Book The Pursuit of Perfection

Download or read book The Pursuit of Perfection written by Wayne Rosson and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2014-09-09 with total page 113 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you want to progress in your spiritual experience? Are you being as perfect a Christian as you can be? Then this book is for you. Hebrews 6:1-2: "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on into perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance again from dead works, and of faith toward God, Of the doctrine of baptisms." Understanding the doctrine of baptisms will help in finding the pathway to perfection in Christ. Many Christians do not understand that there are seven baptisms named in the New Testament. Each of the seven baptisms leads to perfection in our Christian lives. We are to constantly strive for perfection. Understanding the depth of each baptism will greatly enhance faith in God, adding confidence in the leading of the Holy Spirit. Each baptism will mark a change in life. Each baptism becomes a mile marker on the road to perfection in Christ. This book will help you understand that "all things work together for good to them that love God" (Romans 8:28). God has a plan for our spiritual growth. Great joy awaits those who follow the pursuit of perfection.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Is believer’s baptism the clear teaching of the New Testament Scriptures? What are the historical and theological challenges to believer’s baptism? What are the practical applications for believer’s baptism today? Volume two in the NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY STUDIES IN BIBLE & THEOLOGY (NACSBT) series for pastors, advanced Bible students, and other deeply committed laypersons addresses these compelling questions. Indeed, Believer’s Baptism begins with the belief that believer’s baptism (as opposed to infant baptism or other faith proclaiming methods) is the clear teaching of the New Testament. Along the way, the argument is supported by written contributions from Andreas Kostenberger, Robert Stein, Thomas Schreiner, Stephen Wellum, Steve McKinion, Jonathan Rainbow, Shawn Wright, and Mark Dever. Users will find this an excellent extension of the long-respected NEW AMERICAN COMMENTARY.

Book excerpt: Joe Hanley, along with other dedicated servants of God, has been active in the churches of Christ for the last 67 years in establishing congregations in Texas, California, and Colorado. During these times, many bible tracts were written, conferences were chaired, weekly radio programs were produced in California and in Texas, meetings were held, singing schools were taught, and he physically helped construct buildings for the Lord's work. Joe is now eighty-one years of age and seems to be in very good health. He said some of his brethren might question the soundness of his mind, but Joe says that may be a necessary fall-out because of his critical writing and bold examination subjects held to be sacrosanct and untouchable. He said he crawled out of the box dozens of years ago and has found peace and contentment as a result. For years he has been battling for cooperation among those that think differently to each other. If you can accept being kindly challenged to think for yourself and not parrot what others want you to blindly accept, Joe's writing is just the ticket. Subjects, such as baptism, are examined in such a manner that you may never see otherwise. Some of Joe's brethren have castigated him somewhat, even suggesting he was anti-Christ. Joe said that the folks that may take such a position are just where he was forty years ago and that these brethren have his love and tolerance. Joe's books are listed in the last pages of this short treatise on baptisms. These books are also written for study and are not preachy or insulting. They are written in plain words that are easy to understand.

Book A Theological Study of The Book of Romans

Download or read book A Theological Study of The Book of Romans written by Arch Bishop D.A. Miller, D.D. Ph.D. and published by Lulu.com. This book was released on 2012-02-11 with total page 395 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Paul addressed the Book of Romans to both Jews and Gentiles, even though Rome was primarily a Gentile city. Therefore, it is reasonable to conclude that most believers in the churches at Rome were Gentiles. The reason that this was important is that the Judaizers continued to infiltrate the local churches and Paul was determined to stop their false message of adding law-keeping to grace from taking root, and to demonstrate that the Gospel is for all, Jews and Gentiles.
