Book Nonrecursive Control Design for Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Nonrecursive Control Design for Nonlinear Systems written by Chuanlin Zhang and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2023-06-20 with total page 282 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on the authors’ recent advances, this book focuses on a class of nonlinear systems with mismatched uncertainties/disturbances and discusses their typical control problems. It aims to provide a comprehensive view of the nonrecursive control theory and application guidelines. Various applications on the nonrecursive synthesis of complex nonlinear systems not only greatly simplify the control design process, weaken the system assumptions, and reduce the conservatism of gain selection, but also realize the essential detachment of control law design and Lyapunov function-based stability analysis. Therefore, different from the classical recursive control design methods, it is of significance to study the synthesis of nonlinear systems from the perspective of a new nonrecursive control framework. This book discusses the following typical control problems: theoretical background, homogeneous systems theory review, nonrecursive robust control design, nonrecursive adaptive control design, nonrecursive general dynamic predictive control, disturbance estimation and attenuation, nonrecursive stability analysis, implementation theory and real-life applications to series elastic actuators, DC microgrids, and permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) systems under the proposed nonrecursive synthesis framework. This book will be a great reference for scholars and students in the field of automation and control. It will also be a useful source for control engineers and those working on anti-disturbance control, nonlinear output regulation, nonsmooth control, and other related topics.

Book Stabilization Synchronization and Tracking of Nonlinear Systems by Feedback Domination Approach

Download or read book Stabilization Synchronization and Tracking of Nonlinear Systems by Feedback Domination Approach written by Song Yan and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 156 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This dissertation presents a series of fundamental and challenging control problems and their solutions for nonlinear systems, including global stabilization for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems, global asymptotic synchronization via sampled-data feedback, finite-time control for synchronization and bounded tracking of a variable-speed wind turbine nonlinear system. The problem of global stabilization for a class of upper-triangular nonlinear systems is first discussed in this dissertation. We focus on the nonlinear systems whose linearization around the origin can and cannot be guaranteed to be controllable, respectively and a variety of nonlinearity growth rates which depend on the input are considered. Based on adding a power integrator technique and the homogeneous domination design, the state-feedback controller is recursively constructed such that the closed-loop systems are globally asymptotically stable. We also investigate the problem of using sampled-data feedback to synchronize a slave (driven) system with a master (driver) system. Based on the domination approach, both state-feedback and output-feedback control methods using sampled-data are proposed to make the tracking error converge to zero. This issue is of practical importance since in practice the system state is transmitted as sampled signal, and very often only the output is measurable. The problem of finite-time synchronization is also discussed where a homogeneous nonlinear controller is designed to make the tracking error converge to zero in a finite time. In addition, the finite-time control technique is applied to solve the tracking problem of a variable-speed wind turbine system. A finite-time nonlinear tracking controller has been designed for an obtained variable-speed wind turbine model to achieve finite-time asymptotic tracking control for reference rotor speed signals, in order to capture maximum wind power in the operational mode. The proposed scheme relies on Barrier Lyapunov Functions, with which the output of closed-loop system will remain bounded under a mild condition on the initial output. The comparison between the designed controller and traditional finite-time controller which is based on Quadratic Lyapunov Functions is presented.

Book Nonlinear and Adaptive Control with Applications

Download or read book Nonlinear and Adaptive Control with Applications written by Alessandro Astolfi and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2007-12-06 with total page 302 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The authors here provide a detailed treatment of the design of robust adaptive controllers for nonlinear systems with uncertainties. They employ a new tool based on the ideas of system immersion and manifold invariance. New algorithms are delivered for the construction of robust asymptotically-stabilizing and adaptive control laws for nonlinear systems. The methods proposed lead to modular schemes that are easier to tune than their counterparts obtained from Lyapunov redesign.

Book Adaptive Output Feedback Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems

Download or read book Adaptive Output Feedback Stabilization of Nonlinear Systems written by Lili Diao and published by . This book was released on 2009 with total page 210 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Output feedback control design techniques are required in practice due to the limited number of sensors/measurements available for feedback. This thesis focuses on output feedback controller design techniques for nonlinear systems subject to different system restrictions. The problem of controlling the heart dynamics in a real time manner is formulated as an adaptive learning output-tracking problem. For a class of nonlinear dynamic systems with unknown nonlinearities and non-affine control input, a Lyapunov-based technique is used to develop a control law. An adaptive learning algorithm is exploited that guarantees the stability of the closed-loop system and convergence of the output tracking error to an adjustable neighborhood of the origin. In addition, good approximation of the unknown nonlinearities is also achieved by incorporating a per- sistent exciting signal in the parameter update law. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated by an application to a cardiac conduction system modelled by two coupled driven oscillators. An output feedback design technique is developed to achieve semi-global practical stabilization for a class of non-minimum phase nonlinear systems, subject to param- eter uncertainties. This work provides a constructive controller design method for an auxiliary system, whose existence is crucial, but is only assumed in (Isidori, 2000). The control design technique is used to regulate the benchmark van de Vusse reactor. Simulation results demonstrate satisfactory controller performance. The output feedback control design for a class of non-minimum phase nonlinear systems with unknown nonlinearities is studied. The proposed approach is able to combine the two previous design methods and provide a stabilizing output feedback control law. The performance of the proposed method is demonstrated by simulation results.

Book Model Free Stabilization by Extremum Seeking

Download or read book Model Free Stabilization by Extremum Seeking written by Alexander Scheinker and published by Springer. This book was released on 2016-12-23 with total page 129 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: With this brief, the authors present algorithms for model-free stabilization of unstable dynamic systems. An extremum-seeking algorithm assigns the role of a cost function to the dynamic system’s control Lyapunov function (clf) aiming at its minimization. The minimization of the clf drives the clf to zero and achieves asymptotic stabilization. This approach does not rely on, or require knowledge of, the system model. Instead, it employs periodic perturbation signals, along with the clf. The same effect is achieved as by using clf-based feedback laws that profit from modeling knowledge, but in a time-average sense. Rather than use integrals of the systems vector field, we employ Lie-bracket-based (i.e., derivative-based) averaging. The brief contains numerous examples and applications, including examples with unknown control directions and experiments with charged particle accelerators. It is intended for theoretical control engineers and mathematicians, and practitioners working in various industrial areas and in robotics.

This detailed monograph provides the reader with a comprehensive insight into these problems: research results are examined and solutions to the problems are considered. Compared to that of high gain feedback, the power and significance of low gain feedback is not as widely recognized. The purpose of this monograph is to present some recent developments in low gain feedback, and its applications. Several low gain techniques are examined, including the control of linear systems with saturating actuators, semi-global stabilization of minimum phase input-output linearizable systems and H2 suboptimal control.
