Download or read book Seeker Identity Crisis written by Gary Reed and published by Caliber Comics. This book was released on 2019-08-14 with total page 161 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Black Widow meets Witchblade! The saga of Seeker began millennia ago with the fall of the fabled continent called Atlantis. Long ago, it was prophesied that two brothers of the Atlantean royal family would vie for control of that vast empire and, in the attempt, bring about its destruction. This came to pass and the younger of the brothers, Kiryn, was damned to forever walk the Earth as a spectre, always “seeking” release of his shackles but never finding it. But eons later, Kiryn has discovered a way to inhabit willing human hosts and thus, the legacy of the Seeker had begun. Now, the “Seeker” has found a receptacle in the form of Tracy LeMaster. As a highly successful FBI agent, Tracy has an ingrained sense and single minded focus of justice. The Seeker’s loathing of wrongdoing is strongly apparent within her and, thus, the two of them have united as one in the eerie semblance of the newest Seeker. BUT NOW…ALL THAT HAS CHANGED. Having been the latest incarnation of Seeker, Tracy LeMaster is locked up in a mental hospital because obviously, her belief in Atlantis and connection to Kiryn couldn’t possibly be true. For the Seeker persona is now a popular icon figure and its government funded program to battle against corporate crime and terrorism around the world has become singular mission, and all the trappings of Atlantis are gone. With Tracy locked up, LeAnn Heyward is the current Seeker and carries out her duties, however a new pupil, Maxine Brasura, is unknowingly in training to become the next Seeker. Collects the Seeker comic book issues #1-3, and comic issues Seeker: Dawn of Armageddon, and Gestalt #0 A Caliber Comics release.

Book 100 Years of Identity Crisis

Download or read book 100 Years of Identity Crisis written by Frank Furedi and published by Walter de Gruyter GmbH & Co KG. This book was released on 2021-09-07 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of Identity Crisis came into usage in the 1940s and it has continued to dominate the cultural zeitgeist ever since. In his exploration of the historical origins of this development, Frank Furedi argues that the principal driver of the ‘crisis of identity’ was and continues to be the conflict surrounding the socialisation of young people. In turn, the politicisation of this conflict provides a terrain on which the Culture Wars and the politicisation of identity can flourish. Through exploring the interaction between the problems of socialisation and identity, this study offers a unique account of the origins and rise of the Culture Wars.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book provides a general overview of the identity crises BMB (believer from Muslim background) women in Jordan go through and reasons for it. Traditionally, persecution from family, community, or the secret police is thought to leave these women with newfound faith. However, even before persecution exposes their new faith, many initial believers give up seeking the new truth and return to their previous phase due to a serious identity crisis. This phenomenon is found to occur particularly often among female BMBs because of their unique circumstances in the religious and sociocultural contexts of Jordan. Through an examination of BMB women's narratives, this book explores how Muslim women form their identities and what they experience in the process of conversion.

Book Countering Radicalisation and Violent Extremism Among Youth to Prevent Terrorism

Download or read book Countering Radicalisation and Violent Extremism Among Youth to Prevent Terrorism written by M. Lombardi and published by IOS Press. This book was released on 2014-12-09 with total page 248 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Although violent extremism is not a new phenomenon, it is increasingly recognized as a major challenge of our times. The recruitment of foreign fighters by extremist organizations, and its potential impact on public safety in the countries from which they come, is also emerging as a complex issue at the forefront of international preoccupations. This book presents the proceedings of the three day NATO Advanced Research Workshop, "Countering Violent Extremism Among Youth to Prevent Terrorism", held in Milan, Italy, in June 2014. The best way to respond to violent extremism in general, and the radicalization of disaffected youth in particular, is far from clear, but the stakes are so high and the potential threat to countries worldwide so great that inaction is not an option. The goal of the workshop was to enhance the capacity of policymakers and practitioners to design strategies that will achieve verifiable human-rights based outcomes to counter violent extremism. Subjects covered in the 19 papers which go to make up this book include: the causes or drivers of violent extremism; the factors which facilitate the recruitment of youth by violent extremist groups; the risk of growing Islamophobia in some Western and Central European countries; and proactive measures to counter the radicalization of youth. The book will be of interest to all those involved in policy development, prevention programs, de-radicalization programs or research aimed at countering violent extremism and the radicalization of young people.

How do preaching, leadership, evangelism, spiritual formation, and, most of all, how we even think of “church” need to change? The Emerging Church goes beyond just theory and gets into very practical ways of assisting you in your local church circumstances. There is no one right way, no model for us all to emulate. But there is something better.
