Living a life filled with uncompromising authenticity does not have to cost you your optimism. On these pages, I share with you what I needed to learn and unlearn along the way.” SEEING THE EXCHANGE is both a testimony and invitation. Written in vulnerable and heartfelt style, Jordan Lynne testifies to the luminosity and healing power of the Holy Spirit while inviting you into a journey toward freedom that changed her life. Each season of her story presents you with a quickening step in regaining authority over your mind and emotions. In this biblically rooted, encouraging book, Jordan guides you through how-to practically and purposefully move past disappointment, drop despair, and move with grief without losing hope. Now withstanding a global pandemic, the loss of loved ones and another re-route of her career, she illustrates how resiliency is found in surrender to seeing the exchange of your plans for a greater plan with a greater purpose. YOUR JOURNEY TO FREEDOM BEGINS NOW.

Book The Great Exchange Foreword by Sinclair Ferguson

Download or read book The Great Exchange Foreword by Sinclair Ferguson written by Jerry Bridges and published by Crossway. This book was released on 2007-09-07 with total page 295 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Believers often take for granted the great act of salvation provided to us by the work of Jesus Christ. Beginning with the Old Testament sacrifices and the prophecies that foreshadowed Christ, authors Jerry Bridges and Bob Bevington guide believers through the biblical overview of Christ's atonement. The Great Exchange helps believers see how the Old Testament practices tie in with the New Testament discussion of Christ's great work of salvation. As believers work through these principles, they will begin to recognize that even though we deserve condemnation and punishment from a holy God, he has given us the opportunity to experience his great riches through his Son, Jesus Christ. The clear gospel message presented throughout the entire book offers a great appreciation of Christ for believers and an opportunity for salvation for unbelievers.

Book The Exchange of Words

    Book Details:
  • Author : Richard Moran
  • Publisher : Oxford University Press
  • Release : 2018-04-24
  • ISBN : 0190873345
  • Pages : 257 pages

Download or read book The Exchange of Words written by Richard Moran and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-04-24 with total page 257 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The capacity to speak is not only the ability to pronounce words, but the socially-recognized capacity to make one's words count in various ways. We rely on this capacity whenever we tell another person something and expect to be believed, and what we learn from others in this way is the basis for most of what we take ourselves to know about the world. In The Exchange of Words, Richard Moran provides a philosophical exploration of human testimony as a form of intersubjective understanding in which speakers communicate by making themselves accountable for the truth of what they say. The book brings together themes from literature, philosophy of language, moral psychology, action theory, and epistemology, for a new approach to this fundamental human phenomenon. The account developed here starts from the difference between what may be revealed in one's speech (like a regional accent) and what we explicitly claim and make ourselves answerable for. Some prominent themes include: the meaning of sincerity in speech, the nature of mutuality and how it differs from 'mind-reading', the interplay between the first-person and the second-person perspectives in conversation, and the nature of the speech act of telling and related illocutions as developed by philosophers such as J. L. Austin and Paul Grice. Everyday dialogue is the locus of a kind of intersubjective understanding that is distinctive of the transmission of reasons in human testimony, and The Exchange of Words is an original and integrated account of this basic way of being informative to and in touch with one another.

When she tells the police she saw a masked figure fleeing up the bleachers, they dismiss her and label the death accidental. With no one believing what she saw, Brynn’s internal walls start to go up. But there’s one wall she has no control over—the one that separates her and Kyler Fellan’s gym lockers. That’s right, Brynn opens her locker only to find herself face-to-face with the shirtless abs of the school’s star football player and resident flirt. While not an unwelcome surprise, Brynn knows she should leave her fluttering feelings for Kyler on the locker room floor in order to focus on exposing the truth of her classmate’s death. But Kyler’s top jock status has made him privy to some potentially useful gossip, making him a helpful and trustworthy partner in her investigation. As two find themselves delving deeper into the case, they are inevitably drawn closer to each other—even if that isn’t safe for either of them.
