From the author of The Starseed Oracle, Rebecca Campbell, a writer, mystic, devotional creative, and visionary who supports hundreds of thousands of people to connect with their soul and weave the sacred back into their everyday life. “A leading voice in spirituality, Rebecca's work is deep and illuminating.” — Soul and Spirit Magazine AN ENCOURAGING BOOK TO HELP YOU REMEMBER WHO YOU ARE AND TO PLANT YOURSELF HERE Tap into the cosmic nature of your soul, discover your purpose and commit to being here on Earth. Letters to a Starseed asks the biggest questions that mystics and philosophers through the ages have been asking: What is the soul, where did it originate and why have we chosen to come here at this time? YOUR SOUL HAD A DREAM, YOUR LIFE IS IT. This is a book for those who at times feel misplaced in the world; those who have always felt a remembering of some other place without quite knowing what that place really is. As a planet, we are waking up to the fact that the ancient prophecies and warnings from the elders and wise ones are no longer predictions, but our waking reality. They are not just coming or even near ... we are living them right now. What we do now matters to the future of this planet. And we all have a role to play. Some Letters to a Starseed Chapter Titles include: · Who Are We and Where Did We Come From? · The Moment of Your Birth · What Is a Starseed? · Ancient Stars in Our Bones · Reaching Back to the Ancients · Here We Are · Returning · The Longing for Home · I Remember · Why Did You Come Here? · There Must Be More Than This · Why Did You Choose to Come? · We All Have a Role to Play, but Only We Know What · Our Role Is · There You Are · I Have Music in My Heart · Finding Our Ground · Starseed Roles · Plant Yourself Here · How to Feel More at Home on Earth · The Challenge of Being Human · Incarnation · The Original Severing · Plant Yourself Here We are living in a time between myths and stories, and are currently re-weaving the fabric of life on Earth. Throughout this book, Rebecca shares insights and experiences illuminating the connection between our souls, the Earth and the cosmos, to encourage you to commit fully to your incarnation, embrace your human experience and plant yourself here. “Throughout the book you’ll find two prompts, which will support you on your journey as you read. “In many chapters, you’ll find Soul Inquiry prompts that will help you hear the calls of your soul as you journey through the book. “In some chapters, you’ll also find activations. These are here to support you in activating and integrating energies and healing within you, from your soul to your cells. “My hope for this book is that it supports, comforts, and inspires you to remember who you truly are and why you chose to be here at this pivotal moment in the story of humanity. To commit fully to being here and being present to your life on Earth at this time. “To encourage you to play the note that you came here to play, without waver. “Do you remember why you’ve come?” Love, Rebecca x
Download or read book The Soul s Long Journey written by Edward Reaugh Smith and published by SteinerBooks. This book was released on 2003-11 with total page 364 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Here are amazing insights showing reincarnation to be deeply and powerfully revealed in the Bible's most fundamental aspects. How and why have these insights escaped attention for so long? At last, they are uncovered here by a confluence of conventional Bible study and the epochal spiritual discoveries of Rudolf Steiner. With particular emphasis on the organic provisions of the Old Testament, Smith shows both what the assumptions of the Master's hearers were and how the New Testament confirms the ancient heritage. Arising from the fullness of the canon is an exciting story of the long journey of humanity and every human soul, each a "beloved sheep" whom the Creator is unwilling to lose. Combining a lifetime of biblical study and teaching, fifteen years investigating and contemplating Rudolf Steiner's vast works, and almost three decades of applying the analytical skill required in an intense law practice, Smith has produced a potential classic the serious Bible student can ill afford to ignore.
Download or read book Soil Soul Society written by Satish Kumar and published by Parallax Press. This book was released on 2024-10-01 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the first US edition of Satish Kumar's classic book, we rediscover how our spiritual and social well-being connects to that of our planet. Internationally-respected peace and environment activist Satish Kumar has been gently setting the agenda for change for over 50 years. As 350.org founder Bill McKibben says, "There is no one on the planet better-equipped to make you think and rethink how you're living and how you might change." The age of sustainability is grounded on the knowledge that we ourselves are very much part of nature; that what we do to nature we in fact do to ourselves; and that the earth has a soul, which we share. Drawing on the example of Rabindranath Tagore, Kumar advocates living with awareness that our personal choices have political and poetic resonance. In this book, he inspires readers with the knowledge we are all leaders and can create change in our structures and mindsets for lasting peace and a sustainable culture and society. Celebrating an emerging global consciousness that reveres nature, the book explores how, as a global society, we need to embrace diversity and be aware of our role as pilgrims on this earth. Joyful and heart-centered, Satish Kumar reminds us that to bring about change in the world, we must embody the change we wish to see.

