You create both pain and pleasure in quick succession and some times in one sentence like ' You look good but your hair could have been better'. Most guys there focus only on pleasure and fail to deliver emotional ups and downs, which women crave". Read one more about 'Rules of texting' "vii. Never be too available. This is again a test by girl to know your status. If you are always free for her, your value goes down. viii. Never chat with her for longer duration, especially when she is free. She will use you for time pass and dump you! Chat only when she is busy and finds time from her busy slot for you. Create false timestamps and ways to leave conversation early. Tell her beforehand at times that you have to go after 10 minutes. Create time constraints. A common trick used by girls to test your 'nice guy' status is to attract you, give attention for some time and then slowly back off ! yes this evil!" Before I go, few TIPS for dealing with women. Be confident.Fake it if you don't have it. No tricks are bigger than genuine confidence. Dress in an stylish manner. Get a haircut from better saloon. Fashion and style are primary weakness of women. However inane they might sound to you but good dressing sense works. Never and I say never let any women know that you are interested in her. She will try all ways to get that interest out of you. Be ambiguous. Flirt but never say explicitly that you love her.Never. It is always more effective to be emotional with women. Find emotion in stray dog and they will love you like addicts. Women are emotional junkies. Never take any word of women on face value. They do rant about things, complain but never feel it that deeply. Never apologize or justify your actions. Say 'I love you' or 'You are cute ' in place of explanation.

  • Author : Melanie Notkin
  • Publisher : Seal Press
  • Release : 2014-02-25
  • ISBN : 1580055222
  • Pages : 322 pages

Download or read book Otherhood written by Melanie Notkin and published by Seal Press. This book was released on 2014-02-25 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This “essential read” (Gretchen Rubin) from the author of Savvy Auntie tells the funny, sexy, and sometimes heartbreaking stories of today's well-educated, successful women who expected love, marriage, and children, but instead find themselves in the “Otherhood” as their fertile years wane. More American women are childless than ever before—nearly half those of childbearing age don’t have children. While our society often assumes these women are “childfree by choice,” that’s not always true. In reality, many of them expected to marry and have children, but it simply hasn’t happened. Wrongly judged as picky or career-obsessed, they make up the “Otherhood,” a growing demographic that has gone without definition or visibility until now. In Otherhood, author Melanie Notkin reveals her own story as well as the honest, poignant, humorous, and occasionally heartbreaking stories of women in her generation—women who expected love, marriage, and parenthood, but instead found themselves facing a different reality. She addresses the reasons for this shift, the social and emotional impact it has on our collective culture, and how the “new normal” will affect our society in the decades to come. Notkin aims to reassure women that they are not alone and encourages them to find happiness and fulfillment no matter what the future holds. A groundbreaking exploration of an essential contemporary issue, Otherhood inspires thought-provoking conversation and gets at the heart of our cultural assumptions about single women and childlessness.

Book Abandoned Women and Poetic Tradition

Download or read book Abandoned Women and Poetic Tradition written by Lawrence Lipking and published by University of Chicago Press. This book was released on 1988-09-15 with total page 329 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: At the heart of poetic tradition is a figure of abandonment, a woman forsaken and out of control. She appears in writings ancient and modern, in the East and the West, in high art and popular culture produced by women and by men. What accounts for her perennial fascination? What is her function—in poems and for writers? Lawrence Lipking suggests many possibilities. In this figure he finds a partial record of women's experience, an instrument for the expression of religious love and yearning, a voice for psychological fears, and, finally, a model for the poet. Abandoned women inspire new ways of reading poems and poetic tradition.

Book Representing Female Artistic Labour 1848 1890

Download or read book Representing Female Artistic Labour 1848 1890 written by Patricia Zakreski and published by Ashgate Publishing, Ltd.. This book was released on 2006 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Looking specifically at sewing, art, writing, and acting, Zakreski shows how these professions increasingly came to be defined as 'artistic' and thus as suitable professions for middle-class women, and argues that the supposedly degrading activity of paid work could be transformed into a refining experience for women. Rather than consigning working women to the margins of patriarchal culture, then, her study shows how representations of creative women, by authors such as Elizabeth Barrett Browning, Dinah Craik, Charles Dickens, Anthony Trollope, and Charlotte Yonge, participated in and shaped new forms of mainstream culture."--BOOK JACKET.

