Book Servant Stoneguard Queens of Fresia

Download or read book Servant Stoneguard Queens of Fresia written by LB Mac and published by Fulton Books, Inc.. This book was released on 2024-08-16 with total page 356 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ten magical dragon stones of legend lie waiting to be found, eager to reveal their power to their next host as an ancient foe also calls to Annest, Queen of Fresia, from the depths of her home, Castle Belliword. This foe too searches for the stones. The Land of Fresia, the greatest stronghold of the west, is protected by the fearsome troopers, female Fresian knights feared by all. Five women of Belliword are called upon by forces greater than they could imagine to answer to the lure of these stones: the young Queen Annest, hungry for power and harboring a secret (or two); the Princess Seren, sister and diplomat for Fresia who has an undiscovered tale of their own; Lady Bevan, the strongheaded queen's consort and general to the troopers; the beautiful Lady Edyta, who rose from nothing through sheer skill and determination to become a trooper captain; and a lowly peasant girl, Arahme, whose past and future are unknown--even to her. The young Arahme arrives bloodied and beaten on the steps of Castle Belliword after having allegedly been assaulted by her husband. She is counseled on the dangers of the world of men outside the borders of Fresia and told she must now become a Queen's Trooper to protect herself. She is taken into the protection of the Troopers and trained to be a soldier of Fresia; however, Arahme knows in her heart that her husband would never try to hurt her. She then endeavors to prove this fact while held within the den of the dragon. The lives of Arahme, Annest, Edyta, Bevan, and Seren will soon be intertwined in a series of events that will take them through an epic journey of ancient legend, lust, love, heartache, war, and blood. Can they save their lands from a dark fate? Will they be able to fight back against a tyrannical king and queen? Can they endure against a dark evil that awakens and beckons others to their side with the lure of lust and power?

Book excerpt: New York Times bestselling author Melanie Dickerson beautifully re-imagines “The Goose Girl” by the Brothers Grimm into a medieval tale of adventure, loss, and love. “When it comes to happily-ever-afters, Melanie Dickerson is the undisputed queen of fairy-tale romance, and all I can say is—long live the queen!” —JULIE LESSMAN, award-winning author of The Daughters of Boston, Winds of Change, and Heart of San Francisco series She lost everything to the scheme of an evil servant. But she might just gain what she’s always wanted . . . if she makes it in time. The impossible was happening. She, Magdalen of Mallin, was to marry the Duke of Wolfberg. Magdalen had dreamed about receiving a proposal ever since she met the duke two years ago. Such a marriage was the only way she could save her people from starvation. But why would a handsome, wealthy duke want to marry her, a poor baron’s daughter? It seemed too good to be true. On the journey to Wolfberg Castle, Magdalen’s servant forces her to trade places and become her servant, threatening not only Magdalen’s life, but the lives of those she holds dear. Stripped of her identity and title in Wolfberg, where no one knows her, Magdalen is sentenced to tend geese while she watches her former handmaiden gain all Magdalen had ever dreamed of. When a handsome shepherd befriends her, Magdalen begins to suspect he carries secrets of his own. Together, Magdalen and the shepherd uncover a sinister plot against Wolfberg and the duke. But with no resources, will they be able to find the answers, the hiding places, and the forces they need in time to save both Mallin and Wolfberg?

Casualties grow on both sides as the conflict leaves no corner of the world untouched. Illarion Glaskov’s quiet life on the fringes of the empire is thrown into chaos when an impossible tragedy strikes his village. When he is conscripted into the Tsarist military, he is sent to serve in The Wall—an elite regiment that pilots suits of armor made from the husks of dead golems. But the great war is not the only—or even the worst—danger facing Illarion, as he is caught in a millennia-old conflict between two goddesses. He must survive the ravages of trench warfare, horrific monsters from another world, and the treacherous internal politics of the country he serves. At the publisher's request, this title is sold without DRM (Digital Rights Management). About Larry Correia: “Correia piles on the intrigue, action, and cliffhangers in the invigorating second Saga of the Forgotten Warrior epic fantasy. . . . Correia also weaves in elements that question the value of belief and the cost of giving authority to those who find more profit in preying on the weak. . . . Brisk fight scenes, lively characters, and plenty of black humor continue to make this series a real pleasure.” —Publishers Weekly About Steve Diamond: ”Residue will scare you—that’s its primary goal—but along the way it will touch you, shock you, make you laugh, make you cheer, and make you think. Horror has been waiting for Steve Diamond.” —Dan Wells

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leadership is a subject that has gained impressive visibility in the past two decades. The number of books, monographs and articles, as well as seminars, devoted to the development of one's leadership skills has been almost exponential growth. This study is an attempt to forge a full-orbed theology of Christian leadership grounded in the teaching of Scripture. What emerges from tracing the theme of leadership through the biblical record is a servanthood pattern, one that is wholly distinct from prevailing secular models. Our exposition begins with the biblical language of the servant, the term of choice for those great leaders used of God to further his saving purposes in the world. Eleven Old Testament and five New Testament leaders are profiled. The portrait of Jesus Christ focuses on three motifs that governed his training of the twelve for kingdom ministry. The Pauline letters are mined for those convictions that governed Paul's practice of leadership, both of his mission team and of the faith communities that emerged from that mission. The treatment of each leader, from Joseph to Paul, begins with a series of preliminary questions and concludes with a mini-profile that correlates the biblical data with these questions. The final chapter offers a summary profile of the servant leader, one whose character, motives and agenda align with the divine purposes. Though designed as a textbook for upper level college and seminary courses on leadership, the book's readable format is ideal for churches and parachurch organizations in their leadership training programs. The author's prayer is that this work will serve as a catalyst to call God's people back to Scripture and thereby raise up a whole new generation of authentic servant-leaders.