Download or read book Academic Theories of Generation in the Renaissance written by Linda Deer Richardson and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-01-17 with total page 319 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume deals with philosophically grounded theories of animal generation as found in two different traditions: one, deriving primarily from Aristotelian natural philosophy and specifically from his Generation of Animals; and another, deriving from two related medical traditions, the Hippocratic and the Galenic. The book contains a classification and critique of works that touch on the history of embryology and animal generation written before 1980. It also contains translations of key sections of the works on which it is focused. It looks at two different scholarly communities: the physicians (medici) and philosophers (philosophi), that share a set of textual resources and philosophical lineages, as well as a shared problem (explaining animal generation), but that nevertheless have different concerns and commitments. The book demonstrates how those working in these two traditions not only shared a common philosophical background in the arts curricula of the universities, but were in constant intercourse with each other. This book presents a test case of how scholarly communities differentiate themselves from each other through methods of argument, empirical investigation, and textual interpretations. It is all the more interesting because the two communities under investigation have so much in common and yet, in the end, are distinct in a number of important ways.

How and to what extent are Platonic Forms involved? In what sense is a fetus ‘alive,’ and when does it become a human being? Where does the embryo’s soul come from, and how is it connected to its body? Download or read book Philo s Influence on Valentinian Tradition written by Risto Auvinen and published by SBL Press. This book was released on 2024-07-05 with total page 349 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this book Risto Auvinen reevalutes the relationship between the exegetical and philosophical traditions found in the works of Philo and those of the Valentinian gnostic tradition, with a particular focus on the latter half of the second century, Valentinianism’s formative years. Texts examined include fragments of Valentinus, Heracleon, and Ptolemy’s Letter to Flora, in addition to the Valentinian source included in the Excerpta ex Theodoto by Clement of Alexandria and related sections in Irenaeus’s Adversus haereses. Auvinen asserts that the number of parallels with Philo in the Valentinian sources increases the likelihood that there was a historical relationship between Philo’s writings and Valentinian teachers. These connections expand our knowledge not only of the preservation and circulation of Philo’s texts in the latter part of the second century but also of the importance of the allegorical traditions of Hellenistic Judaism on Valentinus’s school of thought and on Gnosticism more broadly.
Download or read book Plato and the Individual RLE Plato written by David Rankin and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2013-05-07 with total page 162 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book explores the life-history of the individual within the context of Plato’s social thought. The author examines Plato’s treatment of the principal crises in an individual life - birth, educational selection, sex, the individual’s contract with society, old age, death, and life after death – and provides an unprecedented analysis of Plato’s theory of genetics as it appears in the Timaeus. Comparisons are made with contemporary developments in anthropology, sociology, and comparative myth but without losing sight of the fact that Plato, whilst having much to say to the modern world, was not a modern.
Download or read book Monads Composition and Force written by Richard T. W. Arthur and published by Oxford University Press. This book was released on 2018-09-26 with total page 346 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Leibniz's monads have long been a source of fascination and puzzlement. If monads are merely immaterial, how can they alone constitute reality? In Monads, Composition and Force, Richard T. W. Arthur takes seriously Leibniz's claim of introducing monads to solve the problem of the composition of matter and motion. Going against a trend of idealistic interpretations of Leibniz's thought, Arthur argues that although monads are presupposed as the principles making actual each of the infinite parts of matter, bodies are not composed of them. He offers a fresh interpretation of Leibniz's theory of substance in which monads are enduring primitive forces, corporeal substances are embodied monads, and bodies are aggregates of monads, not mere appearances. In this reading the monads are constitutive unities, constituting an organic unity of function through time, and bodies are phenomenal in two senses; as ever-changing things they are Platonic phenomena and as pluralities, in being perceived together, they are also Democritean phenomena. Arthur argues for this reading by describing how Leibniz's thought is grounded in seventeenth century atomism and the metaphysics of the plurality of forms, showing how his attempt to make this foundation compatible with mechanism undergirds his insightful contributions to biological science and the dynamical foundations he provides for modern physics.