Book The Story of a Modern Woman

Download or read book The Story of a Modern Woman written by Ella Hepworth Dixon and published by Broadview Press. This book was released on 2004-01-14 with total page 297 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Ella Hepworth Dixon’s The Story of a Modern Woman originally appeared in serial form in the women’s weekly The Lady’s Pictorial. Like Hepworth Dixon herself, the novel’s heroine Mary Erle is a woman writer struggling to make her living as a journalist in the 1880s. Forced by her father’s sudden death to support herself, Mary Erle turns to writing three-penny-a-line fiction, works that (as her editor insists) must have a ball in the first volume, a picnic and a parting in the second, and an opportune death in the third. This Broadview edition’s rich selection of historical documents helps contextualize The Story of a Modern Woman in relation to contemporary debates about the “New Woman.”

Book Victorian Secrets

Download or read book Victorian Secrets written by Sarah A. Chrisman and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-04-07 with total page 361 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: On Sarah A. Chrisman’s twenty-ninth birthday, her husband, Gabriel, presented her with a corset. The material and the design were breathtakingly beautiful, but her mind immediately filled with unwelcome views. Although she had been in love with the Victorian era all her life, she had specifically asked her husband not to buy her a corset—ever. She’d heard how corsets affected the female body and what they represented, and she wanted none of it. However, Chrisman agreed to try on the garment . . . and found it surprisingly enjoyable. The corset, she realized, was a tool of empowerment—not oppression. After a year of wearing a corset on a daily basis, her waist had gone from thirty-two inches to twenty-two inches, she was experiencing fewer migraines, and her posture improved. She had successfully transformed her body, her dress, and her lifestyle into that of a Victorian woman—and everyone was asking about it. In Victorian Secrets, Chrisman explains how a garment from the past led to a change in not only the way she viewed herself, but also the ways she understood the major differences between the cultures of twenty-first-century and nineteenth-century America. The desire to delve further into the Victorian lifestyle provided Chrisman with new insight into issues of body image and how women, past and present, have seen and continue to see themselves.

Book The Hong Kong Modernism of Leung Ping kwan

Download or read book The Hong Kong Modernism of Leung Ping kwan written by C. T. Au and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2019-11-29 with total page 217 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book resolves around the fundamental question, “What is Hong Kong modernism?” To address this issue, C.T. Au identifies three significant characteristics: a renewal of traditions, an obsession with ordinary things, and an expression of concerns about social and political issues, shared among Western modernisms, Chinese modernism in the 1940s, and such Hong Kong modernists as Ma Lang, Liu Yichang, and Leung Ping-kwan (Yasi/Ye Si). This research concentrates on an examination of the major modernist tenets embodied in Leung’s literary works. Leung Ping-kwan is one of the most prominent and widely read Hong Kong modernist writers; however, there exist only a few scholarly works which focus on the direct relationship between Leung’s works and modernisms. The author argues that Leung paid special attention to issues regarding tradition, daily life, and colonial culture in order to understand his past, his identity, and the unique features of Hong Kong modernism, which celebrate multiple perspectives and inclusiveness. This study not only helps differentiate Hong Kong modernism from other modernisms—positioning the former as a variant of the latter—but also provides a response to the problems evoked by Hong Kong’s colonial milieu.

Book Review 1: “I am an “old school” feminist, born out of the consciousness-raising circles of the early 1970’s and shaped by the influence of Betty Friedan, Bella Abzug, and Gloria Steinhem. My doctoral dissertation, written in 1995, was “The Future of Feminism: Where Do We Go From Here”? This book is a collaboration of over 30 women’s stories and points of view that seeks to answer and expand upon that question. What does it mean to be a modern woman and how does one express her “outside the box” needs for expression? Jennifer Ludington has lovingly curated these stories and added her own “Duality Dare” section at the end of each chapter to encourage the reader to dig deep into her own experience and discover herself anew. Roll up your sleeves, reader. You’ve got work to do!” -- Dr. Judith Rich, speaker, trainer, coach, and best-selling author of the book, “Beyond The Box”. Book Review 2: “Jennifer Ludington, through her living example, asks women to step up, stand up, and speak up. Why? So we can lead with powerful voices and create the change we want to see in the world. Her anthology, which features women writing about jealously, beauty, unity, and mom-guilt, sheds light on important cultural aspects we experience during the rise of the Sacred Feminine.” -- Dr. Kathryn Guylay, transformational leader, podcaster, bestselling author, and founder of MakeEverythingFun.com Book Review 3: "The Duality of the Modern Woman is a must-read. Jen and the powerhouse women featured within the book provide a much-needed illustration of the duality in all women. It invites us all to explore our own duality – our masculine and feminine energy—and highlights real-life examples of how we as women can use both energies to harness anything we want to create in this world. As a type-A attorney, I personally spend a lot of time in the masculine." -- Christy Westerfeld, Esq. – Attorney & Legal Resource for Online Entrepreneurs Book Review 4: “Inspiring. Raw. and REAL.
