcriptions, book reviews, a bibliography and five appendices reflect my desire to preserve what I consider to be important material. The inclusion of family photos reflects my love for my children and my Master's love and concern for all children and all humanity. He has said "This is a path of self-improvement."

In this book, Joan Borysenko tells you how a mystical moment can strike at any time when you are fully present in the moment: when looking at a beautiful full moon, a sunset, walking in nature, or looking into the eyes of a child. When you are fully present in the moment, you will be filled with a sense of awe, and beauty, and feel fully connected with the universe. This book outlines the 7 paths, complete with spiritual exercises, giving the reader a sense of the most fruitful direction for their journey. You will learn that you don't have to go to Nepal or go climb a mountain to have a mystical moment, but in learning how to be fully present in your everyday life, you will find that mystical moments can be found in the mundane, the ordinary, or also in the extraordinary.

Book Seven Keys to Perfection

Download or read book Seven Keys to Perfection written by Bishop David O. Nzewi and published by Xulon Press. This book was released on 2015-11-25 with total page 132 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Seven Keys to Perfection are the most essential attributes we need in our lives and society today. The first key is faith (Clay) which is the soil God uses in sculpting our foundation in him. The second key is prayer (Wood). Every aspect of our yearning creates deeper resolution in communication with Christ. The third key is praise & worship (Iron) this is where we build more intimacy with Christ opening up our lives to his presence. Studying the word (Bronze) Jesus is the word, symbolically portrayed as a bronze serpent bringing healing and restoration to everyone who puts their trust in him. Fasting and discipline (Silver) silver is often the color of war and we must understand the importance of obtaining these weapons when we come against all devices of Satan. Purity of heart, soul and mind (Gold)-without holiness, no eyes shall see the Lord. Courage and preaching the gospel (Diamond) all our works will be presented before the judgement seat of Christ and will either burn, or will be engraved into precious stones worthy for the calling which we have been chosen.

Book The Different Paths of Buddhism

Download or read book The Different Paths of Buddhism written by Carl Olson and published by Rutgers University Press. This book was released on 2005-01-06 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For centuries, Buddhist teachers and laypeople have used stories, symbols, cultural metaphors, and anecdotes to teach and express their religious views. In this introductory textbook, Carl Olson draws on these narrative traditions to detail the development of Buddhism from the life of the historical Buddha to the present. By organizing the text according to the structure of Buddhist thought and teaching, Olson avoids imposing a Western perspective that traditional texts commonly bring to the subject. The book offers a comprehensive introduction to the main branches of the Buddhist tradition in both the Mahayana and Theravada schools, including the Madhyamika school, the Yogacara school, Pure Land devotionalism, Tibetan Tantric Buddhism, Zen Buddhism, and village folk Buddhist traditions. Chapters explore the life and teachings of the Buddha in historical context, the early development and institutionalization of Buddhism, its geographic spread across Asia and eventually to the United States, philosophy and ethics, the relationship between monks and laity, political and ethical implications, the role of women in the Buddhist tradition, and contemporary reinterpretations of Buddhism. Drawn from decades of classroom experience, this creative and ambitious text combines expert scholarship and engaging stories that offer a much-needed perspective to the existing literature on the topic.

Book Christianity the One the Many

Download or read book Christianity the One the Many written by John F. Nash and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2008-02-29 with total page 376 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is Christianity? Who was Jesus Christ? What relevance does Christianity have in a post-Christian age? Why are there so many Christian sects, and what are the prospects for bringing them together? Does Christianity have a future? Am I a Christian? Are you? Christianity: the One, the Many, offers encouraging answers and options for modern spiritual seekers. This second volume focuses on western Christianity from 1000 CE onward. Decline of the medieval church led to the Reformation and emergence of the Lutheran, Calvinist and Anglican Churches. Baptists and Methodists soon followed, and in due course the charismatic movement. The scientific revolution and the Enlightenment challenged Christianitys very foundations and produced innovative religious forms, like Deism and Transcendentalism. Meanwhile, esoteric Christianity has established itself as a further option. A bold new vision is offered that honors the diversity within Christianity as well as a transcendent, unifying reality, the Body of Christ. Seven spiritual paths are identified which offer all sincere Christians opportunities to express personal and collective aspirations. Archetypal in nature, and cutting across denominational boundaries, they are: Devotion, Ceremony, Knowledge, Service, Healing, Activism and Renunciation. The unifying reality is a larger archetype, the Ekklesia, visualized as a great Cathedral into which all are invited to open themselves to the Divine, love their neighbor, humbly seek truth, and work to make the world a better place. A masterpiece of research, insight and faith A must-read for believers and nonbelievers alike. Now I know theres a place in Christianity for me Front cover shows the Church of Our Savior on the Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg, Russia. Photograph courtesy of Helen C. Nash

Book 7 Steps to Attain Perfection

Download or read book 7 Steps to Attain Perfection written by John Molokwu and published by Publication Consultants. This book was released on 2018-03-01 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: 7 Steps To Attain Perfection, an embodiment of rudimentary guiding principles capturing the essence of being Born Again, was conceived out of a nurtured desire spanning 11 years of tuning and fine-tuning its contents to equip a believer with necessary steps taking them on a purposeful journey through life's unpredictable experiences. It begins the moment someone takes the decisive step to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour to fulfilling their calling in God's vineyard. 7 Steps To Attain Perfection is equipped with biblical citations, anecdotes, and metaphorical connotations meant to expose your thoughts to new possibility of attaining perfection in Christ Jesus. It relates to every believer's struggle for acceptance and respect in a world of perverseness, deceitfulness, slothfulness, and actus reus. 7 Steps To Attain Perfection remains a great privilege for me having been inspired to tap from the wealth of wisdom, knowledge and understanding endowed by the Holy Spirit flowing through the ‘Still Small Voice' as I listened in the Spirit and penned down the Words as the Spirit gave me inspiration. Anyone applying the teachings in this book will transform their life through becoming changed for the better according to John 15:1-5.
