This book presents the proceedings of ICEEI 2023, the 5th International Conference on Electronic Engineering and Informatics, which took place as a hybrid event from 23 to 25 June 2023 in Wuhan, China, with around 150 participating delegates. The conference brought together leading academics, researchers and practitioners from around the world to present recent innovations, trends, and concerns, and discuss practical challenges and solutions. It also gave delegates the opportunity to share their experience and research results and exchange views on all aspects of electronic engineering and informatics. A total of 266 submissions were received for the conference, of which 93 were accepted for presentation and publication after a careful double-blind peer review process. The papers are divided into 3 sections, covering electronic device simulation and system modelling; target recognition and information decision making; and network data processing and security detection. Providing a current overview of advances and research results in the relevant fields, the book will be of interest to those working in all areas of electronic engineering and informatics.

The conference provided a unified communication platform for researchers on a wide range of topics, such as big data and cloud computing, technologies and applications of artificial intelligence, robotics science and engineering, the Internet of Things and sensor technology, intelligent big data analysis and applications, and other related fields. In recent years, the rapid development of electronic technology and microelectronic technology has fundamentally and universally brought about the new technology revolution. Related research content includes information transmission, information exchange, information processing, signal detection, integrated circuit design and manufacturing, electronic components, microwaves and antenna, instrumentation technology, computer engineering, applications, and others. The analysis and application of big data improve the efficiency of existing products and allow new products to be developed. From relevant engineering fields, 91 excellent papers were selected through peer review for the publication of the proceedings of IEEE ICEIB 2023.

Book excerpt: Plural Heritages and Community Co-production is a landmark contribution on the nature and plurality of heritages and how they can be creatively and ethically presented in urban space. Providing an overview of the concept of plural heritages, this book explores the theory, politics, and practice of community co-production as they intersect with currents in critical heritage thinking, walking as ethnography, and digital design methods.
